I bought a truck from Bouman and it needed a new thermostat and brake fluid. If they didn't know…read morethe brake fluid was low then they probably didn't check the truck very much. And the change oil came on the next day even though they said they checked it and it was clean. And after I brought this to their attention they wouldn't do anything. Not even a simple oil change. They are definitely not thinking about the customers after they sell the vehicles. I was very unimpressed. They need to work on customer service.

I called once at 9:15 am, and the guy who answered yelled at me and told me to stop calling before they opened at 9:30. I was looking for a specific car, test drove a few, then during an inspection I found that the rear differential was knocking LOUD. I took it to my mechanic for a repair quote (in the thousands) so I brought the car back, Walter Bouman asked why I wouldn't buy it, I explained what was wrong, and he flew off the handle, screaming that my mechanic was an idiot 'druggie' who didn't know a lick about cars. The same day, out of desperation i test drove a car that had clearly been submerged in salt water, as there was a huge line of salt on the interior of the car, the panels and hinges were severely rusted and the younger guy stated that 'he didn't know the history on his cars, they get them at auction' The next time I went there, I called in advance asking if they had a particular make, i got a reply that 'yes, we have several in stock' only to drive all the way to Nanaimo to find that they did not have that car, nor this fictitious three cars in stock, they tried then to put me in some pieces of crap that they promised were 'JUST as good as the one I was after' These guys are scary shady. Stay away.

A typical macho place. I had a very bad experience purchasing a used car. At my first appointment,…read morethe salesman was meeting another customer at the same time. Then another employee put pressure to get me toI sign the paperwork. When I complained to the manager, he doesn't seem to care about how his employees do things. Finally, I probably would end up with a better financial agreement if the request to the banks had been made more than just two hours before my appointment to pick up the car. In the past, I spent a lot of money in repairs at their shop but from now on, I will go to another place.

BE WARNED OF THIS DEALERSHIP…read more We purchased a used Golf from this dealership in 2014. Five days ago we were driving home from Victoria to Courtenay when the car began to stall on us anytime we slowed down to a stop or had to go up any sort of incline from a stopped position. This happened when we were just outside Nanaimo and were able to make it to the VW dealership for servicing. They did a diagnostic, determined it was a worn out ignition coil, and they replaced it. They charged us $450. We left the dealership and got back onto the highway only to realize that the car was acting exactly the same way. Nothing had been fixed! Even though it was not safe because of all the stalling, we were able to make it back to Courtenay. When we contacted them and asked them for some - ANY - kind of refund, because they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THAT FIXED THE PROBLEM, they said there's nothing they can do. All they did was misdiagnose the problem and charge us $450. Just a reminder, we purchased this car at this dealership. Is that how you want to be treated as a customer who spent thousands of dollars purchasing a car? It goes without saying that we will never, ever, use them again. I would strongly suggest that if you're looking to purchase a VW, go to Courtenay or Victoria. Be warned that they do not take customer service seriously.

DON'T SERVICE YOUR CAR HERE…read more We purchased a car from this garage in August 2019. The purchasing went smoothly and we were happy with the service we received at the time. We were reassured that the 2nd hand car we purchased had been fully serviced in every way. Fast forward 9 months and we book the car in for a check-up. At the check-up, they immediately do a wheel alignment which apparently needed to be done straight away, even though this is not something I'd ever noticed driving the car previously. This ran us up $450, after which they presented a further quote for $2,200 of work that needed to be 'urgently' done. This is a significant bill to be presented with less than a year after buying the car and was over 25% of the total initial cost of the car. We decided to look into the quote a bit closer and have found the prices to be completely extortionate, and that's making the assumption that these changes were actually needed in the first place (nearly 2 months on from the service and the car is still running fine, despite the 'urgent' fixings that were apparently needed. Furthermore, after driving away from the service I was actually stopped on the highway at traffic lights to be informed that my skid guard was dragging along the floor. Yup, the mechanic didn't even screw the skid plate under the car back properly and it was dragging along the ground. I had to run the car down to a different car garage on my lunch break from work to get it fixed. I'm not instilled with much confidence in the service at this point but unfortunately, it gets worse. One of the items they said needed to be replaced was the cabin air filter. We purchased one online and thought we'd do this job ourselves. This would have been fine, except the screw for the air cabin filter is now completely threaded. So either the mechanic threaded the screw when checking and didn't bother to replace it, or they did not check the air cabin filter at all and therefore didn't notice the threaded screw. I emailed all of my concerns to Mazda and have given them over a week to respond, but just tumbleweeds at this point. I'm sure that they are not the only garage preying on consumers like a pack of hungry wolves, but this level of negligence and dishonest practices is totally unacceptable. We will never be giving Harris Mazda our business again and strongly advise looking elsewhere for your automotive needs. We will be getting the car checked by a local mechanic. It will be interesting to see if their view of the car matches up with what we were told. I'll update the review if there are any further updates in the coming weeks.

They ran diagnostics and found the error code P1BA4 was set. Their recommendation was to replace the EPCU at a cost of $9K. The Quick Charge Relay was also found out of spec. They informed me that the Level 3 charging should NOT be used. I decided not to repair the vehicle and only use it locally. On September 9th I took the EV in for a Level 1 Maintenance. During my discussions with the Service Advisor I found out that Harris could obtain a used EPCU for $765. I decided to go wth this and it was installed October 11th. The error code stayed ON. Cost for this $1K. On September 18th the Quick Charge Relay was replaced at a cost of $1.5 K. The error code stayed ON. They now recommended replacing the Battery Management Module. I said enough is enough. I felt like I was being led down he garden path. After spending $2.5K the car was in the same condition it was in back in May. The Level 3 Charger was use at your own risk. Their method of troubleshooting is called The Shotgun Approach. Keep changing parts and hope you nail it eventually. This is a great way to troubleshoot a problem since the cost of reinstalling the parts on an EV is just about as much as installing them. Kia definitely don't have good diagnostics and their local technicians abilities are questionable. I decided to search the internet and try to find someone else that had the same problem. I was very lucky. I found an article in which another owner had the Service Warning Light come on after doing a Level 3 Charge and error code P1BA4 set. The fix was do a 2nd Level 3 Charge and the code is reset and charging system works fine. It worked. We did not have full use of this vechicle from May until the end of September. This is the 3rd Soul we have purchased from Harris Kia! Would I buy another car from Harris Kia? NO! Would I recommend this dealership I guess NOT.
