The food is very overpriced and the waitress was very rude and she even coughed on us without a mask. When our food came the problems only became worse my brother ordered the salmon and the bottom was charred and he had to get the manager over to ask him to redo the salmon. Great Mussels! I've been here a few times now, each time trying something new. Their lobster roll was good, but I haven't had another one on this island yet. This time I went with the plan of ordering an appetizer and a beer. The mussels were amazing! Big enough to share for two, the size of the portion and the sauce was definitely a win. And like when you order fries and find a few onion rings at the bottom of the bag, Nancy's even snuck some big shrimp under the mussels, and they were a delicious surprise. And make sure you try their signature Dirty Banana frozen concoction! It's like a banana flavored mudslide and it's a perfect treat! All this and it comes with a gorgeous view. Raiser snack bar prices by over 100% from last season. Been coming to the island for years. Nancy's snack bar used to be a great place to get food because it was decent and reasonably priced (for the island). This year they have raised their snack bar prices by 100%, some even over 100%. It is now no longer in the realm of competitive. Most of their price increases have made it comparable to or even more expensive than lookout, and lookout is 1000X better. Five of us went there with my elderly handicapped mother, we waited for a exorbitant amount of time and then right before we were to sit, they gave our table away. The 2 hostesses and the 30 something man, who I assume was the manager, told lie after lie and were very rude. We left !!! The fried seafood was very good, and the fries were fairly standard, but I can't give this 4 stars, because they are not taking proper precautions with Covid 19. The front of house staff are all being very safe with their interactions with the customers, but the outdoor dining area and drink line was very unsafe. It had devolved into a mosh pit of unmasked customers, and my wife and I felt too uncomfortable to eat our food at the establishment, so we left for the village green. 4 stars for the food, kind and attentive service, but no organization or control over the hordes of clients who were shoulder to shoulder without masks. read more

This is an excellent place to grab some frozen drinks and sit outside by the waterfront to do some people watching. It's a great location to see all the boats come in as well as watch the day tourists arrive for the day. The breeze by the ocean makes it comfortable to sit. The line for the specialty frozen drinks can get quite long but they are delicious ! Nancy's is a staple and is not to be missed on an island, just go and try the Dirty Banana made with fresh bananas and tia maria. The bartender is comical and entertaining. read more

Tuna melt was good but on the bland side, and the onion rings were rather thin so it tasted more like the coating than actual onion. They have a cute bar shack with an enthusiastic bartender which really upped the ambience of the outdoor area. Everyone was getting the dirty banana drink so we tried it too. And it was AMAZING! I was originally going to stop by The Red Cat Kitchen for dinner but I am so glad that I decided to go with the suggestion that my Uber driver gave me to eat at Nancy's instead. This place hit the two main points perfectly: great service and great food. There are actually two parts to this place: the oyster bar downstairs and the restaurant on the second floor. It's so convenient since it's right next to the pier so you're going to get a great view from the outdoor patio on the second floor. The food here is perfect, not too overpowering in flavor but just enough to be perfect. I ordered the BBQ chicken Caesar Wrap with the salad on the side and the wrap was just so yummy; spicy and not too creamy at the same time. It hit the spot. My family got the fish-n-chips as well as the Roasted Half Chicken Herb Roasted Chicken Topped with Sauteed Wild Mushrooms and they were wowed. The fish-n-chips were fresh and the sauce on the chicken was superb. The service was very nice and very quick as well. When we notified the waitress that our glasses needed water refills, she apologized profusely and filled them immediately. Great place to eat with awesome AC to hold you over during the hot summer days! We came in for lunch at a busy time & were told we needed to wait about 25 min to sit inside or sit outside immediately. It was much too hot to sit out and the AC inside was amazing lol but it was a much shorter wait & was only 10 min! We ordered the sashimi bowl & fish sandwich, both were so good! Our second time here. Couldn't remember our first time so can't speak to that experience. This one, however, could have been better in some important areas. Read on to learn more... The good: The reception upon entering was warm & friendly. The table placement was great (perfect view). The servers: We had two for shift change over. Our first server was friendly and attentive. Our second server was equally friendly and attentive but fell shy in one small area (see below in the MEH column). The Cocktails: Both were rated good (Pina Colada and Mudslide frozen).5 The MEH: The food. Average to mediocre at best. Had salads w/protein and a burger. The protein on the salads was heavily salted and had a very light dressing (almost undetected). It wasn't too flavorful so thus, the MEH rating. The burger was also not super tasty. The Price: Way over priced for what you get. A $27 Greek salad (chicken not filet for protein) is a little obscene, in my humble opinion. Our second server part B: while pleasant enough, rushed our table. Now, let me put this into perspective for y'all....We are typically SPEED eaters, like it's our profession. we don't linger and dilly dally or elongate anything at a dining table. So, when our waiter rushes us, it's borderline obscene because if we were there an hour (and we had cocktails w/our lunch) I'd say that would be a generous timeline. I'd say we timed in more around the 45-50 min marker from start to when the waiter started sweeping things off the table and setting down the bill wanting to cash us out and complete our 'dining' experience. Would I go back? Maybe for a cocktail with a view, but not for the food. Would I recommend you try it? Sure, why not. Be sure to weigh in so this venue can accurately navigate what they do well and what they can improve upon. read more

Love Nancy's and eating outside at picnic tables but this year we decided to eat upstairs on the upper deck since we had our daughter, SIL, and their toddler with us. When my DH & I arrived, we requested a table and were told we would NOT be seated until everyone arrived. We told the hostess our DD & family would be arriving shortly and was again informed that we would NOT be seated until everyone arrived. As tables were being grabbed by parties arriving after us, we nicely asked if we could be seated since we had a little one. She completely refused. I had to call my DD and tell them to get moving fast! Talk about stressful. This hostess was so unhelpful and unaccommodating. I know they have their rules but, come on, lighten up and bend them a little. By the time my DD arrived, one table was left. Just be forewarned. No tables without the entire party present! Not what I expected? Came to Martha's Vineyard with family and stopped by Nancy's for lunch. We were so excited to eat since it was our first authentic meal. We ordered the two types of lobster rolls they offered, traditional lobster roll and the warm lobster roll, as well as the Fisherman's Platter which consists of fried shrimp, clam, scallops, fish, and french fries. I understand this is a tourist spot and things get expensive, but I was disappointed. Our total was around $80, and it didn't leave any of us full, we were all still hungry after. The lobster rolls are half of the size you would get in New York, and surprisingly, New York's lobster rolls tasted better?!? The lobster rolls lacked flavor, but were fresh and plentiful, and the bread was stale. The Platter was only a plateful and only because the fried ingredients were stacked high. There is "scallops" in the platter but there was only ONE scallop?!?! How can something priced at $34 not even have all the ingredients in whole. Yes this is a famous restaurant, but that doesn't mean they don't have to serve a decent amount of food. Every item ordered lacked flavor and wasn't seasoned properly, and I'm not someone who typically loves my food drenched in seasoning or sauce. I have eaten here upwards of 4 times and each time has been consistently mediocre. Especially in the summer it is very crowded and overpriced, great tourist spot and great in a bind however I would not choose to eat at Nancys. The upstairs portion of Nancy's is nicer and more sit down style while downstairs is more cafeteria style with picnic tables. Donovans reef always seems to be crowded with 20 something year olds overpaying for drinks. Parking will always be impossible in Oak Bluffs so expect a walk to all restaurants in this area. It is a great spot if you're on vacation or looking for something cheap, but the high prices and the tourist crowd turns me away from Nancy's. read more
