I wouldn't tell my enemy to come here. This place SUCKS in a real way. My pedicure was done nicely. However this isn't how a real nail studio should be at all. Disappointed is an understatement. Also I seat at the same level as the tech doing my feet. I was so uncomfortable and I'm bowlegged so it was painful because they lack the proper equipment I had to suffer. DO NOT COME HERE

RE: PURE NAIL BAR (Main Street location)…read more I don't like leaving negative reviews, but here we are. I booked a manicure a couple of hours before an event I was attending in the evening. Nothing fancy, just a standard straightforward manicure. I noticed the woman wasn't cleaning up the skin around my nails at all and I kept asking her to do it and she kept saying she would. Then suddenly she splashes oil on top of my nails, leaving my hands oily and messy, and that was it. I then asked her to clean around my nails and clean the mess under my nails from filing and she did, but she did a poor job. I had to get to my event so I just left. I showed my friends to make sure I wasn't being overly picky and they all agreed it was a horrible job. I went in today to see what they could do. The same woman was there and there was no apology; she was actually acting very put out by the whole thing. She "tried" to fix it but it was still bad. The lighting they have is terrible and they can't actually see what they're doing, but when you move your hands into natural light, you can see everything. I will never go back. And I highly suggest that you don't go there either.

And by found, I mean we googled "nail salons near me within walking distance" called a few places (no availability). Then called Poised and they could get us in right away. Funny story....on our walking trip of the city we had literally just passed them about 15 minutes prior to calling, and absolutely didn't see them... haha. Luckily it wasn't a far walk back. It was serendipitous that they could get us in. Anh did my mani/pedi combo. Christina did my fiancé's. Both ladies did an excellent job. I didn't get polish (time restraints and I was wearing shoes and socks so I didn't have time to sit and wait for them to dry) I'm not used to bare toes. Anh took some extra time buffing my nails to give them a nice shine. So did Christina for my fiancé. Anh shaped my nails on my hands perfectly. We were extremely happy with the massage process from both of them. Someone was always cleaning and straightening up. It's a nice little salon tucked away between some rather large building entrances. If you live local give it a try. If you're a visitor to the area and need some nail services this might just be your place. Our total was $101.85cad. Very reasonable for a great service.

Good collection of nail colors in shellac, gel n dip. Independent counters for pedicure and manicure. Safety measures due to COVID-19 is taken care of. We went together so they made sure we get pampered side by side. His was simple pedi-mani combo n mine was with gel polish on my original nails. Pretty neat job done and satisfying. The next to my manicure station was another manicure with nails and i must say the technician was doing great job. Price is decent too . There are products of kevin murphy to buy as they have a single chair for hair care and cut.

On the day of, I arrived an hour early to my appointment and was able to access their other amenities like the outdoor pool, hot tub and fitness centre. The locker room is well equipped and even had a sauna in the women's changing room. Really enjoyed the hot tub pre-treatment - it was cool being in the heart of downtown while getting some rest and relaxation. About ten minutes before my massage time, I got ready and was served some amazing ginger tea before being led to the massage room. Yuko was fantastic. There are a few individual massage rooms, and even a couple room. The room was again very relaxing and well equipped with its own washroom, shower, robe, etc. The sangre de fruta products were so great and the oil and body butter used made my skin so soft! Really appreciated the small touches, such as a hot towel at the end of the massage and a cup of tea and snacks.

There is pre and post beverages. We also added in CBD Oil and Hair Mask too. I knew I would be super antsy if I added in a soak and a massage as it's just too exhausting to spend that much time in one area. What we really enjoyed like all Shangri La franchises is how the layout is very similar in every country. I really could be in Guangzhou or Tokyo. I was first introduced to this hotel chain over decade ago and the touches of it's signature hotel fragrance and linen is unparalleled. Pros I knew it was a beautiful intimate private space. Super relaxing city escape. Cons We had pool access (not from the spa package) and other amenities, as the location was super central with tall buildings surrounded, the feeling of being exposed is real (compared to Willow Stream Spa or even Westin Bayshore). The massage itself was "ok" and relaxing. I liked the option of the CBD oil. The hair mask, I would pass. Come for an intimate relaxing escape. Don't expect your muscle knots to be gone.

UPDATE: I was given a $100 gift certificate

Most importantly they do a beautiful job on your nails! Other places can do a really sloppy job, but this was not the case at all with SPAradise. I gave them a try over the weekend for a Bridal thing, and everything went great, with all five girls in our party coming out happy and satisfied with prettily painted fingers and toes. The nail technicians were also very patient as we had a sweet 2 year old running around everywhere and the SPAradise girls gave hand and feet emery board keepsakes to everyone in our party. They bring everything to you and you don't have to do a thing. A few things to improve: 1) More nail polish selections would be nice. Though they get points for having the newest season of Opi colours, more nail polish selections would be nice. 2) Use of some kind of pumice stone would be nice. At the actual salons more time is spent on grooming the entire foot (dry, rough heels for example) and not just the nails. 3) More reasonable prices. I understand that you pay a bit more ($60 for the Express Mani/Pedi)) for the convenience of having the spa come to your house, but with all the competitive spa prices out there, it's really hard to justify using a mobile spa service all the time, and I really would like to use the services more than once a year when someone gets married. Overall, I think SPAradise does a great job and I would use them again in the future. If you're trying to think of a party idea for your next girl's night, then this might be it. What's better than Mani/Pedi services right in the comfort of your own home where you can watch cheesy girl flicks, eat and drink and gossip all while being pampered?

Get a hair cut hippie!…read more I found George, the owner at Royal Riviera, after my last barber ran off to the interior of BC to become a recluse (I hope it wasn't something I said). I'm cheap. I don't want a $50+ wash, blow dry, manicure, tinting, massage, or any of that stuff. I want what remains of my hair to be cut. And I don't want the "stylist of the hour" at some of the cheapskate haircut shops out there. I keep going back to Royal Riviera because I always get a consistent, reasonably priced cut, interesting conversation, and friendly people. If you want the massage, wash and blow-dry, and lots of other bells and whistles they will do all that for you. Guys that are looking for a $25 cut that is consistently good, this might be a great choice for you. George has been cutting hair for as long as I've been alive, and has a client list that has included Tom Jones, Paul Anka, and even VICE President George Bush (the first one, not the moron). There are several other stylists working for him, all extremely good. In Royal Center mall, near the entrance to Burrard Street Skytrain station

My stylist was Gabby. It was clear she took her work seriously and wasn't there to zip you in and out asap. She took her time when it came to the hair massage (best part of a cut), the cut itself, and the product styling. There wasn't much by way of conversation but I wasn't looking for that. Gabby was patient as I was bobbing my head in and out of consciousness - she moved my head slightly when she needed to. She played it safe, not cutting things too short that they would spike up and be uncontrollable (save for a hat), which was my preference anyway. I think my Asian hair gave her some challenges especially when it came to using the product to style my hair, but when I did it myself using my own product the next day, I could see that the cut was good. Nothing to rave about, but it wasn't the disasters that I've had so often in the past. It'd be unfair to compare the quality of the cut to the salons I've paid 40% more for, so I must say that the value is there. Gabby put in a ton of effort and it was appreciated, so I tipped generously. Definitely worth a second look. I'd say 3.5 stars but I'll round up.
