Uneven pinky toe (regular pedi paint job) with Essie Gel (not actual gel, that's the name Essie calls it)

Tried this place out for the first time today, 2/23/2022 Pros: - Technician was nice, even though she barely ever spoke to me. - I called at 9.30AM when they open and got an appointment at 10:30AM - Manicure is $15, and pedicure is $25 - technician kept the massage chair on the entire time - Technician finished pedicure with hot stones and typical leg/foot massage which is included in your pedi. - at the start of the pedicure (after removing your polish) they put this really "hand mask" on you that some kind of moisturizer inside plastic gloves that I soak your hands in. It was a great surprise that's included in your mani. - no other customer ever came and I was there from 10:15 AM to 12 PM Con: - Technician was on a phone call the entire time and barely ever spoke to me. - technician and other coworker were very clearly annoyed by my stubborn dark red nail polish not coming off easily and were talking about it as they gazed at my feed. Made me feel uncomfortable. At least don't make it so obvious. - technician was a little too rough with the cuticle removal yet too light when pushing back the cuticles. - Callus removal for pedicure is an extra $10 and it was a very sloppy job. She completely avoided my heels (back of my foot) - the color is completely uneven. I had to ask for an extra coat (3 in total) on my hands because my feet color looks terribly uneven. - she painted my pinky toe TERRIBLY that's it not even evenly on the nail. - I was trying to not be difficult so I kept closing my eyes and trying to just "go with the flow" and not pick at anything but I think my eyes being closed annoyed her because she was roughly jerk my arm forward when I closed my eyes but didn't do that when my eyes were open. - it's a technician's responsibility to tell me if my nail polish (Essie gel white color) is not "good enough" or is my coming out right, but instead she didn't say anything at all. - I have lint on my pointer finger that tried into my manicure. - the filing job was done extremely unevenly and she didn't ask me what shape I wanted. She made then super round and on each hand there is one side that is over files compared to the other side of the nail bed. - the other technicians chatted the entire time which takes away from the "spa" experience of a mani/pedi - I was required to pay for my service 3/4ths into the service (before she paints my nails) which feels abrupt and unwelcoming. Do you think I'm not going to pay? I wanted to love this place based on the reviews, but unfortunately I did not. I cannot recommend this location based on my service today.

Excellent customer service very friendly, greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in. Got the mani + pedi for $40 deal, reasonable will be back.

I went to this salon after trying to find a place in Brooklyn for some time, due to my family members making me aware of the horror stories at every other nail salon. Anyways, I got a spa pedicure which was nice with a 10 minute massage, the pedicure came out fine no complaints. But what truly blew me away was the amount of effort put into my nails, Fannie did my acrylic nails. She stayed about an hour and a half after closing time, did not rush one bit. She filed and filed, kept patient as we chose the correct color for my tips, I showed her a picture and she truly gave it her all. She shaped my coffin nails perfectly, kept cutting them as I pleased. I'm very particular with my tips, she made sure my tips were evenly cut and nicely cleaned. The place is very sanitary and there's barriers in between the customer and the workers which is great. I love my nails and I never experienced anything like this before. Best advice, go here and get your nails done by Fannie.

I was called earlier in the day by the reception to notify me that Sunny was leaving early and Amy is available instead. I needed to take the appointment as I am leaving for vacation. When I got there I was early and was told I have a 15 minute wait so I decided to grab something to eat. I figured this was going to happen because Sunny was out. By the time I got back they were ready. The front desk receptionist Rashida (sorry if I misspelled your name) was great! Greeted me with a smile, showed me how to check in and even check in by her was AMAZING! Now for the in between waxing experience. Amy came in and did the standard procedure. She gave me a mirror for the part she finished but not the next part to check. When I got home I still had spots that were not taken care of that I had to do myself. I am paying for a service. If I wanted to do it at home I would've. I had wax all over me and even on my phone. Honestly the only reason I would come back is because of Sunny and the receptionist tonight. Other than that I would skip and do the waxing myself. Also, this place needs an upgrade from the design to the tables. This place needs a total makeover.

From my very first appointment, she made me feel completely comfortable. Getting waxed can be intimidating, especially your first time, but Lisa has such a calming, professional energy that immediately puts you at ease. She takes her time, explains everything if you have questions, and truly cares about your comfort throughout the entire service. Her spa is peaceful, secure, and very private. She is extremely serious about client confidentiality, which I deeply appreciate. Cleanliness is clearly a top priority -- everything is sanitary and they absolutely do not double dip. You can tell she holds herself to high standards. What really sets her apart is that she educates her clients. She gives great advice on exfoliation, aftercare, and how to prevent ingrowns, which has made a huge difference for me. She wants you to get the best long-term results, not just a quick appointment. And the pricing is amazing. My Brazilian is around $45, which is incredibly reasonable especially considering current inflation. The quality of service you receive for that price is honestly unmatched. If you're looking for a clean, professional, welcoming environment with genuine hospitality, this is the place. Support local businesses that truly care about their clients -- Lisa deserves all the recognition and a 5-star rating.

I am so blessed I did…read more First and foremost, Davine Spa is under the magical stewardship of Lisa, a lovely and rare human being who seems to understand that unconditional giving and respect upholds the integrity of any interpersonal exchange of confidence. Secondly, she never is pushy in cajoling you to buy products you may or may not need or casually offering the so called "add ons" that seem to always find their way in business transactions characterized by unrestrained capitalism approaches. The intervention is fascinating and I did not realize how many skin cells needs to be removed, reactivated and replenished to their original glory. We forget the skin is the largest organ. Afterwards, she gives very caring and detailed instructions, and you feel a calming energy inside the spa space that seems to radiate expansive, multifaceted healing. It is refreshing to know there are still persons in New York City who can be fully trusted. Lisa has that certain "something" that is easy to identify but difficult to describe. You will not be disappointed if you pay Davine Spa in Bay Ridge a warm visit.
