Not too dissimilar to the aforementioned this place has a function room or events and is of the buffet restaurant variety. The food is of decent quality, much better than those student chinese buffet style scenarios (I know that's not saying much but still..) My personal fav were the chicken pakoras... not too oily and the meat was very tender and delicious. Not much else to say apart from the fact that there's ample parking space behind joint. Definitely place to go if you're starving and don't want to fork out more than £20 for a hearty filling meal.

I consider…read moremyself a Nando's regular, so I was looking forward to finding out how this branch compared as one thing I've found with Nando's is their branches and food tends to either be excellent or terrible and it is rare that a branch is in-between. On a personal note, this ended up being my final review of 2019 and was #937 for my yearly total and #2973 since joining Yelp in April 2014. Firstly, the store was rather busy so there was a short wait for a table before I came in, the waiting area wasn't too nice as it was in a small drafty porch with no staff on hand to greet you straight away or even nearby, which as you don't directly walk straight into the restauraunt would have been nice. One thing I noticed straight away was the high amount of staff in the store and most of them were students, I've never seen so many young people working in one place at once, there probably wasn't a single staff member over 25 which is an interesting observation. I liked how the store had two small stands with water and fizzy drink machine as well as some sauces and cutterly, this is especially needed in such a large store and made it easier. When my food came originally, it was drowned in sauce, when I had to pick it up to put it on my side plate to send it back to the kitchen (as it was cold), the sauce just seemed to drip everywhere and even the plate underneath the chicken was covered, it was sliding and rather unpleasant. My chicken which was originally served cold was returned to me back as a new piece in a few minutes, it still had slightly too much sauce and I also didn't like how they wouldn't put my sides under a hot plate or something similar to keep it cold, as obviously I ordered sides to go with my food, not as a starter. A large Nando's store which was almost full - they had so many staff on that even being almost full shouldn't have affected them but sadly it seemed like it did with the food and waiting time seems to be much worse than other branches, I also don't like the fact they serve halal chicken either and don't even offer regular chicken (I understand some people need halal but why not offer both?). 2*

Especially on Sundays in the city centre. I was both hungover and tired which made it even better. I needed food, every single place selling food was busy. Bad times. We went over to the Printworks because everywhere else was absolutely rammed. We walked through and surveyed the chain restaurants around us, settling on Nandos as the best of a bad bunch. My friend I was with is a fussy eater and Nandos let you pick exactly what you want so it was a winner in our eyes. You know what to expect in Nandos, you pretty much seat and serve yourself, they just do the cooking. I think that's why I was surprised to be met at the door by a very happy and friendly door host who escorted us upstairs to the child-free area (what a great idea, other restaurants take note!) and gave us some menus. Of course we still had to go to the till and order ourselves but the guy there was equally as happy and helpful despite things getting really busy. Our food was served promptly and was really good, exactly what I needed. The other servers were dead helpful too, you really expect minimal service here and what we received was above and beyond. I went back on Wednesday and it was just as good again. Maybe this branch is just a lot better than others but I know for sure I'll be back again before I actually finish my Christmas shopping!

Unlike the other branch on Parsonage Way, this store follows the old Subway layout, the one benefit this store has over the other is it is slightly closer to the town centre including the bus station and shops, being located near Boots on Bradshawgate. When I entered the store, I was told to wait with no explanation and I had to wait a couple of minutes to even be served, this made no sense as there were two staff members working, there was a man in a black shirt who I'm sure was a manager/supervisor but he seemed to make mistakes you'd associate with a trainee, not only making me wait (no one else was in the shop at the time) to the point I considered leaving but he also - Despite telling him my order more than once, confirming it, he didn't seem to listen, I must have asked him to add tuna 3 or 4 times before he finally realised it, due to the combination of tuna, ham and cheese. - He put my bread down on the counter with no sheet, this could have caused cross-contamination issues and just been unpleasant - He messed up the first set of bread, by ripping it, he went into the back to replace it, again with no explanation... (due to the gluten free bread being frozen it is hard to break apart sometimes) The store also wasn't clean, it just seemed dirty, with food around the edge of the containers, and the floor was a mess, which considering how quiet it was and the fact due to UK government legislation, people aren't dining in, making little sense. When I did get my sub, it was fine, it was average, I've had better and I've had worse, it was the typical price I'd pay of £4.89 so that wasn't too bad. 2* - Poor Subway Store in terms of service and cleanliness, I probably would use the other branch in Leigh in the future, which is also open later, that store closes at 9 pm while this location on Bradshawgate closes rather early, at 5 pm.
