The food is reasonably priced and quite tasty. I eat there often as a group and they keep up well. We have a large group of friends (20-40) who meet once a month and that night we had 32 people. We warned them weeks ahead that we had problem with staffing at most Mexican restaurant, and the manager and her husband listened to us.This restaurant andthe cousin restaurant in Rock Falls are the ONLY Mexican restaurants that were able to get out orders out and not miss any orders. We were amazed and our entire crew was able to be seated in the same area with a long center table and booths to the side. Thank you from the guy you see most often and the one who talked to you about doing this, and Tom who was your contact. You made this an AWESOMELY enjoyable night. We will be back!!! read more

Dismissive staff, long wait times, loud kitchen. The food tasted ok, however we all ran out of our drinks early in the meal and they were never replenished. The real fun comes today. Three of the four of us have been having issues. We suspect the beans or the red sauce. read more

We're from San Diego and these are the BEST chille rellanos (Chilles Pablanos) I've ever had in my life!! My wife had the Fajitas and chicken enchilada (Chef's Special)....they definitely execed our expectations! Phenomenal Margaritas with great flavor selection. Oh my word this place is SO good! I got a frozen margarita that was really yummy and very reasonably priced so I had 2 without spending about $20 like at other restaurants. I got a combo platter with a taco, chili relents, tamale, and enchilada. I felt that the tamale was a little bit dried out but everything else was absolutely delicious! It was so good that I can't even knock off a star for the dry tamale. My husband got the Juanita combo and devoured it so quickly because of how good it was. There is a similar dish that he gets at a restaurant close to his parents house and it is at least 10x better, so he was very pleased. Everything was very reasonably priced and they have margarita specials on Thursdays and Saturdays. It's now in our regular rotation for when we go out to eat! read more

The food was adequate. I feel that this style of Mexican food is more American than Mexican. By no means am I an expert in Mexican food. Having said that I enjoyed my meal and the portions were good sized. The drinks were good and the prices reasonable. Spending the weekend at Fulton and we were starving for Mexican Food. We've been to El Tapatio before and we liked it a lot, so we decided to go back there to eat for lunch. Man are we glad! The chips were crispy and warm, and the sauce was just right. I ordered the Veracruze Plata and my husband had Steak Fajita Plate. For the amount of food served with our drinks, it was less than $20! For the middle of nowhere this is not bad. Service was attentive and quick. We started with margaritas that had a decent amount of tequila in them and decently priced...can't go wrong with that. The salsa was not spicy at all which I suppose is a pro for some but for us required a healthy dose of hot sauce. I had chicken fajitas...my total go to. Chicken was not seasoned but overall the dish was good. Lots of guac and good beans and rice. My dining companion had a chimichanga supposedly with spicy chicken but again not seasoned. So while overall in this small town I definitely give a thumbs up. read more

Clean and when we went it was busy! The staff was courteous. We weren't that hungry so ordered a la carte. The hard taco was good-looking wouldn't call it great but for Iowa, I'm not complaining. Will NEVER eat here again!!! Last time I went there I found RAW CHICKEN in my water glass and even got it stuck to my straw when I took a drink!!! I told an employee about it and he simply took my cup and gave me new water, without any apology or anything! When I finished my meal (which obviously I didn't feel like eating anymore) I was actually expected to pay full price after having a potentially scary salmonella run-in. I asked to speak to the manager, the employee said no, I insisted and said if I couldn't speak to a manager I would call tomorrow and speak to one. He then gave me my meal free but it's still Not enough to EVER make me want to return there!! Their restaurant is filthy and after having the problem with that chicken in my water I wonder how they even stay open. read more
