Great mudslides, mediocre food, nice views and helpful staff. I got a Greek wrap with the Nancy fries and two mudslides. The wrap was simple and as expected of a wrap but fries let me down. The seasoning seemed a big generic and sometimes overwhelming at times?? Hard to explain and I'm someone who loves spices and loves seasoned fries but I ended up wishing that I had the regular ones. Best lobster roll in Martha's vineyard hands down! It was delicious we ordered a warm lobster roll, jumbo fried shrimp, and 1.5 pound lobster. This lobster roll was so good the second I finished eating it I was already thinking about when I could be back to order another one. First of all, eat outside downstairs. The indoor restaurant is a different menu and not worth it. We recommend it to all our guests and we eat there frequently. Great location on the water. The prices have been creeping up but the food is still good. The Mediterranean food is especially good but anything on the menu is good. Obama has been known to eat there. read more

Every year my mom and I stop at Donovan's Reef for the Dirty Banana frozen drink. This is a super small bar right outside of Nancy's and you can usually spot it by the Jamaican music coming from it or the line. There is only one bartender who works here, so things do move a little slower but it is worth the wait. It is a great place for people watching as you inch forward in line and prepare for your delicious cocktail. The Dirty Banana is almost like a dessert -- They are known for it, so if you like bananas and chocolate, I highly recommend grabbing it and enjoying the dock views after. read more

Nancy is a go to spot in Oak Bluffs while visiting Martha's Vineyard. We took the ferry over from Hyannis while vacationing on the Cape a few weeks ago. We all brought bikes over and biked and swam around that area of Oak Bluffs. That created quite the appetite and I knew of just the spot to go. We used to go to the vineyard ( pre kids ) every summer and spent much time at Nancy's . Kids even thought it was cool to see a couple of secret service vehicles driving on the island as the president was on vacation there. Now down to the good stuff. Nancy's has 2 spots to get food the lower level ( snack bar) for take out and eating at their picnic table . The 2nd floor is their sit down restaurant that has a dinning area , lounge , bar and the outside patio and bar. We sat outside which has a great view of the harbor and all the activities. We started with Nancy's shrimp which is sautéed with garlic scallions tomatoes in a wine butter sauce served over crostini. Flavors were well put together and shrimp cook perfectly. Very delicious . Paired with some Cape Cod beer my fish sandwich was lightly fried and hit the spot. The service was great . The kids enjoyed their fish and chips and burger. Too bad Nancy's is a boat ride away , but we will be back next summer . read more

First time on the Vineyard this summer and ordered fish and chips. What i got was horrible, tasted like pre-frozen bought breaded fish, flat fish, tasted like poor quality bland tilapia?? This is an excellent place to grab some frozen drinks and sit outside by the waterfront to do some people watching. It's a great location to see all the boats come in as well as watch the day tourists arrive for the day. The breeze by the ocean makes it comfortable to sit. The line for the specialty frozen drinks can get quite long but they are delicious ! Nancy's is a staple and is not to be missed on an island, just go and try the Dirty Banana made with fresh bananas and tia maria. The bartender is comical and entertaining. read more

3 broke college students wandering through Edgartown in search of enough sustenance to revitalize themselves from their long ferry and bus ride.... Their one goal; to find food that wouldn't make them take out yet another loan. After what seems like eons of scouring the island for an affordable shnacc, they uncover an oasis amongst the seas of pastels and vines... NANCY'S SNACK STAND (not the upstairs). The food was **so good**. The falafel wrap (minus tomatoes), corn on the cob, fries, BLT, and gyro brought us the back from the dead. Not to condone underage drinking but the dirty banana from the bar next door LOOKS really good. A beautiful area and the view of the ocean was fantastic..... but the food was average at best. My entree was the broiled seafood with string beans and rice. The broiled seafood was plain, dry and luke warm. I was starving and only mustered 3 bites before dropping my fork. The baked scallops were slightly above average but could have been much better if not for the lack of preparation (I could have done better at home with scallops from my grocery store). We had the shrimp fries for an appetizer and for our main meals my wife had the baked scallops and I had the lobster Mac and cheese. I wish I could give them fewer stars because of how bad Nancy's was. I went with my family and usually when we go we have little to no problems but this time it was different. The food is very overpriced and the waitress was very rude and she even coughed on us without a mask. When our food came the problems only became worse my brother ordered the salmon and the bottom was charred and he had to get the manager over to ask him to redo the salmon. Great Mussels! I've been here a few times now, each time trying something new. Their lobster roll was good, but I haven't had another one on this island yet. This time I went with the plan of ordering an appetizer and a beer. The mussels were amazing! Big enough to share for two, the size of the portion and the sauce was definitely a win. And like when you order fries and find a few onion rings at the bottom of the bag, Nancy's even snuck some big shrimp under the mussels, and they were a delicious surprise. Raiser snack bar prices by over 100% from last season. Been coming to the island for years. Nancy's snack bar used to be a great place to get food because it was decent and reasonably priced (for the island). This year they have raised their snack bar prices by 100%, some even over 100%. It is now no longer in the realm of competitive. Most of their price increases have made it comparable to or even more expensive than lookout, and lookout is 1000X better. The fried seafood was very good, and the fries were fairly standard, but I can't give this 4 stars, because they are not taking proper precautions with Covid 19. The front of house staff are all being very safe with their interactions with the customers, but the outdoor dining area and drink line was very unsafe. It had devolved into a mosh pit of unmasked customers, and my wife and I felt too uncomfortable to eat our food at the establishment, so we left for the village green. 4 stars for the food, kind and attentive service, but no organization or control over the hordes of clients who were shoulder to shoulder without masks. read more

I was originally going to stop by The Red Cat Kitchen for dinner but I am so glad that I decided to go with the suggestion that my Uber driver gave me to eat at Nancy's instead. This place hit the two main points perfectly: great service and great food. There are actually two parts to this place: the oyster bar downstairs and the restaurant on the second floor. It's so convenient since it's right next to the pier so you're going to get a great view from the outdoor patio on the second floor. The food here is perfect, not too overpowering in flavor but just enough to be perfect. I ordered the BBQ chicken Caesar Wrap with the salad on the side and the wrap was just so yummy; spicy and not too creamy at the same time. It hit the spot. My family got the fish-n-chips as well as the Roasted Half Chicken Herb Roasted Chicken Topped with Sauteed Wild Mushrooms and they were wowed. The fish-n-chips were fresh and the sauce on the chicken was superb. The service was very nice and very quick as well. When we notified the waitress that our glasses needed water refills, she apologized profusely and filled them immediately.
