    Chicken Korma

I hadn't been here in quite a while, and it was great to stop in again. The korma is my go-to, and it was perfectly flavorful, with a generous serving size. Our first naan wasn't right, so the waitress pointed it out and said she'd get another one. Great lunch!

Food was very good. Really enjoyed the Non-vegetable Thali. It's a lot of food for one person so come hungry

Vegetarian combo plate. I got a spice level 3..definitely could have done level 5.

Really enjoyed my dinner here. It was the best food my friend and I had during our stay in grand junction actually. The food was incredibly flavorful, and the service was really friendly.

So I basically begged my family to eat here with me on our little road trip and I'm so glad they agreed. The interior could use some work, but we were comfortable enough and enjoyed our dining experience. The service was lovely and very friendly. We had great conversations with our server and felt welcome right from the get go. Chicken Tikka Saag. I've ordered this dish at many Indian restaurants and unfortunately it wasn't my favorite here. It just didn't have that distinct savory, spinach flavor that I'm used to. Chicken Bhuna. This was the best dish by far. The tomato flavor was perfect and all the extra goodies were scrumptious. Chicken Chau Chau. Great savory flavor with just the right amount of soy sauce. My sister actually enjoyed this and that's saying a lot!

Stopped in Grand Junction for dinner and found this strip mall family restaurant, highly reviewed. The restaurant is large, clean and the dacor is typical for a Nepalese/Indian establishment. Large menu to choose from. We decided on the Sizzling grill for two and lamb momo.. The chicken and shrimp were very good, the lamb tasty but a bit chewy. The vegetable korma was the best I've ever had, and the garlic Naan was excellent. Service was prompt and very friendly. Give this nice family restaurant a try. Only one complaint, the restrooms were a bit dodgy. Not terribly clean, lots of "stuff" stored in them, and the paper towel dispenser was empty.

Kashmiri Naan. Photo is from Namaste Nepal website--we devoured it before I could photograph it.)

Wow! Namaste Nepal is going to be our go-to restaurant when visiting Grand Junction forever after. We had ordered takeout after a day of visiting wineries. I am vegetarian and had the Baigan Bharta, described as "grilled eggplant with fresh tomatoes, onions, and green peas in a creamy sauce." It was so delicious that I looked up recipes for it so that I could recreate it. I don't often do that! My husband, the carnivore, had Chicken Karahiwala and was similarly laudatory about that. We enjoy spicy food and ordered level 7--right on target. We also had Kashmiri Naan, "baked leavened bread with cashews, raisins and cherries" which is not too be missed, ever. We did not dine in, so can't comment on the service, but we are fans and return customers for sure! We also did not have wine or beer as we had already fulfilled our wine quota for the day, but it appears from the notes about Namaste Nepal that they have a full bar. A Palisade Gewürztraminer would be a great pairing for a Namate Nepal dish of level 7+ spiciness!

A hot cheeto is spicier than medium. Calamari: husband says it was tender and hot (temp) Naan: crispy and fluffy. Got the garlic. And cheese. Cheesy was a bit crispy and added extra texture and umami flavor Lamb vindaloo: so flavorful especially since the potatoes absorb the sauce. If you have never had this, it's a bit vinegary and u can taste the garlic and the ginger Chicken korma: a type of curry that's creamy and flavorful. I tasted a lot of cardamom and ginger. Very warming spices. Mint chutney: my favorite chutney and it didn't disappoint. Fresh herbs to cut through the richness of the food Mango lassi: a MUST. u know I always skip this because normally the yogurt is too sour or the mangos taste too artificial. But OMG this is so good. Not sour at all. Creamy and not overly sweet. Tastes like blended mangos with yogurt. I am lactose intolerant and I will gladly get the runs for this Waiter was very kind. Saw mostly people come in for take out but it's a good place to sit in as well. Very homey feel to it. Will be back again when we are back in MOAB.

We ordered a mango chicken salad to start that was an absolute new experience, but in a great way. The mango on top of the salad was hot, like maybe it had been grilled, and the chicken was maybe done in the tandoori oven (?)...delicious! The garlic naan was scrumptious! Super crunchy in areas, but light and tasty. However the chicken tikka masala was not good. The masala had a very strong spice (maybe star anise) that overpowered the whole dish, and I didn't enjoy it at all, but my hubby liked it. We also ordered the lamb biryani, that we were told could not be ordered mild, so we went with medium spice and we could manage that level. Not too spicy for us, and we are wimps ! Service was very efficient and quick! Not my favorite Indian experience, but not really bad either.

They had the robot back server that seriously motored to our table with our server in tow to remove the food from the robot to give to us. I really wanted this review to be about the food and not the gimmick but----So we started with the MoMo's. Fried, (or you can have them steamed) kind of delicate, half moon, dumplings filled with your choice of filling (chicken for us) with a flavorful dipping sauce. Every bite of the appetizer and lunch special (chicken masala and chicken vindaloo) was better than the last. The flavors opened up as we ate and we spoke about trying more Nepalese restaurants. I will say as much as I enjoyed this meal, as much as I loved its authenticity, the place itself was not memorable. Decent. Kind of weird. Will go back but also grateful that the food was so good it makes me want to investigate further this delicious food!
