They make pretty much every drink you would want. I always get the Caesar's when I come here they make it very good, they used to put a slice of bacon in the past but they removed it. I really love the nann here, my favorite is the garlic one, I also love the butter chicken and the sagg lamb. My favorite 2 dishes. Also the tuna tataki mango salad is very refreshing The creme brulee is very good This place also has a hidden bad inside that's downstairs. They also are open during lunch time and have a separate lunch menu. They also sell their sauces frozen that you can take home and make food out of the comfort of your home. I definitely recommend this place. In the summer they have a small terraces that they build in front. Service is always good here, Yan is the best. Rex the owner is always very friendly and the cooks aswell. This place is good for small or big groups.

It's towards the top of Old Montreal so we had a nice walk to and from the restaurant. We were greeted by the host and sat down immediately. The restaurant inside was very pretty and had low lighting to make it look very intimate. I'd definitely consider Veranda a fine-dining Indian restaurant. We ordered the samosa tarts and malai chicken tikka from the appetizers and both were absolutely delicious! We also ordered mango lassi, butter chicken, and garlic naan (all automatic orders for us when we go to Indian restaurants) and none of them disappointed. However, we were a little disappointed that they didn't have a few menu items that we see back home or at other Indian restaurants like onion bhaji, pakora, biryani and tandoori chicken. The only complaint we had was the service wasn't that great. Our order was taken a few minutes after viewing the menu and the staff was very friendly but after we finished our appetizers, we felt neglected as other tables were served their food and we were waiting 25-30 minutes to get served our main dish. We had to let the server know that we were done our appetizers and ready for the main dish. I'm not sure if this is normal in Montreal or at Indian restaurants in Montreal? Other restaurants we were served our courses immediately one after the other, with maybe 5-10 minutes in between. It wasn't busy either for a Wednesday night where they only had 3-4 tables. Regardless, we would recommend Veranda to anyone craving Indian food who wants to eat in Old Montreal! The food is delicious!

Full transparency, I have not been a fan of Indian food in the past. Granted, this was based on a…read morebad meal experience about 20+ years ago. Circumstances made me try this place. Freezing rain and staying at the Best Western hotel where this location is housed made it risk worthy. Let me tell you: WOW! First dinner I had the Chicken Dum Biryani. Aromatic basmati rice layered with tender marinated chicken, saffron, ghee, and whole spices, slow-cooked in a sealed pot for a fragrant, succulent one-pot feast. This was marvelous. Layered spices were fantastic. Two days later, same weather and I decided to try a curry. Not just any curry, but the "spicy" Chicken Vindaloo. A spicy, tangy Goan curry made with marinated chicken, vinegar, and fiery red chilies, creating a bold, tangy, and spicy dish with layers of rich, complex flavors. The server even asked me "this one is spicy are you OK with it?" Hey, I'm all in at this point. And it was fantastic! It was spicy, but a deep, rich, flavorful spicy. Not the kind of heat/spicy you get with ghost pepper chicken wings where your mouth and throat get blisters. It didn't even make my lips tingle. Had some Naan bread with it and I was in heaven. Service is quick and efficient. And this place gets crowded, even on a Tuesday night. I come here often as my company's HQ is two blocks away. Now I can't wait for my next trip!

You will know it's good as soon as you walk in. Trust me! Large portions and great flavors.read more

Montreal's most magical dining experience!…read more If you're looking for a reason to book a trip to Montreal, let me give you one: Tula. My husband and I visited during a recent trip to the city, and without question, it was the best meal we had -- and honestly, one of the most memorable dining experiences of our lives. From the moment you walk through the door, the space wraps you in warmth. The atmosphere is inviting, the decor puts you instantly at ease, and the staff greet you with the kind of genuine kindness that's increasingly rare. But it's Abhi and Renata (apologies if I've misspelled either name!) who truly make this place something extraordinary. These two are the heart and soul of Tula, and their passion for what they do radiates through every single aspect of the experience. We spent a few wonderful hours there, and I mean that -- the time just melted away. Renata sang for the entire restaurant, and her voice was absolutely stunning, a spontaneous and beautiful gift to everyone in the room. Abhi, in the most generous gesture, sat down and hand-wrote a list of vegan restaurant recommendations from around the globe for us to take home. These are people who love what they do and love the people they do it for. And then there's the food. Oh, the food. We started with an Indian taco special that set the tone perfectly, then moved on to the Tofu Achari Masala curry with chapati and the Dal Sambar with steamed rice -- both absolutely spectacular. We finished with a special pistachio cake dessert that was the perfect, dreamy ending to the meal. Every single dish tasted like it was made with genuine love and intention, because it was. This is vegan Indian cuisine at its very finest. I left Tula feeling something I didn't quite expect: greater faith in humanity. That might sound dramatic, but if you go -- and you absolutely must go, as soon as possible -- I think you'll understand exactly what I mean. Don't wait. Just go.
