Damaged walls
Ryan C.

So incredibly disappointed with the condition of the rooms for $500 a night. For this rate could be at a 4,5 star hotel in Paris with better amenities. As soon as we walked into the room we were greeted by multiple fruit flies. Paid good money to share a room with bugs. There is noticeable wall damage on the walls further fueling the disappointment of just how much money was spent. There is only 1 towel hook to hang a bath towel. Where is the second guest supposed to hang their towel? If the towel hook on the back of the door had a second hook- problem solved. This is a beach resort and there is a pool. Why are they so stingy with the pool towels- only 8 put out at a time. There is a comedically small amount of shampoo and body wash considering people will be showering multiple times because of the beach and pool. We are only here because of a friend's wedding. Deeply regret spending my money here. There's a reason why there are lots of 1 stars.

View from the room. Broken screens and filthy windows.

Quite a disappointment. It was a big birthday for me, so I wanted my wife and I to have a great mini-vacation. We paid **$600** for two nights. Off-season. What we got for an ocean-view king was: * endless noise from traffic right below our room * vicious noise in the hallway during the day as equipment was being repaired. * no coffee or amenities in the lobby in the morning. * one washcloth * one luggage rack * no extra coffee cups for tea in the room. * we couldn't see the ocean from the windows of our room due to old, dirty screens and filthy windows. * the deck slider didn't lock, due to rust. ...and when we complained they said they didn't have any cups, washcloths, etc. "We are following orders from corporate." The front-desk staff was friendly, overworked, and understanding, but frustrated that they were unable to help us. They wanted to. We understand how these aggregators take over private hotels, make minimal cosmetic changes, raise the prices, and hope to make money. Same with the Kimpton chain. We will never go to this hotel again. A Holiday Inn, at half the price, would have had better accommodations, coffee and two washcloths. By the way, the WiFi is horrible. I had to use cellular the whole time.

If you want to get away,The Nantasket Beach Hotel is the place to go.The hosts are courteous and helpful, room was spotless, towels clean, bedding impeccable. A perfect place for a getaway!

Broken shower knob

Second time here in the last year. Homestly disappointing. I now know they could care less about their customers, you will come because of the location. The hotel doesn't have enough parking. The rooms seem to be in different levels of of obvious wear and tear. This time it had a broken thermostat, shower knob and the wallpaper was scotch taped in place. You could find yourself and your kids in the side of a wedding banquet hall with a loud Dj. The pool had no towels and the staff just doesn't really care. If you have other options I would probably stay away until they get their stuff together. Dispite an issue with the water which was brown, I never asked for a discount or refund. I probably won't be back.

My wife Yoojin and I had a small wedding party at the Surf Lounge at the Paragon Grill and Ashley Grant-McDonnell and the whole staff couldn't have been any more accommodating.

This luxury bed & breakfast was absolutely amazing!! The owner greeted us upon our early arrival. She was so adorable, polite, and warm welcoming. She even allowed us to check in 1hr early. Also Heather did an outstanding job with cleaning the suite for check-in ready. I suffer from obsessive control disorders. The way Heather cleaned the suite actually helped me cope with my disorder. The entire suite passed my white glove cleanliness ritual. The smell was so delightful. It was almost like smelling fresh air inside lol. This place was so calming & relaxing. I didn't want my little getaway stay to end. This place is definitely a 10 out of 10.

A relaxing getaway in the South Boston…read more After a trip to Montreal and NYC, we were seeking a little solitude from our typical trip to Boston. In most cases, we would stay in the heart of the city. This is a great side trip outside of summer, when the rates are great and you don't want to go as far out as Cape Cod. This trip took us from plane to city, from train to boat, from taxi to city and from car to village. In Hull, we were 30 minutes or less from everything we needed to access; Plymouth (the rock), Milton (the grand babes) and the towns of Cohasset and Hingham (for coffee, food, and shopping). The owner of the Beacon Luxury Waterfront Inn greeted us, as we arrived before dark, with easy upfront parking. Into the Atlantic suite, with water views (and although fall, the weather was temperate, not hot, but not too cold yet). We selected this room, as it was on the corner with water views. The suite itself was huge with a private bath, jacuzzi tub, fireplace and I must admit they were both used nightly to not only to slow down from all the traveling but also after sightseeing, outings and spending time with family. Each morning a simple continental breakfast is served. This is probably the thing we liked the least, but we knew what to expect. We prefer a bed and breakfast with a full breakfast, but we did enjoy our room and slept comfortably with the amenities available. If anything, not being food focused got us going earlier in the morning for a new adventure. I highly recommend stepping outside the city sometime and exploring the smaller places. This is what makes New England so charming. #OutsideBoston #Hull #TheBeaconLuxuryWaterfrontInn #NewEngland

We completed the reservation and rental process on 6/23 for an arrival in Hull on 7/11. We paid the the amount of the rental in full. The owner ,Peter Gilmour, confirmed the reservation on-line and and over the phone. On 7-9, 30 hours before our rental was to begin, Mr Gilmour sent an one sentence message that our rental had been canceled and he was "Sorry". He did initiated the return of our money. By this point I had spent thousands to fly my family to the Boston area and the search for alternate accommodations at such an late time was all but impossible. After being pressed for answers, Mr. Gilmour stated that he had double booked the rental. I would think that simple attention to detail would have avoided this situation. Mr Gilmour,is at best, an unorganized inept businessman....in my opinion

The service we received from the manager, Peter, was so personal and attentive -- considering that we had late arrival and early departure, everything went very smoothly. This was a much more attractive option than staying out in some anonymous suburb. Hull has a lot of character.

When we first went up the stairs to get to our room, it smelled like urine and had a bad musty smell. The other rooms seem to have been occupied by permanent residence. Also on the way to our room we smelled a strong smell of marijuana. Get to our room and the smell just smacks you in the face. It was dingy and musty. Was a 3 bedroom, so there was an extra room towards the back with a king size bed. In that room there was no TV but a tv stand, the night stand had no drawers and a drawer was missing from the tv stand. The other beds were bother the same size but one was higher than the other. The phone did not work, Mold on the curtains, gum stuck to the carpet, comforter looks like it hasn't been washed in years. I figured we get some air freshener, keep our socks on & take off the comforter and sleep on top of the sheet, because it seemed pretty clean. I also figured because we wasn't going to be in the room most of the time, we will be ok. Boy was I wrong again!! I should have ran, when I first smelled the hallway to my room. Anyways, my family went out to a movie, got back later that night. The boys (3 teenagers) were sitting on the bed when ants started crawling on their shoes. At this point I decided I was going to check out in the a.m and find new hotel. I call the front desk to tell them about the ants. They sent someone up, to spray along the walls. I tell my family as soon as we wake up we are leaving. So as everyone is sleeping, at about 2am I start feeling like I'm being bitten by mosquitos. I jump up, wake up my husband, we pull the sheets back, and lord and behold a bed bug in plain sight, crawling on the sheets. With about 8 bites all over my back and arm, I couldn't stop itching. I immediately called and made another reservation for a different hotel but could check in until after 2pm. My husband ran out to the nearest 24hr CVS to buy anti itch cream and bed bug spray so that we can spray out belongings. Needless to say, I got no rest because I stayed up from 2am to 7:30am freaked out. DO NOT! DO NOT! DO NOT! STAY HERE!!

It also appears that there are people living here on a somewhat permanent basis, which I would assume is courtesy of the United States government. I can't say enough good things about Josephine's: it was an easy location to find, right near the beach/bay and wonderful hiking at World's End. One of the only minor things was that mini shampoos were not provided (only aromatherapy body scrub), not that I expected any, so that doesn't take away any stars in my mind. Highly recommend!
