Extremely unprofessional and intimidating experience. My teenage daughter and her friend went to this salon around 5 p.m. for nail services. The technician ignored their requests, did poor-quality work, and pressured them to pay through Zelle -- charging $195. They both left feeling uncomfortable and in tears. When I arrived around 6:15 p.m. to address what happened, he abruptly left another client to confront me, became defensive, and refused to issue a refund. His tone and body language were intimidating -- especially toward two minors who had already felt pressured. To make matters worse, my daughter's friend (who is half Vietnamese) understood that during their appointment, he made a highly inappropriate and offensive comment in Vietnamese about my daughter, calling her "retarded" and "an idiot" to a female coworker. This kind of language is discriminatory, demeaning, and completely unacceptable in any business. I am now considering reporting this incident to law enforcement and consumer protection agencies due to how the girls were treated and the verbal harassment that occurred. Parents, please be very cautious before sending your teens here -- no one should experience intimidation or verbal abuse in a salon setting. My experience was incredible - Lily took care of my split nails with one plastic add on and a silicon gel over the other. She's a perfectionist and I'm so glad I saw her. I kept spending $72 with tip in Thousand Oaks for a gel manicure every two weeks and my nail chipped and eventually tore the tip. Today, in a fraction of the time and $15 less in costs - Lily saved the day and fixed my manicure in less than an hour! She's a gem! read more

I went here to get acrylics removed and a gel manicure. $60 and 2 weeks later, my thumb nail polish is popping off and my nail is green underneath. I have never had this happen to me before and have to take oral bacterial medicine for at least a month now to get rid of it. (The green is a bacterial infection not fungal). This is disgusting. I don't think I'd be so upset if I paid for a cheap job and got cheap results but $50 plus tip for a gel manicure and an infection is more than upsetting. read more

Worst nails I've ever received. Started off with an acrylic french tip set, the lines were not clean at all! I asked for square nails and the tips were wide and rounded with gel polish pooled at the ends! They looked awful and I just wanted to leave because I'd already been there for an hour+ and I was skeptical they'd be able to fix them at all, but they convinced me to let them try again. To "fix" them they just painted over the first set with 2 more coats of polish! They looked even worse. They also made my cuticles bleed on two of my nails. They wouldn't let me leave without paying even after showing them all their mistakes! Worst experience I've had at a nail salon, stay away from this place!! read more

Terrible experience at this location. I have been going to Tony for quite awhile. Unfortunately, he was away and I stopped in at the Nail Salon location at Pavilions Shopping Center for a broken nail as the color peeled off and it was cracked underneath. The women there not only made the nail crooked but the nail polish is a complete different color. She tried to say that it was because it may have been the bottom of the bottle (NOT MY FAULT) and that she does a different shape than other employees. She had the nerve to charge me $10.00 afterwards!!! What a waste of time and money. Tony would not have even charged me. I now have to find another nail salon to redo this tomorrow. The worst nail salon I have ever been! Do not go there if you don't want for your day to be ruined. My friend and I decided to get our nails done because we were in that area, we walked in and the place looked clean and empty , so I thought that it will not take long to get the nails done. I asked for the dipping so did my friend and only one worker could do it so each of us had to wait for her because she was working on both of our hands. I already was irritated with that because it was taking way too long and it is unacceptable and unprofessional, I have never seen where one woman works with two people. Also I asked why they didn't cut the cuticles and they said that it's an additional fee, this is very weird in other places I went to they would always take care of the cuticles no matter what. However, it wasn't the last issue they had, after I asked for design on my nails they couldn't even do it , and they filed my nails way too short that now my fingers hurt. In my mind I already new I would not leave tips for such a crappy work , we ended up paying $60 each which is overpriced but I guess it's Malibu what I expected, I wouldn't mind paying that much If I had an amazing job done. This place doesn't take credit cards CASH ONLY, and they have no shame to ask for tips. This is the worst experience I have ever had, so even if you're in that area DO NOT GO THERE. read more

I felt inspired to create an account and write a review on this salon because of an experience at this salon. It was certainly memorable, but for the wrong reasons. Unfortunately it ranks as the most unpleasant appointment suffered through in the last decade. When I walked in I was sat down, and the session began promptly--the rows of chairs were otherwise vacant. There was no mention up front the salon takes cash only. Besides that, there's been minimal effort made to visually warn clientele via signage. Unacceptable in this day and age. When a second patron entered, my session was interrupted while she got settled in, and it soon became clear this visitor and I would be getting our manicures done simultaneously. My nails were cut much too short, the quality of shaping is embarrassing (my 6 year old daughter could have done the same on herself), and the experience rushed. Ladies, please get your act together. It's not a proper reflection of the Malibu community standards to treat patrons like this. This is a time to come together and be proud of our work. And please DO NOT ask for tips after it clear that I felt uncomfortable. read more

Trina and Karen took care of my mani/pedi needs. Great customer service and happy with quality of work. To get to front door, go past and to left of the overhang sign saying "NAIL SALON." I'm gonna be honest I hated my experience in this salon, I came there asking for acrylics w my daughter who got French tips, the man Tony told me hers were going to total in 15 and the total price for both is 80 I'm completely fine w paying that amount but my daughter wanted to to get regular gel nails to match the color of her French tips and so I asked for REGULAR GEL NAILS and French tips for her. At the end he charged me a total of 60 for both making hers 15 and mine 45?!! For gel nails. My problem is not the money but the fact that he literally sat on the phone checking his notifications answering PERSONAL phone calls and was completely rude the whole time but also because I've gotten gel nails for 30 before meaning he changed me 15 extra and I gave the lady that did my daughters nails a tip so I gave him one as well ( less of course) absolutely ridiculous who excepts personal phone calls while doing nails?? This place does not deserve such a low rating. I live in the area and get my nails and toes done here all the time and have never had any issues whatsoever. Just call ahead and make an appointment with KATIE on the mani! She is very attentive and cooperative. My pedi and gel mani never take more than 1 hour (not including maybe 10/15 minutes wait time if you're a walk in). They also have all the regular polish colors that match exactly to the gels polish colors which is great. read more

My daughter and I walked in at 5pm on a Thursday and there was not one customer - I thought "great! I'm sure they can see us"! One of the two ladies actually rolled her eyes when I asked if they had time to do our nails. Not only were they rude and condescending, the manicures were awful! I'm officially not going here anymore. I used to go regularly, then stopped six months ago when they made my mom bleed for the third time, and took three new clients while also doing my nails. Meaning, they stopped doing my nails and they started working on another client with a "fast job." They said they would make it up to me... so, I decided to give it another try today. I received the same rushed job, poor technique, and bad service. What made it feel worse, is that the technician today almost gave herself a 25% tip when she gave me back the change for my bill. Three stars only because the employees were cordial. Otherwise go elsewhere. They don't take walk-ins because they can't. Only two gals on a Friday afternoon in Malibu ... really? I had to return two hours later and hoped for a spectacular time in the chair. Well that didn't happen either. The fancy chairs are for looks. They simply put a bucket of warm water in the holding well of the fancy chair. No bubbles, no massage, nothing. $25 bucks for fifteen minutes. They also had a limited supply of nail color adding to the bizarre atmosphere. When I inquired as to why the bare bones the gals replied that it was hard to get workers into Malibu which I'm not buying either. Move on folks. read more

These are super sweet folks working here with no attitude at all... but... most importantly, they do expert work! I have been coming here since they opened just over two years ago, and their work, everyone here, has been perfect every time. I'm only giving it one star because there's no such thing as zero stars. We walked in to get a fill and pedicure for just one person. Then they said they could take us but they had an appointment coming in. So we were fine with that. So they begin the pedicure and fill. They were the only two working there, even though there was 18 chairs. The floor looked like they had a whirlwind of leaves hit it. I was worried if the place was sanitary. I should have just left as soon as I entered ,but I had limited time. The woman that had an appointment came in. I thought she had told the person that worked at the nail salon that she needed 15 minutes. But apparently it was the reverse. So she was about to walk out, and the person who was doing my fill told the woman that the other woman was going to paint my fingernails. And I said yes she's planning on painting my fingernails. Just so she wouldn't lose the customer. The person doing the pedicure finished, but she didn't paint my fingernails. She instead started a new customer that had just walked in. Although it was obvious she was a regular she didn't have an appointment and she would have to only wait 5-7 minutes. I can't imagine going there regularly. It took about another hour before the first woman came over and painted my nails. So time in total took about two hours and 45 minutes for a Fill and Pedi. Last but not least, as we were paying she told us she took cash only. She should have told us up front so we could have picked my debit card and gotten some cash. Instead since I didn't bring my debit card I had to borrow money from my friend to pay for the service. And then repay them. But they should tell you upfront. It's ridiculous! Today was my second or third visit and I have to say I will not go back. I think that the owner probably does a good job but her staff does not. I had a mani/pedi with no polish. My one request was to make my nails all the same length...she could not do that and she was very rough with her tools and at one point rolled her eyes.
