ASC has been around for many years and ownership has now passed to the next generation. Darin has many years of knowledge and experience in the industry but is now behind the scenes as the current owner and all around great local guy. After a truck battery started failing last week, I popped in and chatted with a couple of their old time employees, guessing they each have over 30 years with ASC. Informed him of what I needed and he retrieved a replacement battery, even carting it out to my ride in the parking lot. That's what I call fantastic customer service or maybe he thought this old guy can't carry the battery. After all, these batteries are kinda heavy nowadays. The parts store is right off of Route 11/Kanoelehua Avenue and easy to find on Kawili Street. They have an extensive inventory as well as ample parking. Highly recommended for their easy access, parts availability, local roots, and awesome staff.

The guys behind the counter work on cars and they know cars. This matters to me, I've found whenever I go somewhere else. I've encountered employees other places that I don't think have ever even done an oil change before and that's definitely not the case with Pahoa Auto Parts. You can have conversations with them about your car and they can make good recommendations based on their experiences. This sets them apart from pretty much all other parts stores on the east side. And I've never had a problem returning parts, so long as I had a receipt and the parts weren't used.
