Took me back to my roots in Lahore, Pakistan and was overall a 10/10 experience with the amazing and hospitable service they gave me and accommodate us quick while being so busy. The food had to be top tier too we tried their chicken Karahi, gol gappay, mojitos, butter chcicken mix grill and varieties of naan and it all tasted so delicious I even packed 2 bags of takeout for the week! Also they were so kind to give me kitchen access so I can film videos and got a few very nice shots of food/ambiance/and vibes with my camera. The interior is also very well decorated to match the city of Lahore which topped it all off. Honestly this had to be my favorite Pakistani restaurant in all of NJ and I'll definitely be back with more friends and family!!!

We tried the Tikkaville sandwich and medium-spicy tenders, and both were good -- crunchy, spicy with a very manageable kick, and filled with tender, juicy chicken. There are a few areas that could make the food even better. The tenders have a dry, crunchy breading that tends to fall off the chicken, and since most of the seasoning is concentrated in the coating, the chicken itself can taste a little bland. The chipotle dipping sauce definitely helps. The Tikkaville sandwich has a great concept, but the tikka sauce could use some refinement. It leans a little acidic; I think a creamier, smokier, butter-chicken-style sauce could make the sandwich richer and much more crave-worthy. Prices are reasonable and the ambiance is nice, although you can constantly hear the fryer running in the background. It's a self serve concept so not much to report here. I really admire what Namkeen is trying to do -- it's a creative concept with plenty of potential. With a little more refinement and consistency, I think it could go from "good" to something you genuinely crave and keep coming back for.

The place looks small from the outside, but when you walk in, there's a back room worth of 30 people worth of seating. It's extremely cozy inside. We ordered several dishes, including the Baithakh Seekh Kebab Roll, Crispy Fried Chicken Burger, Beef Paya, Beef Nihari, Peshawari Mutton Karahi, and Chicken Malai Boti. To our surprise, nearly everything was a letdown. The Beef Paya and Peshawari Mutton Karahi were both swimming in oil and severely lacked flavor, which was shocking considering how good they used to be. The Fried Chicken Burger had decent seasoning, but the chicken itself was tough and rubbery -- almost inedible. The Chicken Malai Boti was okay, but even that wasn't as tender or flavorful as we've had here before. Maybe they've changed chefs or recipes, but the quality just isn't the same anymore. Baithakh had never failed us before, but this visit was a major disappointment. Sadly, we're giving it a 2 out of 5 stars. We hope they find their way back to the standard that once made them great.

Chicken - much better! juicier and no gamey flavor. each one is about 6 inches long.
