I own a 2013 Fiat 500 Lounge which I brought in for a 10:00 appointment at Nanaimo Chrysler in Nanaimo, B. C. for warranty work on September 29, 2014. On that particular morning there was an accident on the highway which caused a traffic snarl that I was caught up in. I had enough respect for the staff that I called about 9:50 and spoke to the girl in the Service Department telling her my situation and that I would be a few minutes late. She thanked me for calling. I arrived at 10:10 and the same girl I had spoken to on the phone (I'm sorry I didn't get her name), remembered me from my phone call, and filled out the work order. I asked when the car would be ready. She didn't know so she got Tim to talk to me. He said that coffee breaks were happening and there was some clean up needed to be done, probably around noon. He asked if I would like shuttle service which I declined and said I would wait. He was kind enough to offer the lounge area in the waiting room and hot beverages. I went and sat there. At 11:00 I noticed my car was still parked where I had left it so I went back to the girl in Service, told her the time and asked why my car wasn't in the shop. She looked for my work order and found it 3rd in the pile. She said she would get Tim which she did. He took the work order and went into the shop. He came back saying someone would get to it right away, which happened. I finally left your dealership at 1:15. I was put out as my time is also valuable, time is money, and I would have chalked it up to just "one of those things".
Except that the Monday prior, my husband Bill took the same car in for it's regular maintenance, an oil change and tire rotation - something that could be done in 30 minutes or less at any Jiffy Lube. He had an appointment for 10:30. He arrived at the dealership 20 minutes early to get the paperwork done as he was a first time customer. He also declined the shuttle service and stayed. At 11:00 he noticed the car was still where he had parked it so he went to Tim and asked when the car was going into the shop. It wasn't until 1:42 that the car was finally ready.
This dealership shows little if any respect for their customers and presumes you have all the time in the world to wait. They need to manage their appointment scheduling alot better.
An email was sent to the Dealer Principal, Brian Neal on Tuesday, September 30. 3 days later and I have not yet had a response nor an acknowledgement, again, showing no respect for the customer. It starts at the top....
One star is far too good in my humble opinion. We will not be repeat customers at this dealership. read more
