Nails that are on fleek, of course. I'm kidding, I swear I'm not that basic. I don't even own Uggs. And I've only gotten my nails done 3x in my lifetime. 2 of those times were at Nailed It Studios though so I feel it's time to leave them a review. Nailed It Studios is a tiny, appointment-only, cash-only, 3-woman shop, though I think they're hiring more nail techs to keep up with their insane demand. They're located in the weirdly isolated Langham Square mall on Kennedy but are thriving thanks to their impressive Instagram feed and what I'm guessing is a lot of referrals. When your nails last more than a month without chipping/lifting, you're bound to get questions on where you got them done. I got my nails done by Maggie, then Margie. Maggie is extremely sweet but was a little rough when filing one of my fingers. It didn't hurt per say, but it wasn't comfortable, and I left with a bit of swelling that lasted for 2 days. Same thing happened to my friend. That was literally the only flaw though, as my nails survived for the 6 weeks afterwards, with no lifting or dulling. My second time with Margie was even better. I'm a bad customer because I fidget and tend to stiffen up my hands a lot, due to them being perched in permanent typing position. She was patient with me and the nails turned out perfectly, no discomfort at all. That's why she's the boss. Her marble designs are legendary. Bookings are done conveniently on Whatsapp and first timers need to drop a $20 deposit, in person or through e-transfer. I love this. It ensures I have a transcript of my bookings and I get to ask questions and get quotes on designs I find on Pinterest. They take bookings one month in advance. Margie runs the Whatsapp and she's very responsive. Pricing is extremely fair. They only use gel and it starts at $30. $2/nail for matte, $5 for special polishes, and $6-$12+ for intricate designs. $10 to remove polish. Prices are transparent, reasonable, and you pay for quality stuff. They also give a stamp card which gives you 20% off after your 10th visit. As a woman who appreciates nice nails, grande lattes, and a good pun, Nailed It is the perfect place for me to pumpkin spice up my life and my Instagram feed. It wasn't even like I had fungus growing on me either. Notably, I had Cindy who was really slow on the pedi. Then today... I had Cindy, again. I picked a color that looked thick and nice on the example nail. But on my nail, it ended up being transparent. If I had nice natural nail tips... maybe I could pull it off as hipster/trendy, but this wasn't the case. Cindy did not tell me that it would look transparent, she just acted like everything was fine. The worst part was that when I told her how I felt, she tried to convince me that it was a good colour/look, and so did the manager. I mean, I think it's a no brainer that you're not looking for transparent nails, unless you ask for them specifically. So to rectify, they just took off the top coat, and put another colour that I chose. Obviously, to make it easy, since I was already there for an hour, I picked a dark colour. Right now, I have the remnant orange popping from the sides of the dark blue - poor job. Anyways, this experience took 1:30hr. Normally, a shellac experience should only take 45mins. If I was customer service, I would have offered a second appointment in the next couple of days to fix it for free. Now, I'm just never gonna go back. $25 + tip to waste my time and my money.

When her other co worker came in, she sat right next to us and they started having a whole conversation in mandarin with each other. Her attention to detail is not the best, and when I was told to wash my hands, I noticed one finger had a chip already, and asked her very politely if she can fix that one corner; in mandarin she said I was meddlesome, which is pretty much the same saying in Cantonese, as she proceeded to fix my nail. Maybe if she had paid more attention to her own work and stopped talking and getting distracted with her co worker, then she wouldn't have done such a sloppy job. Now I understand why the other 3-4 nails salons on the same floor were busy, except for this one. Won't be back.

In terms of service, I have a nail condition, Michelle always pay special attention and makes sure that it looks perfect and that the whole process is comfortable. Whenever got my nails done before I found Mu Nails, I do not get it removed because the ladies will thin out my entire nail bed, which prolongs the recovery process. Michelle, on the other hand, uses the tool to gently remove only the parts with gel overlay. This is something I greatly appreciate as my nails grow super slow and I'm a very hands on and athletic person and it's extremely inconvenient when you're stuck with weak and thin nails for 5 to 6 months. I highly recommend Michelle. If you wish to schedule an appointment, always text her in advance. Friends whom I referred loves Michelle too!

These were the things that I've noted and remembered: PROS - ladies that were servicing were really nice and courteous - took in last minute appointments - service was done professionally - no pain from any of the services - usually I experience some pain with nail buffering and the UV light heating, I didn't experience that here - despite the fact that the esthetician didn't know how to do the "marble effect" she attempted it until it was up to what I wanted - the gradient of the white was used with a professional spray to have a really flawless effect, not hand drawn so I appreciated that - they provided a complimentary hand and arm massage along and applied lotion at the end CONS - the lasted me three weeks vs the usual four weeks that I get, but I do understand, I'm not exactly the most delicate with my nails and hands - one of the esthetician was new at the job so she was much slower, but quality wasn't compromised - pricing maybe a little more than your typical nail salons - salon looks a little run down, more humbling decor Overall, this was a really nice experience, definitely, if you have time, go to this place, they do offer really good quality customer service and will get the job to the best of their abilities.

Decided to check out Nail and Beauty Station after reading the other reviews and honestly, I was not disappointed! At first glance, the establishment was very clean with a cute interior design. Lindy was the one who did my nails - she was super nice, professional, and extremely patient with me, especially when I was trying to describe exactly how I wanted my nails shaped. She also helped choose the colour, which I am a big fan of! I had a full set of bio gel nails done, and couldn't be happier about the result. Definitely coming back soon for my refills (they also gave me a point loyalty card). I've previously been to a few salons in the past that for some reason, always managed to slightly knick my cuticle a little bit which led to some bleeding, but no problems here!

I used to come here often but they recently lost me as a customer. I'm still recovering from my thin nail (which used to be healthy and strong). When I went to another nail salon to take off my shellac, they commented on how there was a significant noticeable difference between my left and right hands (because the nail tech from this salon messed it up). I would love to say something positive but ever since this happened, I unfortunately won't be going back.
