Nando's at the White Rose Shopping Centre is located in the upper-level Food Court area of the mall, although it has its own dedicated seating and restaurant area.
It can get quite busy here, and there's often a waitlist for a table, you can tell they have done their best to cram in as many tables as they can, but I would suggest the unit just isn't big enough for the demand of being inside the mall, as it means it can be cramped, uncomfortable and that's for those who are even able to get a table.
The staff are friendly - on my recent visit, I ordered my usual Nando's order- a Medium Chicken Butterfly Breast with Peri Chips and Spicy Rice, the portion size was generous for the chicken and the fries, but I would have liked more rice.
The chicken was fine with a nice amount of sauce, but I've had better at other Nando's, I was a little disappointed with the sides with the rice being clumped together and the fries not being fully hot, and tasting a little bland even with the peri-salt.
I do think for the quality, which isn't far above fast food - it was a little overpriced, As of March 2025, my meal came to £15.95 - especially with it being a place where you order at the bar (or with a QR code), pay before your meal, and get all drinks/cutlery/sauces yourself.
Despite being a chicken restaurant, Nando's also don't offer mayo which is a huge let-down for me, with the only options being a vegan alternative or a Perinaise (Nando's Peri-Peri Mayo), the latter being a paid extra.
The staff were friendly enough despite being busy.
3* - I would return if shopping on the mall during quieter periods but it is one to avoid on a busy Saturday. read more
