Ordered: Aloo Papri Chaat (~$9)…read moreGol Gappay (~$9) White Chicken Karahi (~$31): chicken curry stir-fried in karahi with white cream, yogurt, and spiced with roasted cumin and coriander seeds Plain Basmati Rice (~$7) Plain Tandoori Roti (~$3) Kashmiri Chai (~$4) Aya's take: This cold weather has me craving curries & spices more than ever before so we stopped at Lahore for a quick lunch. Lahore is a Pakistani restaurant which is honestly not common to come across (compared to Indian restaurants). The interior is nicely decorated and we were seated immediately. We got 2 appetizers, Aloo Papri Chaat and Gol Gappay. The Aloo Papri Chaat was cold, loaded with textures and flavors, and even some slight sweetness. It was enjoyable but not sure I would gravitate to this again. The Gol Gappay was beautifully presented with a similar flavor profile to the Aloo Papri Chaat. It's great for sharing and more of a playful appetizer. I've never had Karahi before and although maybe not the traditional version, we opted for the White Chicken Karahi. It was mild, savory and creamy. It took ~30 minutes to prepare as the menu states and they don't skimp out on the chicken. For the price point, I would say the portion is reasonable. The chicken was tender, buttery, and aromatic. My only complaint is that it wasn't served with anything so we had to add some Basmati Rice and Tandoori Roti on our own dime. I think it should come with at least one complimentary side dish considering it's an entree. We ended with a Kashmiri Chai. It's a pink-hued tea that actually gets its color from the chemical reaction between the green tea & baking soda. All this time, I thought it was rose! It was garnished with pistachios and had hints of cardamom and cinnamon spices which I enjoyed. Good try overall!

We have been loyal customers since Lahore Restaurant has opened and are grateful for having a local…read morePakistani restaurant with good quality food. It's unfortunate that I have to post this as I feel despite us voicing our concern (multiple times) in person with the staff and also on the phone when ordering take out, the staff is not trained and do not take certain dietary restrictions seriously such as food allergies. After having a child who suffers from peanut and egg allergies, whenever we have dined or ordered from here as of lately, we have politely asked for certain food not to be served together and prepared properly. After expressing this, the staffs answer is rude and with an attitude and us being told "ok i'll just put it in a separate plate" after it being cross contaminated and served. Then during a take out order when we called to alert that there is an allergy, to please ensure the food is properly handled and packed separately from egg-containing items, we were told (specifically by Jaspreet) it is already prepared and packed, so the best that can be done is taken out and packed separately instead of adhering to the urgency of the matter and re-preparing the food. Our child broke out in hives due to their negligence in the past and I fear that their inefficiency to understand the seriousness of this matter will one day result in legal action being taken against this establishment if God forbid someone else has a reaction or worse a Fatality. My post isn't intended towards the quality of the food, it is more so to be heard and create awareness on this matter as it seems this establishment can care less towards your health needs. Update: We were contacted by ownership (Ishrath) and accused of being in the wrong and were met with disrespect and advised not to come to this establishment anymore as they cannot meet our "crazy demands." We should have been heard out, which was explained to co-ownership (Sobia) a few minutes after my review was posted, that this wasn't a personal jab towards the establishment however has happened to us on multiple accounts, specifically from staff member Jaspreet the past two times in a matter of two weeks. There was no apology on the matter, just defensiveness in a "sweet tone." This is more so a validation that despite us voicing our concerns multiple times in person, it has fallen on deaf ears and it is unfortunate that we have had to go to such extremes as posting this to be heard. Since my post, we see the attempt to have our post buried, and quite frankly hope it made a difference, albeit they have lost our business however we know the restaurant will still thrive. Still wishing them the best of luck and hopefully prevents any future consequence on this matter.

I got two meals out of mine. I got the gyro platter and it probably was one of the tastiest meals I've had in a long time. I thought the chicken was seasoned and flavorful. But by far, the best part was the white sauce. I would pair it with the mango lassi and it was such a great explosion of flavors - both savory and sweet. I will say they ask whether you're okay with onions and raisins in your platter. I liked them but I know raisins might not be what most people prefer to add to their rice. Service was fast. You can either order at the front table or at your seat. They got the food in a reasonable amount of time. The place looks small from the outside, but when you walk in, there's a back room worth of 30 people worth of seating. It's extremely cozy inside. There's also a parking lot right next to the restaurant and also across the street. The lot right next door is kinda small though, so you might need to loop around. Parking shouldn't be a problem and you can get a really good stop if you're lucky.

I got the regular fried chicken sandwich which looked impressive. It was quite good as well although I liked the roll more. Service (5/5): Friendly and helpful service. We didn't realize the combo and just adding fries were the same price and they let me still have the combo. The food came out at approx 10ish min and we were checked up a couple times. They were generally very helpful with all requests. Ambiance (5/5): I really liked the Pakistani decor of the restaurant. It had a really nice vibrant vibe.

My absolute go-to in Secaucus for authentic vibes and fresh eats!…read more I keep coming back to Food Street because it's easily one of the most authentic spots in the area. The Paneer Tikka Roll is my personal favourite , the paneer is incredibly fresh, soft, and perfectly spiced every single time. It's wrapped in a flaky, house-made paratha that makes a huge difference. Beyond my usual, the Gappa Chaat is a must-try if you're with a group; it's tangy, crunchy, and beautifully presented. The ambience is vibrant with cool murals, giving it a modern street-food feel that's great for a casual date or family dinner. The service is fast and the staff is always welcoming. If you want high-quality food that feels like it's straight from the streets of Lahore, this is the place!

| Deeply Disappointed -- What Happened to Baithakh?…read more Baithakh used to be one of our favorite go-to spots in North Brunswick. We've always enjoyed the food, but unfortunately, something has definitely changed since our last visit -- and not for the better. We ordered several dishes, including the Baithakh Seekh Kebab Roll, Crispy Fried Chicken Burger, Beef Paya, Beef Nihari, Peshawari Mutton Karahi, and Chicken Malai Boti. To our surprise, nearly everything was a letdown. The Beef Paya and Peshawari Mutton Karahi were both swimming in oil and severely lacked flavor, which was shocking considering how good they used to be. The Fried Chicken Burger had decent seasoning, but the chicken itself was tough and rubbery -- almost inedible. The Chicken Malai Boti was okay, but even that wasn't as tender or flavorful as we've had here before. Maybe they've changed chefs or recipes, but the quality just isn't the same anymore. Baithakh had never failed us before, but this visit was a major disappointment. Sadly, we're giving it a 2 out of 5 stars. We hope they find their way back to the standard that once made them great.

Since Yemeni coffee and tea options aren't common for everyone, they take the time to explain the menu and answer questions, which I really appreciated. However, the Adeni Chai was the only saving grace of the visit. It was flavorful and well made, but the coffee was a massive disappointment. I tried the Jubani after the staff described it as a delicious light-roasted coffee packed with caffeine, but in reality, it tasted like bland cardamom water with absolutely no coffee flavor or body. It felt like I was just drinking hot spiced water. The atmosphere was also a major issue as there was no seating available whatsoever. The crowd was mostly of Middle Eastern descent and many were incredibly rude; people will bump right into you and not say a word. Even worse was the way some customers spoke to the workers, it was absolutely deplorable. Honestly, who raised you? It was uncomfortable to witness. The dessert selection was even worse. Most of what we ordered felt stale and old. The only thing worth eating was the bubble dessert with cheese because they actually toast it. We tried both the pistachio milk cake and the pistachio dream cake, and neither was impressive. The khattafi in the pistachio dream was the biggest letdown; it was so stale and bland I can't believe they actually put it out to sell when it was clearly weeks if not months old. The basboosa was also a disappointment, as it was a very small square of semolina cake for almost $5. Overall, It is not a good place for coffee or desserts, so if you do go, stick strictly to the Adeni chai.

The place was packed with a lot of people enjoying their evenings with their families and friends, so that was nice to see. After waiting in line for less than 5 minutes the staff took our order. It came in two cups without dairy but I feel like adding cream would have made it more viscous. We didn't find a table to sit at as it was busy but found a bench to share space. Everyone was super chill and we even were given extra almond oat milk to add. I didn't finish the whole cup but it was a memorable experience.
