They make pretty much every drink you would want. I always get the Caesar's when I come here they make it very good, they used to put a slice of bacon in the past but they removed it. I really love the nann here, my favorite is the garlic one, I also love the butter chicken and the sagg lamb. My favorite 2 dishes. Also the tuna tataki mango salad is very refreshing The creme brulee is very good This place also has a hidden bad inside that's downstairs. They also are open during lunch time and have a separate lunch menu. They also sell their sauces frozen that you can take home and make food out of the comfort of your home. I definitely recommend this place. In the summer they have a small terraces that they build in front. Service is always good here, Yan is the best. Rex the owner is always very friendly and the cooks aswell. This place is good for small or big groups.

But I decided for the Murgh Malai Tikka. I thought it was going to be similar to Tandoori chicken since it was cooked in a Tandoori oven, but it was a plate with 12 pieces of white meat chicken chunks marinated in yogurt (I know that's what the description says, but I was hoping that it was closer to a red Tandoori chicken). The food was good, but I am not a fan of white meat chicken. It was my fault, but the service and the overall experience was good. Many choices on their large menu.

It's towards the top of Old Montreal so we had a nice walk to and from the restaurant. We were greeted by the host and sat down immediately. The restaurant inside was very pretty and had low lighting to make it look very intimate. I'd definitely consider Veranda a fine-dining Indian restaurant. We ordered the samosa tarts and malai chicken tikka from the appetizers and both were absolutely delicious! We also ordered mango lassi, butter chicken, and garlic naan (all automatic orders for us when we go to Indian restaurants) and none of them disappointed. However, we were a little disappointed that they didn't have a few menu items that we see back home or at other Indian restaurants like onion bhaji, pakora, biryani and tandoori chicken. The only complaint we had was the service wasn't that great. Our order was taken a few minutes after viewing the menu and the staff was very friendly but after we finished our appetizers, we felt neglected as other tables were served their food and we were waiting 25-30 minutes to get served our main dish. We had to let the server know that we were done our appetizers and ready for the main dish. I'm not sure if this is normal in Montreal or at Indian restaurants in Montreal? Other restaurants we were served our courses immediately one after the other, with maybe 5-10 minutes in between. It wasn't busy either for a Wednesday night where they only had 3-4 tables. Regardless, we would recommend Veranda to anyone craving Indian food who wants to eat in Old Montreal! The food is delicious!

The lunch buffet had both vegetarian and non veg offerings. I took a picture of everything but the basmati rice which was good. The standout items would be the mulligatawny soup, the butter chicken curry, the tandoori chicken which was super tender and well spiced and the lamb curry which was perfectly cooked. For dessert they had three choices and I tried them all. Gulab jamon was nicely spiced and not too sweet with a firm crumb. And the rice pudding was standout delicious with large green cardamom pods visibly floating in the pudding. There was a melange of other spices too. It was very nice. I want to mention there were layered spices in all the food which is the mark of a good chef. The price was very reasonable at $30 cad. With tax it was $5 more. Perfect for a super fresh and delicious lunch. I could not eat all the offerings but what I had was all good. I did not like the samosas. Too much potato. And I would have liked more peas and spices. The fruit in the fresh fruit cocktail was fine and chilled in an ice bath.

We must have come during a time that was not so busy as it was very easy for us to be seated. The dining room is beautiful, with white table clothes at each table, and great service to match. Since my stepsister is vegetarian, we all ordered a variety of vegetarian appetizers and entrées to share, as well as a few cocktails and glass of wine. I thought the garlic tandoori naan pretty good, but I REALLY enjoyed the yellow dahl tarka I ordered, as well as the samosas, and all the chutneys and sauces. The servings sizes are generous but not too much. We also had the paneer masala which was great. No complaints and I can't wait to return!

They have a separate drink menu, and the wine was pretty good, especially for cutting through some of the spice and heaviness of the food. We started with the Chili Garlic Broccoli which was also our favorite! Just the right amount of crispy with great sauce and seasonings. We then had one of the Gobi dishes because we also wanted some fried cauliflower. I want to say it was either the 65 or the Chili. Also spicy and delicious. My sister had the Butter Chicken fries which were heavy but so good and smothered in curry. I had the paneer tikka I believe which was a large serving and we also shared a curry with chickpeas (Chana masala?), rice and garlic naan for the table. The naan was excellent and I'd come back just to try the other kinds they offer. Service was a bit slow but the authentic food here made up for it.

We started with the crispy corn and onion pakora apps. Both great, but either would have done the 3 of us. Then South Asian lamb curry, chicken saag (coconut spinach sauce), and butter chicken biryani. Each absolutely delicious. We ate maybe half each dish, and just had another great meal of the leftovers. Our server was very helpful and friendly, and the place was full of happy customers; lots of business lunchers. The room is fine, though weirdly lit (combination of warm and cold lighting). One thing to be aware of is they were out of whole pages of the 15-page menu. So I would suggest asking first. They told us the South Asian lamb curry would be extremely hot, but either they were overcautious or they toned it down because it was fine. So I hope you enjoy it!

They have quite a bit of variety on the menu and it was difficult to choose but I finally decided on the sampler platter and my mom ordered a dish with black chickpeas. The black chickpeas are typically spicy but they toned it down for her and it was perfect. My sampler had six small dishes and a dessert with rice in the middle. Every dish was better than the last and the dessert was perfect, not too heavy. The service was very attentive, friendly. The restaurant seems very clean and had a cozy and comfortable ambience. I'm no longer in Montreal, I will return here when I am back and I have already told my Montreal friends they must try this place.

It is a small menu, but everything looked very tasty. Between 4 of us, we odered a thali, a Lasooni Dhaniya Tofu, Vegan Butter Chicken and Vegan Tikka Masala, along with mango lassis. The waiter let us know that since it was close to closing, they would only make us tofu, not the chicken substitute. Disapponting, but we understood. The lassis came out and they were by far the best mango lassis I had ever had. So favourfu ad vibrant! The dishes arrived and all the sauces were divine! We all sampled each other's and were very happy. The tofu, however, was underwhelming. They did nothing to it, just added it to the lovely sauce. It wasn't seasoned or marinated, it was very gelatinous, which wasn't appetizing (especially for non-vegans, which two of us are, who are not used to that, but happy to try it). The place is small and charming, and the food came out quickly, and fresh. Minus points because the bathroom was actually quite dirty and needs a realy good scrub and a coat of paint.
