    Ocean View

Very disappointing hotel. We paid about $250 for the night there was no elevator and we were on the 3rd floor. I guess if you don't have luggage, then it's no big deal. However we had a 47 lb bag and a 26 lb bag since we were living out of our suitcases for a week. The other issue is that they had exposed wires throughout the hallway of the 3rd floor (pictures attached) and peeling paint. The bathroom was very nice (large shower only) however there was a piece of a bloody scab left on the bathrrom floor. At first glance, it looked like a bed bug (photo attached), but we did a thorough search of the premises, no bugs. Final issue was the heating system. They had circulating fans/heaters, but unfortunately no heat was emitted from these machines, only cold air. I suggested we call down to make sure we were doing it properly, but there wasn't a phone in the bedroom. At that momebt I was too cold to go check the living room and then I forgot. I suggested that we just call down with our cell phones, but the confirmation paper was in the car and by then MacGyver created warmth by using a hair dryer. On a positive time, there was an ocean view as promised. Also MacGyver went down for dinner and enjoyed her meal. Here's What I Think...I will never go back to this place, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

A few minutes walk to the Ocean. Beautiful!!

We are in our room as I speak. Today is 08/28/2020. We are in room #208. My first thought was, It was out dated, But actually, I must say, I do Love it here. the two rooms are very spacious and It's Clean, Friendly and the staff is unbelievably helpful. The Food here, Great!!, Service, Excellent, Drinks, (cocktails.) Great and the bill for dinner and drinks was very reasonable. Would I stay here again? In a New York Minute. The ocean is a very small walk away. Great neighborhood and Quiet. There is no elevator but, It's really not a big deal at all. For me and my friend, It felt like we were coming home. Great job to all who work here. Thank You All, And tell the chef and his staff, Food was perfect, Great Job, Jo-Anne Sebs.

    air conditioner in room

Food in restaurant was very good. We stayed in hotel for 4 nights. The rooms (we had two) were clean but sketchy. Air conditioner was dirty. Seems like part of the hotel might be a boarding house...there were slots for people's mail at the top of the stairs. We were NOT happy that our 4 nights were charged to our credit card prior to arrival. We had wanted to use a different credit card. Also, check in was supposed to be at 3pm....however no one was at the desk until 4pm. At $240.00 a night I expected a better room. Housekeeping was hit or miss.

Dryft was an upscale experience from the usual stands and restaurants that historically been part of the Revere Beach dining experience since mid-century and further back. Dryft is easy to get to from the beach side and the subway. We ate on the outdoor deck. The restaurant is above street level for an ocean view. What a great way to enjoy a summer afternoon. Our service was great, professional not overly friendly. I liked the atmosphere, casual but a bit upscale for Revere Beach. The food was delicious. I tried the clam chowder, and ordered the mushroom gnocchi. Which both delicious. They have a full bar and they offer high tops, regular chairs and indoor & outdoor seating. We had a large party and few kids so decided it would be more comfortable inside. We got a semi private room initially so that was nice. Another party came in halfway through which was fine. Service was excellent. Our server was attentive and checked on us often. Got all our orders correct and was very polite. Surprisingly the truffle fries were my favorite. Very crunchy and just the right crispiness. Fried calamari was also great with the right level of crispness and mixed jalapeños. The swordfish had no flavor and was bit dry. I should have expected this but wanted to try regardless. The dish had plenty of strong supplemental flavors trying to enhance the flavorless dish but wasn't doing it for me. Overall not a bad place to take friends or date if in area but I would not go out of my way to come back.

The beer selection (draught and bottle/can) is wide ranging and the price is on par with what most bars are charging now. There were even Scottish people here during the World Cup '26. (When people say they were EVERYWHERE, I realized at Renegade's how true it was.) If the "No Scotland, No Party" people were there you know the place has to be good. One more thing, (and please don't tell them) the prices on the excellent food they have there are nowhere near what most places charge, including ones nearby. The vegetarian options are delicious and satisfying. So glad I finally got my butt there.

We stayed at a hotel nearby and ordered take out. Our burgers were fantastic, the onion rings are to die for, and we really enjoyed almost every appetizer they had over the next two days. The only negative feedback I have at all is that they're stingy with their ranch. They left it out of both take out orders we placed. I had wings with no ranch, fried pickles with no ranch, it seemed like it was being treated as liquid gold and maybe it is, maybe that's why I'm so salty about it! Lol. Seriously, don't pass up the wings or the onion rings.

After making a reservation, the three of us arrived shortly after noon to find the restaurant completely empty. In fact, there were no staff in sight. After calling toward the kitchen, a waitress appeared, and we seated ourselves. After ordering waters and iced teas, we looked over the extensive menu and chose: * Ay Caramba! ($16) - A vegetarian tapa packed with corn, peppers, spinach, mushrooms, and more. * Margherita Pizza ($18) - Garlic confit, fresh basil, vine-ripened tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella. * Panko-Crusted Baked Haddock ($32) - Served with roasted potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and a white wine cream reduction. The Ay Caramba! was the standout dish of the meal. It was flavorful, with a great texture, and easily our favorite. The Margherita pizza featured a very thin, crisp crust with fresh tomatoes and a light touch of sauce, making for a good but not exceptional pizza. Opinions on the haddock were mixed--one diner enjoyed it, while another thought it had a slightly fishy taste. The restaurant itself has a pleasant, inviting atmosphere, and once service began, our waitress was friendly, attentive, and checked on us several times throughout the meal. At almost $100 with tip, this isn't an innexpensive place. That said, we enjoyed lunch and would be happy to return. Tip: Metered parking is available on the street and there is a small parking lot next to Valsos. You can also park further down toward the beach, about a 5-minute walk to the restaurant.
