I dropped in during lunch. I played safe and ordered the Thali. The food was served on a metal tray. The portions were reasonable. Everything tasted great. The sauce for the butter chicken was slightly thin. I enjoyed everything else.

Indian resto bustling with people! Kids had the butter chicken thali which was a good deal. We also tried an indian appetizer (puri pari) with mango lassi. Ordered a tasty mild lamb dish (had to order rice and naan on the side since it is not included in the price), and the sizzling chicken tikka/pork + naan dish. Wasn't able to finish!

Great service when it not so busy (special days) Naan is fluffy but getting smaller and smaller Flavor is always stable Sauces are nice Portion/price is reasonable Senior staffs are good, but newbies need more training... If they know you, they will serve you better Choose the seats that are not close to the aisle Environment is alright Although not truly authentic but worth trying when you are in Montréal!

Chicken vindaloo (**very spicy)

Came here for dinner with friends, there are other restaurants in a 100m radius but we chose this one because the naan was cheaper (highly NOT scientific reasoning). We were 4 and we enjoyed our meal bere. I ordered the regular naan and the chicken vindaloo. On the menu, it said "super spicy", I still ordered it since normally I can take spice pretty well. When I started eating it, it WAS VERY SPICY *beware* : my mouth went numb throughout the night but I still managed to finish it. I also tried the butter chicken and the lamb curry which were very good. Taking off 1 star because of the mediocre service even though there was only around 20 people and 3 waitresses working on the floor & they forgot to cook 1 of the dishes so my friend had to wait a while before getting her butter chicken.

Good food.

I love their dal makani. In my opinion it is the best I've ever tried. Their service is welcoming and efficient.

Aloo gobhi : cauliflower and potatoes cooked with spices

I love this place so much! My favourite spot to get my Indian food fix. (probably the best in town) My last order was vegetarian due to religious reasons ( "temporary" vegetarianism on preassigned dates as a rite of abstinence or purification. ) . Malai Kofta 5/5 Aloo gobhi 4/5 Paneer vindaloo 5/5 The description of makai kofta on ubereats is: dumpling made of fresh vegetables and cheese in a cream sauce. So, in my asian mind I was thinking of a stuffed dumpling but to my pleasant surprise it was more of an american style dumpling- a ball of dough cooked in a sauce/broth. It was so flavourful and amazing. The curry was so creamy it was like eating a vegetarian butter chicken! Aloo gohbi was also very good just too oily. Paneer vindaloo was also delicious! I usually order the chicken vindaloo and the paneer was definitely a good chicken substitute for me since vindaloo curry is spicy the paneer helps balance the spicy and slightly sour curry. I always order the chicken vindaloo, chicken biryani and butter chicken all of which at 5/5! 100% recommend.

Non-Veg Thali

There was many seatings inside and it was clean. The service was also efficient. You do have to go pay in front. Food was good aswell. We got the non-veg thali and samosa chaat. The samosa chaat was quite flavorful and had some spice to it. The thali was a big portion for the price, so it was definitely worth it. The different food in the thali tasted good aswell. However, as an Indian, I didn't find it to be spicy. Still enjoyable! Overall, a great spot if you want good Indian food at a good price

My family and I have been going to Maison Indian Curry countless times. Every second Saturday, at work we order food via UberEats, and today it is supposed to be Indian food. We zeroed down to Maison Indian Curry. I ordered way too much. My chaat papri was huge as an appetizer. It looked like a meal. Sadly the papri (spicy chips) were stale, and I was disappointed. My paneer tandoori was delicious but super heavy inside my belly, and with naan combination, it was perfect. My experience at the restaurant is better and the food tastes better than delivery or take out.

Vegetarian Thali & Chicken Biryani
Rabbiya A.

Continuing my search for legitimate Pakistani & Indian food in Montreal, I decided to order from Maison Indian Curry for Lunch after reading the many many positive reviews. We ordered a Vegetarian Thali & Chicken Biryani. I was pleasantly surprised by the Chicken Boneless Biryani. It tasted home made, had all the right flavours and had good quality ingredients. The 4 stars are for the Biryani. The Thali was disappointing. It had Black Lentils/Daal, Paneer Curry & Mixed Vegetables Curry. The Daal tasted good but Paneer Curry didn't taste fresh & the Vegetables Curry was made using frozen veggies. The Nan was okay as well. However for something listed as a Chefs Special on Uber Eats, it was a bit underwhelming to receive something so average. Coming to terms with the fact that this restaurant will have hits and misses on their menu. Will definitely be ordering the Chicken Biryani again and recommend it to anyone craving Pakistani/Indian Biryani.

Chaat Papri and Bhel Puri
Azizah H.

First and foremost, whenever I go to an Indian restaurant, I always order everything non-spicy. Personally, I don't like when food is so spicy that I can't taste the actual flavours of the meal. The "Chaat Papri" was amazing!!! I loved it so so much!! The "Bhel Puri" also tasted good but it wasn't for me as I had preferred the Chaat Papri. I thoroughly enjoyed the non-veg Thali. Butter chicken was sweet and soft. The Aloo (potato) Gobi on the side is wonderful too. The Naan was nice. They could have added a Chutney to the side for the Chicken Tandoori and rice because it is dry without it. What I found unique about the non-veg Thali compared to other Indian restaurants, is the sweet yummy Rice Pudding on the side. My mother ordered a Chicken Dosa and she requested non-spicy but they had added several fried red chilli's in it but she removed it. Thankfully it wasn't spicy! She enjoyed it too. Mango Lassi was creamy, thick and delicious! Tasted like actual mangoes and not the fake artificial ones. The service was slow because it was quite busy but the waitresses were nice and I made sure to tip them as they were working very hard. I will definitely come again! Thank u for a wonderful experience Maison India!

We came here on our anniversary and accidentally (on purpose) ordered wayyy too much food and it was fun and glorious. The service was sweet and a little flustered. We had no problem ordering and getting water and our bill and stuff but we saw some other tables around us having trouble. It's a joyful chaos in my opinion and you need to be in a laid back good mood to enjoy it. Skip it if you're not feeling that. The food is high quality and delicious. Sometimes Indian food destroys me, which I don't blame on the food but on my crazy-person insides. But I had no issue at all here. There's tons of spice, the flavours are layered and delicate, the breads gorgeous and fresh. All in all, I'm super thankful to Yelpers for directing us here when we searched for vegetarian Indian! We've both tried a ton of different spots making great food in this area and our hopes were high and we were delighted.

Samosas and mango lassi
Katya P.

I've had cravings for Indian food so after a bit of research and recommendation from a friend, I had to try this place. I've been twice in the past week now and can definitely see myself as a regular. Tasty, affordable, lots of choices in a low key setting, although it does get loud and cramped. Maison Indian Curry is very popular, people stroll in for take out and meals by the minute it seems. I've tried their chicken saag, butter chicken, kabab naan rolls, shrimp biryani, dal makhni (lentils in a creamy sauce) and vegetable samosas which were all delicious. I love that their currys aren't watered down, sauces are always rich and great for dipping. The mango lassi is a must, especially for someone like me who doesn't tolerate spicy food very well, this thick yogourt drink helps cool me down instantly. My only concern was that service can be a little slow and the prices advertised aren't always what you end up paying as servers are prone to making mistakes. All their orders are written on paper and then they add up the final price manually on a calculator, there were some disparities. Samosas are listed as 2$ on menu, I paid 1.50$ no complaint there, and they even forgot to charge me for another order of it, but then the kabab roll cost me a dollar extra. Everything is pretty cheap but if you're ordering a multitude of things, be careful of inaccurate orders! Note, this place takes debit and cash only. And it is NOT a BYOW restaurant. We saw a couple people show up with bottles, probably confusing Indian Curry with another Indian competitor from across the street.

Non vegetarian thali (chicken). perfect for one!
Maggie K.

A decent Indian restaurant in the midst of busy streets. Stopped by for early dinner and was surprised to see how all the tables were occupied. Luckily we got a place quickly. Orders took quite sometime coz of the busy hours I guess. I got a non vegetarian thail. My husband got a vegetarian thail. Yes, thali served for dinners too here. The veg thali had two vegetarian curries, one black lentils curry plus roti n plain white rice. On the other hand the non veg thali had one starter (tandoori leg) one veggie curry (black lentils) and one chicken curry plus rice n roti. The quality was good and the quantity was sufficient for one person. The price is quite reasonable. It's crowded during lunch and dinner time, make sure you stop by early so that you avoid waiting. One down point is that the place is filled with tables you have to swish in between to sit down.

Butter chicken Chicken korma Onion badji They are so fresh and YUMMY!!

It's towards the top of Old Montreal so we had a nice walk to and from the restaurant. We were greeted by the host and sat down immediately. The restaurant inside was very pretty and had low lighting to make it look very intimate. I'd definitely consider Veranda a fine-dining Indian restaurant. We ordered the samosa tarts and malai chicken tikka from the appetizers and both were absolutely delicious! We also ordered mango lassi, butter chicken, and garlic naan (all automatic orders for us when we go to Indian restaurants) and none of them disappointed. However, we were a little disappointed that they didn't have a few menu items that we see back home or at other Indian restaurants like onion bhaji, pakora, biryani and tandoori chicken. The only complaint we had was the service wasn't that great. Our order was taken a few minutes after viewing the menu and the staff was very friendly but after we finished our appetizers, we felt neglected as other tables were served their food and we were waiting 25-30 minutes to get served our main dish. We had to let the server know that we were done our appetizers and ready for the main dish. I'm not sure if this is normal in Montreal or at Indian restaurants in Montreal? Other restaurants we were served our courses immediately one after the other, with maybe 5-10 minutes in between. It wasn't busy either for a Wednesday night where they only had 3-4 tables. Regardless, we would recommend Veranda to anyone craving Indian food who wants to eat in Old Montreal! The food is delicious!
