For the first caregiver, I gave no preferences and Mom was not very accepting of the young woman sent to her home. She said she did not want to be seen with a "babysitter" so I asked for someone who would look like a friend or daughter so the second caregiver turned out to be a couple months different in age from me... like one of Mom's daughters. This turned out to be the key and we had a very happy relationship for a couple of years before Mom moved to Assisted Living. Sometimes it takes a little trial and error to figure out what works best for any particular situation but happily our caregiver was able to work with my variable schedule to meet our needs.

The 2nd shift she left an hour and twenty minutes early. Both times she clocked out at the time she was scheduled to end her shift. Falsifying her time card and we were billed the whole shift. After I complained, we decided to start fresh with a new helper. Found out the night before the new helper had car issues and couldn't take the shift. They found a new helper for the next shift, but she didn't show up and we didn't receive any notification that she wasn't coming. Upon calling and speaking with Araceli, I was told the new helper was uncomfortable that a family member might stop by to see how things were going. The helper just wanted to work with my Mom alone. HUGE RED FLAG. I left a message that I wanted to speak with Susan or Irene and neither would return my call. Found out later that the first helper that falsified her time card is still employed by the agency. Beware, they do not communicate well and will clearly bill you for services you do not receive. I had to tell them to remove the charges. Extremely unprofessional and unethical business.

Based on the price of this property, the menu and food quality should be excellent but sadly it is not. The set menu each day is filled with fats and dairy, poorly prepared, and ingredients are very low quality. As an example, what was to be an egg salad sandwich was actually left over scrambled eggs from breakfast and stale bread. Requests to add lactose free options have been ignored. If they want to attract more residents and keep the ones they have, they need to improve the food. Front desk staff is very nice and accommodating but these major issues need to be addressed.
