    Fino pita
    Matthew M.

Casual dining here and kid friendly. You order with a QR code on your table and pay on the phone and then the food comes later. I got the fino pita with chicken thighs. It was good, just nothing to write home about. I got medium heat and it was very mild (I'm from Texas and like spicy) and I should have went with hot or extra hot. I would come here again for a casual meal by myself, but I would be hesitant to recommend it to a friend in favor of trying any other random restaurant.

First off, lets normalize qr code ordering in America bec it is so convenient and yes I finally got to try Nando's and let me tell you for a chain restaurant, they know what they're doing. The peri peri chicken is fantastic and the sauces are to die for. I am actually actively looking if I can buy them somewhere and bring them home with me. You scan the qr code andnorder through the website and pay for it too. My husband tried the sunset burger and he said it was not disappointing. Pretty decent tummy filler. Try it.

Nandos is a great fast casual option if you enjoy rotisserie style chicken with a bit of spice. Even if you don't, their menu runs the gamut of options with a ton of good apps and sides. This location is very busy being right across from the museum and while service was pretty fast, it wasn't great and everyone seemed a bit confused who was working there. All that said, the food was still awesome and worth coming back for time and time again! There is free soda refills but it's a bit confusing on if you can get it or your server does. Toilets are clean but down a long staircase.

    RAINBOW BOWL & GARLIC BREAD.

MY RATING: 3.5 My quick experience at Nando's was great. The employees were kind. The food was fast, flavorful, and fresh. My only complaint is for the price, I would have enjoyed a slightly bigger portion. However, if I found myself in the area, I would check out Nando's again. *RAINBOW BOWL - warm spiced grains, long-stem broccoli, hummus, rainbow slaw, pickled golden carrot and a sprinkle of seeds. This bowl was perfect to complete my veggie craving! Everything tasted fresh and paired beautifully together. The hummus was fluffy and a great consistency. I loved the acidity from the pickled carrots. *The GARLIC BREAD was perfection. I'm a carb girl! Besides pasta, my favorite carbs are ones that are toasted with garlic and butter. I savored every melted, crunchy bite. I ordered with a QR code at the table. You can watch my visit to Nando's and see all of the vegan food I ate in Edinburgh on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pw-0mh0q3iM&t=1s

NANDO'S! Ordered the chicken leg non spicy with a side of corn and mashed potato. yuuuuuuum. I mean it is basic food but doesn't mean it isn't good. The chicken was nice and tender with delicious seasonings. You order at the cash and it gets delivered to your seat. I wish we had this chain in Montreal!!!!!

Nando Nando bo Bando, Banana fano for Fando, Fe fi mo Mando, NANDO's!! Just seems to rhyme doesn't it! Having been to the London locations and now in Scotland, I have to say they are consistent and do not disappoint. What makes this place desirable is the Sauces which is the star of the plate. Poured over every bite of the chargrilled chicken is what keeps me craving and coming back. Staff was friendly, service was attentive, prices reasonable and location was next to the Edinburgh Castle.

I really don't know how someone can not like Nando's! They call it legendary peri-peri chicken for a reason! Especially love their chicken wings. Service is fast and the food delish. I do wish they had bbq sauce but that's not their thang. This particular location is massive with cute decor.

As much as I do enjoy Nandos I really cannot justify the cost, it's completely ridiculous. Since its been a year I decided to stop by for lunch. This particular venue is very spacious with heaps of tables. Service is decent. Same principle- get a table, order at the counter then go get your own cutlery and sauces before your meal comes. So my order was the quarter chicken with two sides and my partner had the chicken wrap with a side of fries. When my order came by heart sank, the chicken was not a quarter, it was more like 1/6 of the chicken which was just poor effort on their part. My partners wrap was child sized and we both were underwhelmed by the meal. The two sides were grilled corn and Mediterranean vegetables- I was charged separately for them which I'm completely unimpressed by. I guess I just like the thought of eating at Nandos more than wasting my money on half a meal that couldn't fill a child's stomach. The food itself was good, but since it wasn't more than 3 mouthfuls I don't think I could elaborate anymore.

This is a popular franchise in the UK area. It's known for its great chicken, and it certainly lives up to its reputation! A friend and I split a whole chicken with 4 sides and we were absolutely porked and satisfied. The chicken was tender and flavorful. You also have an option to add a wide array of sauces, which I'd highly recommend in order to tailor your chicken to your taste. The service at the Edinburgh location is exceptional. I can speak to that much at least. Employees at the cash register were happy to assist with questions as my friend and I were first timers. Also, we got our food relatively quick. My only negative remark would be the price. Expect to drop about 10 quid for a decent meal. Slightly pricey for casual dining, but the food is fantastic.

First time eating at Nando's! It's not some sophisticated cuisine, but I appreciated my lunch there. The chicken, sides and sauces were good, and the staff was nice.

This is, all things considered, without pretension but with utter self-confidence, still the best Peri Peri Chicken in the world.

The sammiches come on a big, soft, delicious roll. And they're filled with a generous portion of pulled pork. You get to customize them a little bit by selecting your bread, the size of the sammich, the stuffing (sage and onion or the homemade haggis), and a variety of spreads (apple, homemade mustard mayo, homemade chili cheese, and homemade chili jam). My wife got the sage & onion, and I opted for a haggis filling. We both very much enjoyed our rolls. They were very filling, and the staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. The haggis was unique, but we are very familiar with pulled pork sammiches back home. We really enjoyed our meal and would definitely recommend Oink to any hungry travelers in Edinburgh.

There is usually a line outside this simple restaurant but possibly due to the light rain, the line was fairly short when I went. I only waited for like 5 minutes. The menu is simple as the roasted hog/pig is the only thing on the menu. You can choose a few things to customize the sandwich or even order it in a box. I ordered the Oink size (medium) on wheat bread and chose sage and onion for my topping and then the Homemade Mustard Mayo for the sauce. They make it in front of you and it is fresh and very tasty. Unfortunately when I went they were out of cracklings. They wrap it in foil and hand it to you. Pretty simple and efficient. I love that the outside of the building is painted pink like a pig (coincidence? Probably not). This is a good place to try for a quick, cheap and yummy sandwich. They do this one thing very well. Please open more of these!

The gentleman who was working on my second trip was also friendly and helpful z but he was working on the back as well, so there was less interaction. Between my 2 visits, Zi tried a variety of pies, pasties, & rolls, all of which were very tasty (although there's something about a Greggs sausage roll; I'd stick to the pies and pasties here, and walk a couple of doors up the street for one of those.). One evening in Berkeley, California, out to dinner with some friends at a Korean restaurant, I…read moreshared that I was heading to Scotland in July of 2019 and asked if anybody had been and had any recommendations for places to go. Probing why I was going a little, they got out of me I am of the Gordon Clan of Aberdeenshire, a Scotland of Old clan. One of my friends exclaimed, "Gordon!" He paused, looked me directly in the eyes and said, "You know we're rivals right?!" He is Nate James Lindsey. A member of the Lindsey Clan, one of the Gordon Clan's rival clans in Scotland of Old. Once we addressed our rival ancestries, he recommended to me The Baked Potato Shop in Edinburgh, the city I was flying into/out of for my first trip not only to Scotland, but to Europe as well. Well, I might as well go I thought, how bad can a rival clan recommendation be. The night I arrived in Edinburgh, 5 July 2019, I entered The Baked Potato Shop and was greeted by a friendly worker. After looking over the menu, I went with a baked potato loaded with vegan chilli and vegan Macsween haggis. After placing my order, paying, and getting the baked potato I thought the only thing missing from my first ever evening in Scotland was bagpipe music. No sooner had I thought that than I heard the sounds of bagpipes wafting across the cobbled lane out front of the Shop. Across the cobbled lane I went, lured by the wail of the bagpipes. After listening for a bit and providing a tip I returned to the guest house I was staying the night at. The food was delicious and filled my travel-tired belly. The haggis was the first I had of any kind, vegan or non-vegan, and it was an immediate favorite. Offset from my departure time zone by 8 hours, I went to sleep soon after eating. I woke up early the next morning ready to go. Turns out the baked potato and toppings cured my jet lag in less than 24 hours, quite remarkable. What a way to end my first day in Scotland, a recommendation from a member of a rival Scotland of Old clan yields tasty food. I will however note that I am also of Irish descent, so I am still not sure what to make of the recommendation in light of the Irish Potato Famine... Ahhh, Scotland of Old lives on.
