Even if that weren't the case; if a customer states they dont want their cuticles cut, then dont cut them. I've been giving my toes a break from the polish as its not good for the nails to constantly put polish on them. I just wanted polish on toes and shellac on my nails without cuticle clipping. When it was time to pick my color, the nail tech threw the color swatch on the table. No worries. Once my nails were done he didnt offer lotion or oil. He also didnt suggest to wash my hands so I did it anyway. He then hurried me to the pedicure station. Glad its over. Paid and even tipped, but not my usual tip. Wont return.

I have multiple reviews and I have been to Star Nails many times in the past couple of years of living here. So please hear me out: This place is wonderful for basic services and I have never been disappointed. Of course you should pay attention to what the technician is doing to make sure it's according to your preference, as they are not mind-readers, but I have never had a negative experience or had anyone argue with me or give me less than stellar or standard service. In fact, I have been to another salon in town and was less impressed with their level of service compared to their prices. I feel that Star Nails is more thorough and willing to accommodate and I have had very pleasant conversations with their staff; this was both before and definitely after the change in management. Long story short, I have been very pleased with the service I've received here over the years and am happy to see it run well under new management. Their prices are (pretty) fair (inflation is not their fault) and they do a terrific job. They have great massage chairs, relaxing music, or TV if you want to watch. It's unfortunate that someone had a bad day and went online to badmouth this place but I make it my goal to set the record straight and not let small businesses suffer because of Karens. Very sub standard manicure and if I had not insisted on clean nippers I might have gotten an infection or nail fungus. Horrible experience! I'd give them no stars if possible. Don't go there!! Here nails looked really good and so I asked her where she went. She referred me to Nail Expert and directly to Antwon. I got a fill in with a take down and a gel color applied. I like the way my nails look. I like how he shaped them and how he made sure to lightly file my natural nails to limit damage to my natural nails. I will return while I am down here for work.
