Made an appointment for the next day, came in had the work done quickly and expertly. They were very easy to deal with and I will definitely go back in the future should I need work done on my windshield.

My interaction with Island Breeze and Bill Craig was the worst customer service experience of my…read morelife. We had an issue with an awning we purchased from Island Breeze about 4 years ago. I called Bill on a Wednesday morning, which went to voicemail where I requested a call back. Thinking that Island Breeze may no longer be in business as he did not respond I contacted the manufacturer directly on Thursday morning and they advised me to reach out to island breeze as they were still in business and their local distributor. I did email Bill that morning and finally got a response late Thursday night requesting photos which I did promptly. On Saturday I sent another email to Bill as I had not heard back, and he responded that it was Saturday, and rudely responded, asking how fast did I expect his supplier to respond. When I told him the only reason we were talking on Saturday is because he didn't answer my call on Wednesday, and then asked if I was from Alberta, meaning he got the call and likely the message but chose to ignore it. He then went on to tell me how busy he was and that he was dealing with a death in the family and that I was being totally annoying. Had he left a message to that effect on his phone or email anyone would understand, and I could have made other arrangements. He did however in his distraught state send me an invoice on Sunday morning for what I'm not sure. On Monday morning I reached out to the manufacturer and they immediately got the information they needed and a replacement part was ordered. The issue was I was leaving Vancouver Island for about 6 weeks at the end of the week and they weren't able to send it in time for me to replace the piece before I left. My awning was fully extended and I was unable to retract it and would have to leave it extended and exposed to further damage in the event of wind. Had I just ordered the part myself on the previous Wednesday it would have arrived in time, but thanks to Bill Craig's incompetence it sat like that until I returned. Thankfully it sustained no further damage. Bill went on to claim that I hadn't given him information he asked for, and that I was unreasonable to deal with. The facts are the only communication I ever received was his request for photos followed by couple more rude and ignorant emails. I dealt with the manufacturer directly from that point which I wished I had done in the first place. You'll see similar reviews, avoid doing business with Bill Craig and Island Breeze is my recommendation.

Also he was supposed to rectify the crank to the left side from the right which is what we ordered. Try and communicate with this guy is a challenge as he seems to have frequent meltdowns! Try DOUBLE the rate for the move out...estimated at 6 hours and took 11.25. Try a move in crew that apparently could not read and left clearly marked FRAGILE boxes under tool boxes in the garage. Or boxes marked KITCHEN in the garage. Or bookshelves left at odd angles and not up against the walls. Add to that being verbally threatened by the guy in charge and you may understand why in my opinion you should stay clear of this company. I paid way less 3 years ago to have 2 5 ton trucks move me over here from Maple Ridge.

Mazda dealership in fact suggested going here as it was probably something to do with some kind of broken seal that they would likely send out anyway and I'm so glad I did! John, the owner, could've gouged me for a lot more money like most dealerships would have and I never would've known. Instead, he was honest and straight up. Had the problem figured out in about 10 min, told me to go buy the parts myself and save their markup, and it would be an easy fix he'd have done in about half an hour. True to his word, I was in and out, and all for an EXTREMELY reasonable cost. I also have a cracked driver's' side mirror that I've been avoiding fixing as it was too expensive through Mazda, but I've now ordered one through Apple as I know it'll be another fast and easy fix. Being new to Nanaimo, so happy I lucked out finding these guys on my first repair and can't recommend them enough. Love "service" businesses that get that taking a little less up front almost always guarantees long-term relationships in the end. I will definitely use Apple for any other repairs and wanted to take a minute and commend them for their excellent service, rates, and honesty. You generally assume you're being screwed somehow when it comes to most car repairs. Really nice to leave an auto shop with the exact opposite feeling. Keep up the great work!
