    Ocean View

Very disappointing hotel. We paid about $250 for the night there was no elevator and we were on the 3rd floor. I guess if you don't have luggage, then it's no big deal. However we had a 47 lb bag and a 26 lb bag since we were living out of our suitcases for a week. The other issue is that they had exposed wires throughout the hallway of the 3rd floor (pictures attached) and peeling paint. The bathroom was very nice (large shower only) however there was a piece of a bloody scab left on the bathrrom floor. At first glance, it looked like a bed bug (photo attached), but we did a thorough search of the premises, no bugs. Final issue was the heating system. They had circulating fans/heaters, but unfortunately no heat was emitted from these machines, only cold air. I suggested we call down to make sure we were doing it properly, but there wasn't a phone in the bedroom. At that momebt I was too cold to go check the living room and then I forgot. I suggested that we just call down with our cell phones, but the confirmation paper was in the car and by then MacGyver created warmth by using a hair dryer. On a positive time, there was an ocean view as promised. Also MacGyver went down for dinner and enjoyed her meal. Here's What I Think...I will never go back to this place, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

A few minutes walk to the Ocean. Beautiful!!

We are in our room as I speak. Today is 08/28/2020. We are in room #208. My first thought was, It was out dated, But actually, I must say, I do Love it here. the two rooms are very spacious and It's Clean, Friendly and the staff is unbelievably helpful. The Food here, Great!!, Service, Excellent, Drinks, (cocktails.) Great and the bill for dinner and drinks was very reasonable. Would I stay here again? In a New York Minute. The ocean is a very small walk away. Great neighborhood and Quiet. There is no elevator but, It's really not a big deal at all. For me and my friend, It felt like we were coming home. Great job to all who work here. Thank You All, And tell the chef and his staff, Food was perfect, Great Job, Jo-Anne Sebs.

    air conditioner in room

Food in restaurant was very good. We stayed in hotel for 4 nights. The rooms (we had two) were clean but sketchy. Air conditioner was dirty. Seems like part of the hotel might be a boarding house...there were slots for people's mail at the top of the stairs. We were NOT happy that our 4 nights were charged to our credit card prior to arrival. We had wanted to use a different credit card. Also, check in was supposed to be at 3pm....however no one was at the desk until 4pm. At $240.00 a night I expected a better room. Housekeeping was hit or miss.

Dryft was an upscale experience from the usual stands and restaurants that historically been part of the Revere Beach dining experience since mid-century and further back. Dryft is easy to get to from the beach side and the subway. We ate on the outdoor deck. The restaurant is above street level for an ocean view. What a great way to enjoy a summer afternoon. Our service was great, professional not overly friendly. I liked the atmosphere, casual but a bit upscale for Revere Beach. The food was delicious. I tried the clam chowder, and ordered the mushroom gnocchi. Which both delicious. They have a full bar and they offer high tops, regular chairs and indoor & outdoor seating. The menu has a Lunch price until 3 and a dinner price. I'll be back.

Notable dinner spot to meet with friends and/or coworkers…read more Sat inside on a rainy day but plenty of people had opted to sit on the outdoor patio which seemed like it was a cool vibe. Ordered several apps: Brussels sprouts, octopus and calamari. All were great but the octopus was the fan favorite. It was served over some sort of puree (maybe potatoes?) and accompanied by a green. To be fair, I had just come back from a vacation where seafood was the star of every meal, so the octopus was a little overcooked in my opinion but since everyone else was happy, I was too. Two coworkers ordered the scallops, one ordered rigatoni, one steak frites and I did the mushroom gnocchi and added lobster. For the pastas, the server encouraged us to order the full size which ended up being way too much food. We both left more than half on our plates which I guess would have been good if we weren't traveling from out of town and could have taken it home as leftovers...but it really was just a waste. If you're not too hungry or order apps, the half portion is more than enough. Everyone seemed happy with their food except for the coworker who ordered a side of coleslaw. He said there were onions in it...I said it must be a Boston thing?? Overall, good dining experience. Would I go again? Yes, if someone were to invite me...but I would not return on my own before giving some other places a try. Not to knock the place...It is a solid choice for good food - just not "excellent" or memorable.

We were in the mood for chicken pot pie, and the restaurant at Winthrop Arms absolutely delivered. The portions are huge, the food is clearly made with care, and the restaurant has such a warm, cozy atmosphere. We started with the mac and cheese, and it was one of the best we've had--super creamy, cheesy, and the perfect way to kick off the meal. Then came the chicken pot pies. They were piping hot, packed with tender chicken and veggies, and wrapped in a perfectly flaky crust. They also came with creamy mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and fresh bread, which made the whole meal feel like the ultimate comfort food feast. Everything was delicious. What really stood out, though, was the service. Everyone we interacted with was so friendly and welcoming, and they made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. We're from Los Angeles, and this is one of those places we'll be thinking about long after our trip. The next time we're in Boston, we'll absolutely be back. If you're looking for classic comfort food done right, don't skip this place!

It came with a side of potatoes. My husband decided to get the Haddock , along with zucchini and carrots which was very tasty. Then we decided to get a side of mac and cheese with bacon which was very good too. When we received the bill we were shocked that the prices were not bad at all. It was actually pretty decent. I wouls highly recommend coming here and checking them out.

If you stick with the seafood, you're going to have a great meal. That said, keep in mind it is a seafood restaurant. They have chicken wings on the menu, we figured we'd get them to share until the food came out.. They were honestly terrible. The order we received came with six extremely small, overcooked pieces that were so dry and tough looking they weren't even edible. Just looking at them we didn't bother as they weren't at all appetizing. I'm not sure if it was a bad day, a supply issue, or something else entirely, but they were a complete miss. Speaking of, service can be hit or miss as well. This past weekend, we had a wonderful server who was friendly, attentive, and made the experience enjoyable. The visit before that, however, was the exact opposite. Our server--who seemed to be either a manager or assistant manager--spent nearly all of his time chatting up a table of women, clearly trying to get phone numbers. Trying to get his attention for anything felt like a major inconvenience. What motivated me to write this today is that not only was the service good on our latest visit, but we also tried the fried seafood instead of the usual seafood boil--and it was absolutely excellent, and not at all expensive. Both the fried shrimp plate and the fried clam plate were outstanding. If you haven't tried their fried options, or not in the mood to put on gloves and dig into a seafood boil, don't sleep on their fried seafood. It was surprisingly impressive. Overall: great seafood, inconsistent service, avoid the wings entirely, and definitely give the fried dishes a try.

My husbands fish was fresh - small portion, mashed potatoes starchy, veg was good - small portion. I had the haddock francase- tiny portion of fish- the sauce was delicious but saturated the 'breading' kind of wrecking it (maybe put the sauce on the side?). Risotto awful.
