Bottom line: Quality and flavor is highlighted by simple fresh ingredients. Prices are reasonable. FREE chips and salsa!! Starting off, the salsa is uniquely seasoned and in a good way. It's not too sweet and not too spicy. Fresh too. Beef empanadas were the only, minor, gripe. The dough wasn't the best but the filling was flavored decently. I'm not sure if the dough itself wasn't good or if they weren't maybe over-fried a bit. There are, however, many different fillings to chose from. Despite the minor gripe I would likely want to try them again with a different filling. The beef tacos were good. I requested diced jalapeños on the side and they were served fresh. You can get them fried if you like. Nothing to complain about with the tacos. The beef guaraches was great. The pico de gallo was fresh and flavorful. Fresh avocado was also tucked inside. We topped ours with sour cream. Finally, tres leches. If this is your thing then you won't be disappointed. Take away - freshly prepared and flavorful. The menu is worth exploring. I waited 1.3 hours for food even though Grubhub showed 40-50 min. Anyway, I ordered el pastor burrito, apple and cream cheese empanadas. The burrito was just okay. I didn't really feel it was well made. It doesn't have enough sauces inside it and the only sauce that came with the delivery wasn't great. We ordered Nally's through DoorDash because they had a free delivery offer, but WOW, we're so glad we stumbled upon them! Hubby had the el pastor burrito and I went with the chicken burrito. We agreed that they were the freshest tasting burritos we've ever had. I LOVE that they put whole slices of avocado in each burrito. It all was so delicious and very reasonably priced! 4 stars for the food at this hidden gem. 3 for the rest of its oddities. When you walk in, you have to order and pay before you're seated. Kinda strange but they must have a reason for doing that. The table we sat at wasn't necessarily clean and the rest of the dining room seemed to be the same. There were at least 5 dirty tables just sitting there. Speaking of the dining room area, it's jam packed with tables and it's tough to navigate to the fountain machine, let alone leave... Enough about that.. the food was solid. No frills to get in the way of this authentic Mexican eatery. Cheap AND amazing is the best recipe! I had the guarache, a thick tortilla filled with beans, cheese, avocado, tomato, sour cream, and onions. The menu is super helpful since there were items - like the guarache - that I didn't know about. It was fabulous in every way and humongous; I was too happy to save half for lunch the next day! My husband had an equally-ginormous veggie burrito. They are very accommodating to veg and include that option on the menu! Wtg!! We were driving back home to Illinois when we were coming up on Davenport Iowa and I decided to google the best "hole in the wall" restaurants near me, because we LOVE trying as many hole in the wall restaurants. We weren't disappointed! As you walk in there are coolers of drinks to your left, but they DO have fountain soda's around the corner, you just can't see them as you're ordering, therefore making you assume that you have to pick something from the cooler. Chorizo taco's are my JAM and these were pretty good! My husband enjoyed his chicken burrito smothered in queso. Four star food, one star experience. My food was solid, but holy cow the manager (I guess?) was a total ass to his staff and customers and wasn't wearing a mask and clearly wanted to fight you about it. The whole ordering experience is overwhelming and backwards if it is your first time - I was fortunate in that a regular helped me out before I ordered so I had an idea what to expect. The service was quick and friendly and the food was pretty tasty. Best authentic Mexican food in the Quad Cities hands down. It doesn't look like much on the outside but those are always the best places right? I love just getting their chicken tacos but everything else that I've tried on their menu is amazing as well. If you're a horchata fan then good news because their horchata is amazing, best in the QC and believe me I've checked everywhere. They're fast, delicious, and reasonably priced. Food quality is inconsistent. I'd eat here more often in spring, summer, and fall if there weren't SO many flies in the restaurant. It's really nasty and it seems no attempts are being made to control the problem. I know it's unsavory to watch staff use fly swatters, but perhaps they could hang sticky fly catcher strips in the kitchen? How do other restaurants control fly problems? ZERO STARS Pretty bad at the 53rd st store. 3 weekends in a row, I ordered 2 orders of 3 tacos, and guaracha, chips & salsa and a drink. I pick up the order and I have 1 order of tacos. I ordered the food at 5:30, they told me it would be ready in 30 minutes, got there at 6:00, it wasn't done. I had to wait 'til 6:32 before I got the order with missing tacos! The the manager said I can't have the 3 tacos unless I paid for it, I was planning on paying but her attitude was pretty poor. This was at their drive thru. I ordered delivery from Nally's and is pretty good. They're not too far from me so it arrives hot. I enjoy their empanadas, especially the spicy ham and chorizo. My roomie always gets the beef enchilada meal with rice and beans. Also, the burritos are huge!! Good flavors and very reasonable prices. I did order churros once and they were horribly stale and unedible. But overall they have good food and a huge menu selection. read more

Just had Nallys for about the 20th time and it's perfection as always. I had the steak tacos and they are hands down one of the best in the Quad Cities. Great food! Grungy atmosphere where it looks like everything was just thrown together and the man at the order counter was somber and unhelpful even though I mentioned it was my first visit. BUT..... if you can overlook all of that the food is really good! This was my first impression fyi. I will go back and try another dish. I had the chicken fajitas and my husband had the steak burrito. Fajitas were offered mild or spicy. I chose mild and I liked them very much. The burrito was about 1 pound but my husband said most of that was beans. He liked it, but will omit the beans next time. This place looks like it is a favorite of the locals. read more

Nally's Kitchen is not easy to find, but certainly worth the effort. Located on Rockingham Road across the street from the cemetary, there were no lights or obvious signage to guide us and it took a few minutes to ensure we were in the right place. When we did pull into the parking lot, it was clear that Nally's was bustling. The line to order was almost out the door. We chose our food, paid the cashier, then had a seat in the dining room. I picked a guarache and a beef empanada and I REALLY liked both items. A guarache is a cross between a soft taco and a quesadilla. Mine came with cheese, pork, avocado, and lettuce. It was excellent. The empanada was fresh, hot, and well seasoned. At $2, this was a pretty good deal and I could see myself returning for the empanadas alone. Nally's has great horchata. I didn't try the churros, but I'm really interested in doing so sometime! I'm glad we tried Nally's Kitchen this weekend! This was truly triumph of Yelp, as I would have never found or tried this place were it not for this website. The QC has so many excellent Mexican Restaurants.... Not this one.... Basics... not good, staff, ok, food..... Poor... It stays open due to the location as some people can't travel very far, but go to LaFlama or LaFinca ... easily 2 excellent choices in the area just 2 miles down. Beautiful and inexpensive food here. My Mexican friends told me it's like grandma's cooking. They're right. Flavorful and authentic food across the menu. Food is good. Interesting selection. Not such a great part of town. Prices are moderate, which since it's an iffy part of town doesn't win as well as if it had been cheaper. Take out available. Personally I'd prefer takeout from here. It's not an upscale place to sit down and eat with your family. But to that end I'd have loved it not thinking about cleanliness. Now I know cleanliness can make or break a place but I freely admit that if a Mexican place is too upscale I lose confidence in its authenticity... I tried the empanadas bc I love empanadas from my time in South America. I saw someone eating fajitas and was impressed at how good they looked. We also had a few other more mainstream offerings. All were very tasty. All in all I liked it. I'd go back. But I'd prefer takeout to eating in. read more

I kept hearing from friends that this place is a total dive. Not only was the parking situation weird but so was the ordering right when you walk in. I ordered the grilled steak plate to try out the meat and sides that come with it. The meat was so tough, and there was really hard bits that made my teeth really sore to chew through. Turns out that I actually chipped my molar on the food there! The food was mediocre but the quality was not all what it was hyped up to be.
