We had the unexpected pleasure of working with Acclaim Home Care when my mom was released from the hospital after a nasty bout with pneumonia. As the hospital was preparing her discharge, we learned that she could not be released without home health care contracted and in place. She had never had in-home care before and, faced with making a decision within a matter of hours, needless to say we were in a panic. The hospital social worker gave us a list of providers to call and left us to figure everything out. I knew that some sort of assessment would need to be done, and based on Acclaim's proximity to the hospital, I called them first. It was the best call I ever made! Within an hour or two, Randy (the owner) and Leilani and Susan were there at the hospital to meet us, explain their services, and go over all the many details we all needed to know. Leilani did an excellent job of matching my mom with a wonderful caregiver right from day one, and I firmly believe my mom's rapid recuperation had everything to do with being in such good care. During the course of my mom's care, if we ever had questions or concerns, Randy and Leilani were available 24/7 by text, email or phone and always responded quickly. I came across Acclaim while assuming the role of a POA for my ex wife. I was introduced by Kaiser to have Randy DeLeon and his company assist in post medical care upon Stella's release. While Acclaim and Randy were an asset in Stella's Care. What was most unusual was what an asset Randy has been to me since Stella has passed. He has done an incredible job in locating the best services and companies to restore Stella's home, since she passed away, and the home will be sold. Randy has saved me thousands of dollars negotiating with carpet companies, ServPro, plumbers, painters, and other service providers. He is genuinely concerned in making sure that his clients (in this case, me) are 100% satisfied in every respect. Randy provides me daily updates on the renovation and looks out for this property as if it was his own home. We were at first apprehensive as Dinda then had limited experiences as a caregiver and was in fact over qualified for the job as she was a practicing optometrist in the Philippines.( Dinda then had only two years of caregiving). My mother in law however was being discharged then from Smith Ranch suddenly and we felt we would give Dinda a chance over the weekend. Nine years forward, Dinda turned out to be a God-send companion of Mom to her last days in July 2014. She was very kind and nurturing to my mom's needs, always attendant and seemed particularly in tune with what Mom was thinking. In fact when my mother in law died, Dinda happened to be vacationing in the Philippines and as such she missed Mom's funeral services. My husband's siblings decided to give Dinda instead a "celebration of Mom's life" with her being the guest honor! It was an amazingly touching celebration we had that July! Quality home care is dependent on the attitude and skill of the individual caretaker. When all individuals from a company provide quality care, if reflects on the organization's ability to seek out and recruit quality staff. Acclaim Home Care has done that! Initially, I was apprehensive about hiring Acclaim Home Care without any recommendations or previous experience with them. With just a few hours' notice, Acclaim was able to provide an overnight Home Health Aide for my 88 year-old, invalid aunt. In the first week, Acclaim assigned three HHAs, who individually took a 16 hour shift each night. I personally met all three before and after their 16 hour shift and I was quite impressed with them. My husband, Mike a decorated veteran was placed at Broadway Villa. The VA arranged for a 24 hour care and we contracted Acclaim to do the two 12 hour shifts. I was very happy with the different caregivers Acclaim has sent in caring for Mike during his stint at Broadway. The aides were all very professional, experienced, and knowledgeable with Mike's medical conditions. I'm also grateful at the office staff professionalism and involvement. I'm in constant communication with both Randy, their managing director and Leilanie, their staffing manager. I was told by JC and Josephine, that Randy had a "hands on" attentiveness with Mike's case in that he was constant communication by text messages with the different caregivers attending to Mike. Both my 100 year old mother and my husbands parents in their 90's have needed special assistance over the last 6 months. Acclaim management has been quick to organize 100% reliable service as randomly needed. Randy has provide us with wonderful and caring people to assist our parents with various tasks from transport to doctors and hospital and even help to organize a move into assisted living. Now in Assisted Living the Acclaim people still keep an eye on all three parents and are quick to communicate if they see a health issue that needs attention. Acclaim is a must to get any of the 3 of them to doctors, the bank, shops and home again. My husband and I live in Australia and Acclaim has been the link that we so very much needed. We have been clients of Acclaim for approximately ten years starting with two days/week and over the years, as my mom's condition gradually worsened due to a Head Injury and dementia increased to full time in home caregiving. Acclaim staff was always very attentive to our changing needs both when my mom was making progress as well as in later years as she worsened. The quality of caregivers was consistently far superior to another agency we had previously used. Acclaim was wonderful to my mother. Specifically, Susan and the carefully chosen aides, especially Doris, were so compassionate in their care. The ladies performed their duties with such dignity and respect as my mother's life was coming to an end. They administered her meds on time, swabbed her parched lips and bathed her carefully.
