Here for the first time today. I understand they opened a month ago. Family from Pawcatuck. I hope they do well, not the greatest of locations. Found it to be EXCELLENT! We had the appetizer, Roasted Brussels Sprouts which was excellent and not at all spicy. And also had the LUNCH PORTION of Pineapple Fried Rice. Also EXCELLENT! A very generous portion for $6.95 and a nice combination of ingredients and a good flavor. What is especially nice these days are generous and chunky pieces of chicken. (not shaved pieces as in some other places) That's all we had today but so glad to have a great Thai place nearby. Thai Thong near the RR station also good but very happy here. Closer. The owners were very gracious and the place is very neat. We hope they do well, not the greatest of locations. You won't be disappointed here! It only saddens me that I'm 3.5 miles from here...so I'm out of the delivery range. Oh well. read more

I travel central and southern Laos for a month in 2019; loved the varied food dishes and was so surprised to enjoy a similar experience at Nam Khong!!!!! Check this place out if you're in the area - it's unfortunately only open Thursday through Sunday but it's worth it. Very friendly service and the food delicious. Came here for the second time today with my fiancé. Everything was incredible. Service was excellent. We ordered Thai teas, fried Brussel sprouts, pineapple fried rice, mango curry, and finally the Khoa Soi. Everything was absolutely delicious and served promptly after ordering. They are a small business with not many servers so they do the best they can but in my opinion everything here is on point. We have had Thai food all over both coasts of the US and this place is hands down top 5 for us! read more

This restaurant is such a hidden gem!! We decided to try it last night and I'm sooo glad we did!! We ordered take out and got the fried brussel sprouts, crispy chicken wings, Laotian Style Pho, and Khao Soi. All four were AMAZING!!! Excellent food. I have been meaning to eat here for 3-4 months now. I was shopping nearby and decided to give Nam Khong a try for dinner. This is before I read the Yelp reviews. I had four spring rolls for an appetizer. Very well made. The ingredients were very fresh and typical of the spring rolls I have eaten in Asia. Next came the main course...I forget the name, but I believe it was a traditional Thai dish. Chicken, fresh mushrooms, green peppers and carrots in a slightly spicy sauce. This was served with steamed rice. This rice was different. Much softer...was it steamed longer? I don't know, but no complaints at all. The service was excellent and my total bill before tax was a little over $21. This included a Thai ice tea with unlimited refills. I'll eat at Nam Khong again. Very good food. Great location. Good prices. Friendly staff. read more

Nam Khong has become our go-to Thai place. Amazingly accurate "it'll be ready in x minutes" estimates - we do a lot of call-ahead for pickup and it is already ready right when they said. Haven't sat down and eaten in the restaurant, but their service for call-in and pickup is friendly and professional. As a vegetarian, I appreciate their range of tofu options - in my experience I've received a good amount of tofu each time. Entrees are good enough for one person to spread over two meals (most of the time - I'm occasionally so ravenous that one entry hardly seems sufficient for a single meal). They have Khao Soi! The soup was fantastic, would have preferred an egg noodle over rice noodles, but thats only a preference. I loved the addition of fried shallots and the portion was huge (i got two meals out of it). It brought me back to my time spent in Chiang Rai. Can't wait to try the rest of their menu! read more

This restaurant is simple and profound. It's next to an Allstate in the middle of a strip mall but don't let this deter you. I was the last person to eat at Khoa Soi tonight and the food was phenomenal. Every once in a while a meal is more than just a meal and it's impact is nurturing in a way that is almost hard to describe. I had taken a drive tonight to the Rhode Island coast from Boston to clear my head and find a tranquil beach to stargaze - this place popped up on yelp. When I sat down the owner had such a welcoming presence and clearly took pride in his restaurant. I was the only one there (it was close to 10pm and him and his wife were about to eat themselves). When I asked him what to order, he mentioned the khoa Soi, and said that he himself ate it almost every day. The dish was masterful, the kind of dish that makes you shake your head in disbelief even 10-15 bites in. Prepared by his wife, with a recipe brought over from their home country of Laos, it was unlike anything I've ever tasted and really divine. As I finished eating the owner thanked me multiple times for coming in, we spoke about the dish's origin, and he gave me some tips about how to garnish the dish next time. I left replenished and grateful. It was a special meal and a special moment. Stomach and heart full, I went to watch hall beach and laid out next to the waves and the stars feeling totally content. I'm disappointed to say that Nam Khong has terrible customer service. This was my second time ordering from here and was excited for the take out that I ordered the first time. When we got it home, the seafood wasn't fresh in our dishes and I got the wrong broth in my pho. I ordered the "very spicy" on all dishes; however none had spice. We called the restaurant and told them about the order and talked to Bonnie. She said that she was sorry about the order and that they would comp the order next time we were in because we live 40 minutes from Westerly. A month later, we called to put in the order and we told the owner about the situation and he told us that Bonnie doesn't work there any longer and he wasn't going to honor what she said. We asked that he at least give us a discount on the order and he said, "No." We will not go back to this place because the food is inconsistent and the customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with. read more

Normally don't leave Connecticut for work but decided to detour to try this place because of the reviews and man am I glad I did. Prices are fair service is very friendly but what it all comes down to is the food at the end of the day. I got the spicy seafood pad Thai and it was fantastic probably some of the best I've ever had. They were pretty disorganized today I believe their pilot light went out but still gave me an amazing affordable lunch and will return if I'm in the area again.
