I love the food, but wish they had regular salsa. Very clean, fast service. Chimichanga was awesome.

Excellent food-- had it delivered. Will be ordering again. Taste and quality were on point.

This will always be a MUST stop restaurant for me when I come home. In mind, I tell myself I'm going to try a new spot, but I always end up here. I usually get one of two dishes, a large combination (carne asada) or a torta (carne asada). I moved to Dallas, Texas, where Tex-Mex is passed off as authentic Mexican cuisine. So, when I come home, I truly enjoy a solid meal at one of my favorite restaurants the QCA has to offer. Ronnie's pick read more

Great tasting Mexican food. Not overly salty. Good service. Great price and great tasting margaritas.

La Rancherita 2 is a great choice for Mexican food in the Quad Cities. Their menu is a good mix of authentic Mexican dishes and standard Mexican-American fare. They offer something for everyone at a reasonable price point and the service is always welcoming and friendly. Overall, I feel that the ambiance and service at this location is superior to that of their original restaurant, La Rancherita in Rock Island. The ambiance is more like a fast casual restaurant and less like a taqueria. It also has a better parking lot and the food is equally delicious, if not better. The steak burrito is my go-to. It's a a winner for lunch or dinner! A super-sized flour tortilla filled with thinly sliced steak that is tender and well-seasoned, beans, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and sour cream. Dine-in or takeout, it's consistently delicious and filling! From an operational standpoint, they have a couple of quirks to be aware of. First of all, it's cash only. They have an ATM in case you're not prepared. Secondly, the waitress will not bring your check to the table. It is awaiting your arrival at the cashier. This makes tipping the proper amount somewhat problematic unless you keep a running tally or like returning to the table to leave a tip. On the other hand, if it's your treat, it makes it convenient to discretely settle the tab and tip afterwards. read more

I've tried a lot of Mexican restaurants in the quad cities and they're my favorite. Their carne asada is the best hands down, their pastor is my daughter's favorite too. The salsas, the environment, and the staff are absolutely lovely. They also make the best rice. read more

Just had the chorizo taco salad to go. Fabulous. Can't believe this place has been down the street all this time. Lovely staff. Very clean cafe. Daily specials with reasonable prices. Chips were crispy and fresh with yummy pico. read more

What can I say, we probably get this place to-go at least a few times a month. It's consistently great! Our kiddos love the beans and rice. My husband gets the al pastor tacos and I get the carne asada tacos. The guacamole and chips are a great add on. YUM! read more

La Rancherita 2 - a plate of tacos and a bowl of guacamole - Mexican Near Me - Moline, Illinois

Burritos are always tasty. Guacamole is great. Arroz con pollo is flavorful but salty. Always fast. Check your order before leaving if pickup (they occasionally forget things like sides of tortillas, etc. Cash only. read more

yuck, terrible greasy wanna be tacos. I ordered "tacos al pastor" and the pork was saturated with fat, i just tasted them and couldn't even eat them. their chips and salsa tasted like water. their horchata was subpar, and service and ambiance not at all great. NOT AUTHENTIC MEXICAN AT ALL! read more

La Rancherita 2 - Patio - Mexican Near Me - Moline, Illinois

I use to go to the original location exclusively, but have moved closer to their newer place. I get the veggie burrito and they have complimentary chips. It's cash only!! Prepare accordingly. My son likes the beans and rice. I haven't had them personally, but I've heard their tacos are very, very good. I've been going to La Ranch for over 10 years, very affordable and a great place for a quick lunch. (The horchata is delicious.) read more

This is now my favorite Mexican Restuarant in the quad cities. There pico and chips is so delicious. I don't like uncooked onions, there pico have uncooked opinions and I have no problem eating it. There meats are properly seasoned and flavorful, burritos can serve two. read more

Its ok. The carne asada tacos were mostly fat and gristle. The service was fine but we wont be back.

Tacos al pastor are fantastic, the best I've had in town. I usually get a bottle of Mexican coke to go with it. Cash only, and they don't bring you a bill, your bill is at the register. The chips come with Pico de Gallo and it's HOT and delicious! read more

Some of the best Mexican food east of the Mississippi and west of Chicago! Great tacos and good service.

I love this building and the atmosphere in the restaurant. I will drive out of my way to get an order of their steak tacos. Nice staff and fast service in a very clean place. The only complaint is that they only take cash but at least there is an ATM on-site. read more

In town visiting my daughter, she picked this establishment. We went around 3 o'clock, not a usual high traffic time. The waiter was prompt, brought us our chips, salsa and drinks extremely fast. I would like to point out, their chips are the hard thick type, almost grainy, not sure if they are in house.. but not to my liking. I chose American tacos, only because at home we usually eat the more authentic steak, cilantro and onion type. Kudos on doubling up the corn shells when ordered soft! Also.. the ground beef was pretty good, had more of a black pepper flavor. The waiter now was delightful. He went above and beyond his job, I had mentioned his margaritas looked good. Personally I've never enjoyed margaritas, he swore to me I would like it and brought me a sample of both a standard margarita and a mango. The standard was good, and if you are one that loves those sweet drinks I think mango might be calling your name. Thank you for the visit, I might stop again on my many trips back home read more

La Rancherita 2 - American tacos, soft corn. - Mexican Near Me - Moline, Illinois

First time in town and this place caught my eyes, fell in love as soon as the food came.

The street tacos and green chili sauce is really tasty. It's a pain to eat here though because they're one of the only local places that don't take credit. So you end up having to use the ATM inside and get charged a high transaction fee any time you want to eat here and then you're walking around with random cash afterwards. Just put a credit card machine in and throw out the ATM machine. People don't carry cash anymore. read more

I had always enjoyed eating at both La Rancherita's locations previously but in the past year have noticed a sharp drop in food quality - the legendary "fresh-made" pico is now consistently mushy and flat-tasting. There now appears to be no real seasoning in the meat servings besides outrageously-high amounts of sodium)! The aging lettuce now lies limp and brown-stained upon their tacos with too-old stale shells. The servers have always been aloof and seldom present but now appear to have honed their skills at ambivalence and dismissiveness to an unprecedented high level completely ignoring the customer after serving their foul meal. The restaurant's long-standing refusal to accept alternate forms of payment (cash-only here), has always seemed uncaring and arrogant and sadly has finally compelled me to take my business elsewhere. read more

Best Mexican food in town based on the few ones I tried. Affordable prices. Good ambience and service. I like their salsa. Only complaint is with their chicps, not much fresh. Cash only..They do have ATM inside. read more

A great place for authentic Mexican food! They wait staff is friendly and attentive. The restaurant is kept very clean. We have eaten at almost all the Mexican rest in the Quad Cities and both locations are by far the best. read more

This is definitely my go to Mexican restaurant when I wasn't tasty authentic Mexican food. This place never fails me. The flavor is there!

Great food! Great service! Top notch Mexican food! Fair prices and cold beer!!! Highly recommend

Very impressed for the Quad Cites. Better than a lot of small Mexican restaurants in Chicago. Authenticity reminds me a lot of Cuernavaca Mexico. The place is quaint. No over the top service. This is a cash only restaurant and you will pay at the register when you leave. If you are looking for a 5 Star service experience this is not your spot but if you want to transport yourself to an authentic taqueria from Mexico it hits the spot. So when you go to a place like this, it is more about the food. The steak tacos, rice and beans are delicious The guacamole is decent the one draw back is that the chips are not that fresh. The prices are relatively inexpensive. If you like hot/spicy salsa this is the place for you. There is no Americanized version of this! Mui Caliente'! read more

I tried the shrimp cocktail and had some tacos. The food taste is bland they need to use more cilantro and ingredients in the food especially given the high prices. The restaurant itself looks very nice and new with many tv's and nice renovation maybe that is why they don't have great ingredients on their food. read more

DELICIOUS! I had the steak torta and man oh man it was the best torta I've ever had. Can't wait to come back with my family this weekend!

One of my absolute favorite places to eat. I have never been disappointed. The staff is on top of their game. I recommend this place to anyone. Pastor tacos is one of my favorites. read more

The food is decent but the service is confusing. When you first get there the server is super nice and gets you drinks and takes your food order. After you get your food you'll have to track down that server if you need anything because they'll likely never come back to your table. The food is decent but it was really weird the first time I went there waiting for the server to get a box for my leftovers (ended up just getting up and asking for one) and then waiting forever for a check that would never come until we found that they just keep them all by the door and you just go pay at the register and they find your check up there. If you don't mind being left alone to eat, the food is decent enough to give a try. read more
