I had asked for middle-deep tissue, and basically had 75 minutes of her rubbing coconut oil on my body. It was really unbalanced between sides, didn't feel that she understood how to move, manipulate, or release muscles. For half the massage she rubbed up and down my spine with her elbow and arm. In the "reflexology special" that is added to a 75 min massage, it was as if she didn't know what reflexology is - it felt like she was scanning my foot with a soft stone?? No pressure points, no tension release. I walked into the massage complaining of pain in middle and lower back, I walked out oily and confused. After the massage the pain in my lower back increased throughout the day where it became excruciating to walk. The reviews on their website are misleading, lamest massage ever. For the quality of the massage therapist and facilities (no specified place to wash off the oil after the massage) not worth the money, at all.

My therapist, Jenny, initially told me she was the manager, but later said she "just works here," so I am not sure what her role actually is. More importantly, throughout the massage I told her several times that I was uncomfortable. My concerns had nothing to do with wanting deeper or lighter pressure. Rather, the technique and overall experience were not meeting my expectations, and she was not focusing on the upper back areas I specifically requested. At one point, I even asked if I could switch to another therapist because the massage was becoming painful and was not addressing the areas I needed worked on. That request was ignored. After the massage, I politely explained that the service did not meet my expectations and asked whether a discount could be considered. Jenny asked what I thought would be a fair price, and after some discussion, I suggested $60. However, when she presented the credit card terminal, it showed $85. When I questioned the amount, she acted as though she did not understand what I was referring to and justified the charge by saying she had spent extra time on certain areas. Unfortunately, spending extra time did not improve the quality of the massage. In fact, the experience was so uncomfortable that I was unable to relax the entire session. Rather than feeling relief, I spent much of the massage thinking about how uncomfortable and ineffective it was. I came in seeking pain relief for my upper back and left feeling worse than when I arrived. That was incredibly disappointing and upsetting, especially after clearly communicating my concerns during the session and even requesting a different therapist. What disappointed me most was not the massage itself, but how my concerns were handled. I have enjoyed this business in the past, but based on this experience with Jenny, I do not plan to return.

The demeanor of pretty much all the staff was prickly, to say the least. We were celebrating my birthday, so my mom brought a small box of five cupcakes for us to celebrate my day. She had called ahead and was told this would be fine. However, she was told they do not allow any outside food and drink despite her calling previously. So, they took them and we had to collect them when we left. Fine, no big deal if that's their policy. They should make sure everyone is aligned on that fact though. Then, we asked if it would be possible to shift an umbrella so all of us could have some shade (it was sunny and hot and we are fair skinned). We were told we are absolutely not allowed to move any umbrellas or chairs whatsoever. Again, we are paying close to 1,000 for our day and we can't even shift an umbrella to make everyone comfortable? Wild! Overall there were several small instances of this nature where the staff wasn't very accommodating or friendly. 2. Facilities. WAY too small for the amount of people they book for services. The locker room is incredibly tiny and not large enough for everyone to comfortably change. There are only two women's bathrooms and they are located in the spa locker room. Not close to the pool and there were lines for the bathrooms at multiple times. Overall some of the facilities were a bit run down and cramped. In my opinion, if you're considering a spa day, go to Rancho Valencia. You'll get your money's worth there. Friendlier staff, nicer facilities, better food, and an overall better experience. Will not be booking again at RB Inn.

I've had several of these, but always on the east coast. The west coast one was different than I'm used to. It was a lot more hands on and less tools which was nice. But then the leg and arm stretching was amazing, it felt like a Thai massage.

From my very first appointment, Coco made an excellent impression. She is extremely professional, welcoming, accommodating, and most importantly, an amazing massage therapist. I've enjoyed my experience so much that getting a massage every other Saturday has become part of my regular routine. I usually book the first appointment at 9:30 a.m. and do a two-hour combination of Swedish and Thai massage. It has been incredibly rejuvenating, especially after dealing with ongoing back discomfort and the everyday wear and tear on my body. Coco does a fantastic job of making you feel comfortable and relaxed from the moment you arrive. She takes her time, pays attention to the areas that need the most work, and you can tell she genuinely takes pride in what she does. I always leave feeling refreshed, relaxed, and rejuvenated. The staff has also always been friendly and very accommodating with scheduling, which I truly appreciate. I'm sure the other massage therapists at Massage Hut are wonderful as well, but as they say, first impressions mean everything, and Coco made such a great impression that I've continued coming back to her. Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience here. I went in for a foot massage, and the…read moretherapist was noticeably rough, particularly when massaging and manipulating the area between my toes. I remember feeling discomfort in that exact spot during the massage, but didn't realize the extent of the injury until the following day. When I examined my foot, I discovered a painful, open cut across the skin between my fourth and fifth toes, right where the therapist had been applying pressure. Given the location and timing, I strongly suspect the injury was caused by the rough handling during the massage. A foot massage should not leave someone with an open wound. What was supposed to be a relaxing experience has instead left me with a painful injury that I now have to care for and monitor for infection. I'm extremely disappointed and would not return.
