I went today to get my manicure done and I got lucky to have Natalie to do my nails. It was my first time and I loved it. She did a really good job. Prices are fair and they charge $1.00 if you want to pay by credit card which seems reasonable considering most salons charge $3.00. The only negative is that the salon is old and could use some updating in both the chairs and overall aesthetics. Aside from that I'd definitely give CQ a big thumbs-up! read more

I've been seeing Sonny now for getting close to two years! He is the best for my fills/sets. He does a fantastic job and always remembers the length and style I like my nails. I recommend Sonny to anyone at all. He is kind and well loved by myself and many other customers. CQ is a great location. Very spacious and the staff is all very friendly. They also keep it very clean! Update: it's now been over 2 years since I've been seeing Sonny religiously! I also frequently get pedicures and have been happy with every single person at CQ to do them. Always impressed and they are all so friendly! I have been to this salon a handful of times now and the service is always great. I really love the way Kim does my gel nails, she is always careful and they come out beautifully! She was so sweet, this time I couldn't decide which color I wanted and she went and got me three different colors and tried them on her nail to show me. I was picking between a light pink, a champagne and a red, she went and picked out the red I'm currently wearing: let your love shine, and it looks amazing! I wouldn't have picked out this color on my own since I never do reds but I'm glad she picked it for me. I've been here about 4 times and all times I had to refile my own nails. This time I came and they put the acrylic tips on crooked. So I told them before they went further and the male technician quit and complained to a lady who said I always file my own nails and they said they couldn't do my nails. I decided to go to this nail shop on a whim because it was closer to my school even though I originally planned on going somewhere else (I definitely should've stuck with my original plan). The employees were warm and welcoming but my mani pedi took almost over 2 hours and it was a very mediocre job. If you're in a rush, I would not recommend coming here because there were people who came before me who were still getting their nails done when I left. They also are way overpriced for a takedown and charged me $7 to take off my gel polish, and apparently that was at a discounted price because it's usually $10. Most places charge $3-5, if not anything at all. The two ladies who did my nails were nice but really made me feel physically uncomfortable. They were making the process very painful and kept cutting my fingers and toes. I've never had a more painful mani pedi experience. Furthermore, my pedicure was completely ruined by the end of the night after drying for a good 5 hours and my gel manicure looks like it was done a week ago. I basically wasted $60 and the lady who appeared to be the owner had the audacity to question my tip which I thought was extremely unprofessional given the fact that I was there for so long and it was pretty painful at that. Polite people but long and painful experience. I wouldn't go there again unless it was an absolute nail emergency. read more

this was definitely the worst nail salon i've ever been to. i got there and asked for a bio gel manicure and the lady said she could do it. she started applying the bio gel and has to redo them 3 times, shaving my nail thinner and thinner every time to remove the messed up bio gel. she then seemed to have given up on one of my hands because they were still wet when she started applying polish. i was there for 2 hours, charged 65$ when they said 55$ on the phone , and left with messy, dirty nails. it's been a week and every single nail of mine is broken and chipped. i do not recommend going there and i will not be going back. i never write reviews even if i'm a little unhappy with something but my experience here SUCKED and has made me so upset. read more

I was a walk-in for French tip gel nails and was started on almost immediately. Halfway through the process, my nail technician turns to a client who was sitting in a spa chair and says something to her but I don't know what as her head was turned and it was kind of noisy inside. Next thing I know my nail tech stands up and walks away to the back with the other client. Another nail tech walks over and continues to do my nails. She doesn't say a word to me and starts to paint on the white tips. I was confused for a moment and realized the first girl wasn't coming back. I look down and see that the new girl is painting very thin white lines on my nails. I stop her and clarify that I want thick, white lines. It's evident there is a language barrier but eventually it works out. The gel polish came out nice (even gloss, no bubbles,etc.) but I was not impressed with the white tips (not enough of a curve and the line thickness did not match each nail). I hate to be nit picky, but getting your nails done is not cheap and I was disappointed at the lack of communication. read more

The worst nail experience I've had. And the 1 star is for the girl that did my pedicure, she did a great job. However, the man that supposed to do dipping powder for me was awful. I called the day before I went and asked if they do dipping powder, they said yes so I scheduled the appointment. When I arrived, the woman who I believe is the owner sitting at the first station greeted me right away and knew my name and what I needed. So she tells an older man who was next to her and he gets up, very annoyed that he had to get up, and asked if I also wanted a pedicure, I said yes please. It took them about a minute to clean a spa chair and they sat me down right away. So far so good. As I'm sitting down, the man asked me what color I wanted. I thought to myself, I just sat down and clearly have not had a chance to look at the color options because no one has given me a palate. So I said can I see the colors. He slams the nail file down and gets up and as he's walking to the corner to grab the colors, he says "gel right?" I said no, dipping powder. He grabs a whole baskets with all kinds of colors and so I asked him if any of these were OPI dip powders (the best there is) and the girl doing my pedicure pointed out a few. Great, I've picked my color. Now this man keeps filing down my nails that currently have dip powder on them, which is normal before he starts to wrap them in acetone and foil to soak them off. He continues to file down my nails, using 2 different files. At this point, I figured he just wants to file off as much of the powder as he can before wrapping them to soak off. While filing, he left the electrical file slip twice off my finger but I let it go and didn't say anything, although my facial expressions said it all. At this point, he puts down the file and gets up to get the color and as he's walking away he says "gel right" I said noooo, dipping powder. This is when I started question his abilities and started to debate just leaving. My pedicure was already done as it had been 40 minutes at this point. He comes back and reaches for a clear top coat and wants to start. When moving my hand away, I said aren't you going to remove the old powder? The old color was still very much visible. In a very frustrated manner he says "no it's fine". I said no it's not fine, I want the old powder removed. He huffed and puffed and came back with a bowl filled with acetone so that I can soak them off. I knew the damage this would to my hands but I just wanted to get it over with so I let them soak. A couple minutes later he starts to remove the old powder and filed some more. THEN he grabs a gel polish color so he can start and I looked at him the most ridiculous stare because I've said dipping powder at least 5 times already and he says they don't have it. I didn't even bother questioning further so I said forget it I'm going to pay for the pedicure and however much you want to charge for removing the old powder. He says okay and just walks away. I get up and go to the front and while the owner is only one chair away, she claims she had no idea what was going on and kept apologizing. Except I had been there for an hour already not once did anyone mention that they don't have dip powder. She says well we only have certain colors. Okay, why wouldn't he tell me that the color I picked is not available in dip considering the amount of times I said I don't want gel, I want dipping powder. I paid $33 (extra $1 for using my debit card) for a pedicure and a horrific job of removing old dip powder. read more

Bot last beyond any reasonable time frame to thepoint I have to notice how grown out they've become before I go back in. 3 weeks or better on my fill and 6-8 weeks on gel pedi. I have been coming here for about 2 years now, since our family moved into the neighborhood. I made it a point to go to 4-5 salons in the area in order to get a feel for the prices and quality of each and while they were all about the same price all around, I liked CQ Nails the best. I'm not picky about who does my nails, so I'll take whoever is available and I've never been let down or disappointed. They all do a wonderful job and pay close attention to detail, which is a must for someone like me who is very anal about their polish haha. I've been to a lot of salons where they push and try to upsell you on all sorts of things and maybe it's just me but ... I don't want to feel like I'm being hassled by a car salesman, I just want to chat and watch you work your magic. I've never been hassled about additions or extras here, they're very relaxed about that sort of thing. I have heard they do great massages and waxing, but I've never personally done either so I can't speak to that :) read more

I think I'm being generous when giving it two stars and this is why: The manicurist was talking on her cellphone while doing my nails... she actually asked me to HAND HER ONE OF HER TOOLS! I almost laughed... She filed my nails a little unevenly....ok quite a bit unevenly and my polish didn't last a week. They didn't massage my legs or feet at all really.... As I'm writing this I'm thinking two stars is too many, it's close to my house but I'd prefer not to go back.... I'm revoking one star!
