3.5 stars. I've been here twice to get a pedicure. Since moving to Lakewood it's been a little difficult finding a nail salon I truly like the work. So I gave Nailpolish a couple of tries. The place is clean and neat. Very spacious. And can cater to kiddos too. Although the ladies are sweet and kind, I don't feel that they pay too much attention to detail. My first experience was good. "T" gave a nice massage during the scrub and lotion portion of the pedicure. My second visit was with another nail tech. Her scrub and lotion massage was very short and almost not even a massage sadly. I'm a new mom and can hardly find the time to do something for myself. So I actually look forward to that short massage portion when getting a pedicure. Both times I come home to inspect the work, my big toes shapes don't match. So I'd have to file them to correct it. This last time the lady didn't clean the polish that got on the skin. It was quite messy looking at it close up. I don't like to see pictures of feet so I only took a picture of the left side where dirt (something) was on the toe and she painted over it so it left bumps. I know had I inspected the work there, they would have fixed it, but probably not happy to do it. I really want to love this place and to make it my go-to nail shop so I'll give it one more try on my next visit. Stay tuned!

Not worth trying this place out , nails aren't consistent in size, bumpy polish smh . Very disappointed, definitely won't be going back .

I really wanted to like this place. Pros: The shop is very clean and has modern decor. The nail technicians are really nice. Pedicure is still good. Cons: The downside was I got gel on my nails and after only 1.5 days, they've already chipped. I paid $48 + $10 tip and didn't get the quality I wanted.

Trina, Kathy, and Amy are so amazing! Been coming here for years. When I tell you I feel like home I always feel like home when I walk into this nail shop. Everything is always so clean. Kathy is my girl too for my toes and she is always so sweet and humble and does the job well. Amy is my girl for nails and always does a beautiful job and just the way I like my nails to be. Trina is the best always and always greets me as if I were family. Seriously, when it comes to making an appointment they will take you on your appointment time if they are running late they will call you to give you the curiosity so you won't be waiting. That's my biggest pet peeve in a nail shop. If you want a loyal nail shop this is the place. Thank me later!

Thank you Trina and Juliane for being so sweet, accommodating, and easy to talk to, even though I was a walk in and I got lost driving to the nail salon. I love the decor! I also love my fall nail set that I found off of Pinterest that Juliane was able recreate with our own twist on it. I was in such a rush, that I forgot to ask for the massage and lotion that came with manicure. I'll definitely come back next time for the experience again.

I liked my nails. They were smooth and even. But one of my nails cracked after only 3 days!!! The other one chipped after 5 days. Surprisingly I hadn't done any kinda work with my hands either.This is so disappointing . Even if I got gel or regular mani it would stay longer! Never go to an unknown nail spa. I don't live in long beach otherwise I'd go there and get a refund or get this mess fixed. I paid 40 dollars for nothing... Unbelievable! I got my lesson.... never go to random nail salons. The lady was fast and the staff were so friendly and nice. They didn't have much variety of colors tho. I always have many choices in other nail salons, but they have limited colors for dip powder. They also don't have a massage chair for pedicure. I didn't get the pedi then... they didn't offer any champagne, although they offered me green tea or lemonade. Overall their quality is extremely poor.

Besides the cute set up, nail job was horrible. I went in for a fill that already chipped with less than 24 hours from getting them done. And my gel pedi was so horribly painted as well. The paint was streaky. My big toe cuticles are in pain from the cuts they left and on my thumb too. They are indoors so that's the only positive thing about my experience. This was my first and last time here. Not sure what the cost was for each but for a fill and gel pedi w cuticles was a total of $70. It was cash only. I still tipped both workers.

Missed some areas during application. Pictures don't really capture it but my nails just looked aweful, thick and uneven.

I use to come here all the time since it first opened, I absolutely loved this place and I stay loyal to places around my neighborhood, but in the last couple of years (off and on) I've noticed they began to get a little sloppy :(. I went from coming every two weeks at the beginning to coming only when I needed a mani/pedi for vacations. I even purposely avoided coming to them to get a mani and pedi for my wedding because I couldn't trust they'd do a great job. So I went to another place in Cerritos that was more expensive than I'd usually, but hey... it was a special occasion after all. Now 2 weeks after my wedding I decided to come back and give Nailpolish another try for a basic gel mani and it was a grim reminder of why I decided to move on from them :(. - first: they rushed me into my seat before I could pick a color and I told them I wanted to pick a color first. I did, and told the woman which color I wanted before the service began. - once they were done with the filing and shaping. They informed me they couldn't find the color I wanted. I was so bummed. I can't understand why they didn't inform me of that before. I felt super stuck because I'm pretty steady with my color choice and don't like changing it. - while I was quickly trying to pick another color, my manicurist began working on someone else and sent another tech to finish my color application, which was not done very well. The new lady was super distracted and wouldn't finish applying the color correctly. I had to call it out when she MISSED a nail. I was left with weird uneven spots on my nails. I informed her and she just looked annoyed and wouldn't acknowledge what I was trying to explain. When I went to pay she asked if I wanted to add a tip, I declined and she looked surprised. But I just don't feel right tipping for this type of service. It just wasn't up to par. It's sad to say but I won't be going back anymore. At the end of the day it's worth paying a little more for a detailed job. I save my money and look forward to getting my nails done, so an experience like this is just a real bummer. :(

I've been here once before about 2 years ago but had a bad experience. I decided to try this place out again because I didn't feel like driving all the way to K-Town where I usually get my nail art haha. I came across this place via Yelp & read that Tracy did a great job so I made an appointment with Tracy. She is a perfectionist! She took A LOT of time on my nails and wanted to make sure that everything was perfect. She was constantly asking if I was happy with everything before continuing on to the next step. She really values her clients' happiness with her service :) Also note: lots of available parking, complimentary champagne/wine/mimosas, great atmosphere, and they line the soak bowls with plastic wrap so this place is very hygienic! Just had a great walk in experience! Environment: Cute, clean, and hip Service: Impeccable. They offered me drinks and were so pleasant. Highly recommend Tracy for nail art. I showed her a picture for inspiration and she really took the time to execute it perfectly. She went above and beyond! Nancy did an excellent job on my pedicure as well and all the amenities were more than enough for the simplest pedi option. Color selection: The most colors I've ever seen for gel including the LA salons I've been to. Different brands and glitter options. Prices: Very reasonable. Opted for the $28 gel mani with an extra $12 for the glitter nail art which is so much better than the LA salons who usually charge an arm and leg PER nail. $18 simple pedi. Don't hesitate! Pay these sweet ladies a visit and you will leave feeling happy happy. read more

I've been here multiple times and I've always felt as if they didn't like doing my nails. Maybe because I'm an POC. I walked in one afternoon for a manicure and pedicure. I asked for overlay. My nails are thin and the polish stays on longer with acrylic. One of the lady's comes from the back and goes does she know what she's talking about. I left right then and they all came out the store to look at me. I snapped a picture. NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. Of course I know what I'm talking about. And I know I will NEVER come back here. read more

This worker called Kathy was so kind to my students. I work with AYA (Action Youth America) and we took the students to the donut place that is nearby this nail salon. We walked over to the donut place and she noticed the students were really tired and thirsty. She offered to give them ALL water, there was at least 50 kids with us. She even allowed them to use their restroom which was beyond generous. Even though I did not get my nails done here, I wanted to write about my experience with the workers. I will definitely come back to get my nails done here in the future. read more

Been going here for a long time and they did a great set however when I needed to remove the three nails that were left in order to return to work from vacation, they threw a fit. I practically had to beg them to please remove the nails . After much hesitation they did but they took forever removing three nails as if it was the hardest job when I literally ripped off seven myself. However they did not charge me and I believe they knew that they were in the wrong. It just goes to show that if I wanted a full set or even a fill, they would not have acted like that...but the fact that they had to remove nails, that meant it was less money for them. Not cool. Five stars so they can't delete read more

Nice atmosphere. But that's about it. Came here for first time to get a pedi. The girl was so rough on my cuticles, I was flinching like crazy. After she painted my nails, I'm guessing their polish is cheap brand, cuz when I got home , all my toe nail paint was so messed up, clumpy. had to removed them all. I'm very disappointed read more

Read the reviews and decided to try it out. Mother daughter spa day! They did not disappoint. Extremely nice and welcoming. Loved sitting chairs and basins..... always wary of the spa chairs at other salons. Reasonably priced 43.00 for gel mani and regular pedicure. Which includes a yummy scrub for arms and legs. This place is awesome! The staff is so friendly and nice. I came in after having a crappy day at work, and just wanted to "woo sahhhh" and get a pedicure. I was immediately greeted with a smile and seated in one of their comfy chairs. I had never been here before, so I didn't know what to expect. My nail technician Kathy was awesome!! She could tell I looked sad and overwhelmed, and was like my Dr. Phil, or Oprah. I vented to her and she was so understanding, nice, and offered advice. *Bonus* my toes never looked so good! The whole staff is awesome, but she is "the icing on the cupcake". read more

In response to Trina L. Hi Trina, I went back on Tuesday about 3-4 days after my initial manicure to ask for my money back because at this point the polish completely peeled off, the ladies there somehow convinced me to waste my time and give it another shot and let someone else apply the gel polish. Well the lady who did my nails filed my nails crooked, mind you I have been trying to grow my nails out but now they're short and uneven. Also, a whopping three days later the polish started to chip again. And one of my nails even broke because of it. I would love to get my money back but a greedy business like this doesn't care about customer satisfaction. I would suggest you take my $30 and invest in new gel polish and gel curing machines. Got a gel manicure here and it was really disappointing. First of all the color options were awful. The samples didn't even have a basic nude color. The lady doing my nails was nice and friendly but the color application was messy. I am disappointed that it's only been 2 days and my nails are already chipping. Won't be coming back, it's over priced for outdated colors and messy applications. read more

Wow. .been here over a dozen times and it took just one technician to ensure I never return. My gel mani looked like it was dine by a small child. When i brought the horrible job up to the nail tech, she said the reason for her sloppiness was because i preferred to have my cuticles pushed back instead of cut??? Hence justification for an awful job. This salon has really gone down a few steps in service since i began going. The ladies were discussing it in there native language which was ok. I told them in flat out i would not be returning and that management needs to do some housecleaning. I guess savy here i come. Service here is GREAT until you become a regular then it's not that fabulous anymore. read more

My first time here & I love this spot! Everyone is friendly. I got to meet the owner, Samantha & her husband whom are very nice people. They offer complimentary drinks (water, soda, wine) & snacks! Today was chocolate chip muffins. :) I came in for a gel manicure & a pedicure & I am very much satisfied! I left with no cuts, no air bubbles or anything! Happy to say that I found my new favorite nail salon! :) Michelle did my gel manicure & for the first time I'm satisfied with it! Every other spot I've been to effs up my gel manicures. This is my second try at this place. The first time I was turned away because the place got overwhelmed with groupon customers and couldn't take walk-ins. I overheard the front desk gal talking about how many no-shows they had and I couldn't help but shake my head and get uber annoyed. Turning away a non-groupon, cash in hand customer is a bad idea. Take two-I had a kid free morning, tried again...same receptionist not very friendly and in a snotty tone asked 'do you have an appointment?' On a Thursday morning? NO!!! I ended up getting was 'squeezed' in. My lady was very sweet, not that great at getting ingrown nails but sweet. I don't like that there aren't massage chairs and I felt like I had to hold my own leg on the bench to keep from pushing the technician across the room. They offered wine, or other beverages which is cool and cookies too. All in all, not my favorite experience and will continue at my good ole standby place. Which is a bummer bc NailPolish is so close to me!! read more

Finding the perfect nail place is probably just as difficult as finding the right significant other. I really hope this is it! I'm smitten! From the second I called to make an appointment the lovely girl called me back to let me know there was a cancelation and that if I wanted I could come in 2 hours before my scheduled time...but it was my day off and I was watching Gilmore Girls and decided to wait for my scheduled appointment time... So I come in and the place is immaculate, trendy, and just a really nice vibe going on. All the girls were super nice and sweet and since I came in 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment they helped me out right away... This place is amazing. Cannot wait to return! Thanks ladies! I love my gel mani and pedi! For a total of $46 which is a bit pricy but worth the long, long massages I had on both my hands and little toesies. I walked out of there feeling relaxed and pretty. read more

I Love Nail Polish!!!!! I've been doing acrylic on my own nails so it looks natural!!! Not every place can do something so easy and make it look so natural. I have been getting this service for the last 5 years, needless to say I've been everywhere in Long Beach!!!!! EVERYWHERE the expensive new shops on 2nd and all the good cheaper shops that have lots of yelp reviews. Nail Polish has both a clean new young feel they offer you tea, water, soda and WINE.. Everyone is nice and the staff is HAPPY. It's a New Age shop with great prices and everything we have come to expect. This place is very clean with a high level of sanitation. They also can do pointed tips and crazy nail art... At three weeks young I think they are going to take over!!! I have found my nail home, I WILL BE COMING BACK! read more

I just love this place. Can't say enough good things about it. I paid $30 for an acrylic fill with gel polish and $18 for the basic pedicure. It's comparable to other places, but this is the cleanest place around. I've never had to wait because they have so many work stations and staff working. Will be back again and again! read more

So I gave this place another shot. Trina the owner took really good care of me took her time and made sure I was ok with everything she was doing. She had cleaned up my toe that had gotten infected from the last post and time I was here and she gave me a free pedicure due to the infection. Great nail salon! I just moved in with my bf and I needed to find a closer nail salon comparable to Coco's in Redondo Beach. My bf found this place on yelp and I thought I'd give it shot. I called Monday afternoon and they were able to accommodate me that same day at 6pm for a regular mani and pedi. Nailpolish is located in a small business complex. The salon itself is clean and chic. Very quiet and relaxing. I was warmly greeted when I entered and they were able to squeeze me in for a wax. Service was speedy. Sue and Kim did a great job! They also offered me a beverage. Brownie points! My only gripe was the bikini wax. It took way too long and it was an uncomfortable experience. Please keep in mind I am a huge fan of European Wax Center. They use hard wax, don't double dip, and you are smooth in a few pulls. Overall I loved this place and I will definitely be coming back to get my manicures and pedicures done. read more

Really wanted to like this place honestly. Pros: I love the ambiance and the lack of those germ infested spa chairs. The music playing was relaxing and the lady at the front desk greeted me nicely when I walked in. Unfortunately, that's where the niceties ended for me. Cons: Strike 1: The lady at the front tried to up-sell me to gel while I was picking out my color, even after I had just told her I didn't want it. Strike 2: The lady doing my manicure had to be told 3 Times... 3 separate TIMES... that my nail beds are long and she had to push my cuticles back more. Only to have her STILL not do it. When my nails were painted you could still see the white parts at the top of my nails. Strike 3: My pedicure, I asked for square round... and I got round round. The callous removal just didn't, I have the same patch on my heel I had when I came in. Not to mention my French pedicure, that was $5 more coincidentally, was cracking and peeling by day 2 post pedicure. For the prices, I'll pass. Not worth the $49 I spent for a mani/pedi. Upper echelon prices with low quality results. #NoThankYou read more

Great service. They always take care of me. When I make an appointment I'm received right away. I take my daughter with me to get her nails painted. They always do a great job on my pedicures. I tip them well since they always take care of me. Dont be cheap and tip well! They deserve it! read more

If there was an option for no stars, that would be the rating from me. I went in for a gel pedi and regular mani on Thursday, 2/7/19. When I walked in I was not greeted, but I saw a list to sign in, so I did. The ladies were watching TV with their backs to the door and another was on the computer facing the parking lot so she should have been able to see me coming in. I went and sat down and waited about 7 minutes and still had not received any acknowledgment. I cleared my throat loudly and they finally turned around to see me sitting there and were startled and started giggling. I was seated and got my manicure which was ok. The corner of my big toe nail had broken, so I asked her to cut it to make it even. She didn't. I couldn't understand why, but I figured that she would do it at some point. Nope. I already had gel polish on my toes, so the lady used the dremel to get a majority of it off and then put acetone on them. She went back and forth doing this 4-5 times and each time, my nails became a little more tender. She finally got it all off so it was time for the cuticle softener. She put it on and then proceeded to use the cuticle tool to scrape the cuticles down but it hurt so bad because she had just made my nails so thin and tender. I had to tell her to stop because it was so painful. She started to use the nipper but cut me on two of my toes. I told her that I was not going to have any polish on my toes since I felt like they needed to breathe after the treatment they just went through. She obviously didn't understand "no" because she still went to go get the gel lamp. I stopped her and said, "no, I don't want any color." She came back and put a coat of clear polish and said, "you want the same color?" I said, "No, I don't want any polish." After 2 days, my toes still hurt and you can see where the dremel dug into my nails, and my big toe was never cut down. I was very disappointed and would not recommend this place, under any circumstance. read more

Just happened upon this place. I am so happy I stopped. Simple and clean decor, reasonable prices, really nice staff. Took me in right away as a walk in for a "Simple Manicure" and "Simple Pedicure". I love this place! I went here as a walk-in with my sister & a friend with only 2 hours to spare before class & was so scared that all 3 of us wouldn't be done by then. But they were able to take all 3 of us at the same time & be finished with a 1 manicure, 1 acrylics & 1 acrylics with gel polish with an hour to spare ! The shop is extremely neat, simple but beautiful decorations & just a really nice atmosphere all around. We've already decided that were coming back every few weeks because we all liked the quality of work that we got. Everyone was so friendly & very accommodating. They even offered us complimentary wine, tea, water & chocolates! It seems like they've thought of everything, down to the hooks on the side of the tables to hold your purse! I also love the stamp card that they give you, it's just more incentive to keep coming back, lol! I've been getting a lot of compliments on my nails too and it's all thanks to this place ! This was really great for my first time ever going to a nail salon (gasp). It was Black Friday today so there weren't really that many people today. We were attended to right away. I really like their nail polish selection! You see it right away when you walk in. I got a pedicure and I really loved the nice lady who did it for me. I wish I could've gotten her name. It was so relaxing and I just felt so pampered. It really made me wonder why I had never been to a nail salon before. What had I been doing with my life? Anyway, it probably took a little over an hour. The lady was really gentle and the massage was amazing. The overall atmosphere was very calm and relaxing. I felt just so relaxed during the whole thing. I think I will most definitely be coming back. Next time, I'll try out a manicure or something. I came here for a quick mani-pedi on my lunch hour. The ladies were pleasant, and fast! I requested my nails to be the same length, same shape. My cuticles got a perfect trim, my nail lengths are a tad mismatched, the pain job is perfect. It was $63 for both gel mani-pedi. The salon is large, clean, and pretty. There are no spa pedicures chairs, thank god. I associate them with fungal infections. read more

I'm definitely a fan! Although some might say that the prices are a little on the steeper side, I would say the ambiance, cleanliness and level of service make it totally worth it. I've gotten my pedicure and manicure done by both Jackie and Key (pronounced "Keh"). Jackie will keep you laughing and Key is the sweetest and most gentle manicurist there is. It seems like all the other technicians are also very good at what they do! I got my pedicure done by Key and has lasted me... Wait for it... THREE weeks and it still looks great! Jackie did a solid job on my gel manicure three weeks ago as well. This week I put Key to the test and she is amazing! Jessica in the front is also very sweet and will make sure that you are comfortable throughout your entire time there. My only word of advice is to make sure you BRING CASH, ladies, particularly for tipping. And make sure both of your technicians receive their equal parts ;) read more

First off, I wanted to say... this place is great!!! The customer service is excellent and I couldn't be happier with my service. While I was here, the girls explained their concerns about Yelp reviewers and I could see where they were coming from. There are always going to be people who are unhappy no matter what you do for them -- it's a lose-lose situation when dealing with customer service. What Nailpolish offers is unlike any in the area, and sure, they don't have spa chairs but I would rather have fungus free feet anyway! Take the bad reviews with a grain of salt and come in for yourself and try them out. If for any reason you're unhappy, they seem more than welcoming to address and fix any issues -- don't spend your time to sign up for an account JUST to bad mouth a business... it's not fair for anyone. read more

This is my first time on Yelp and I had to sign up just to leave a review. This place is by far, the best, most welcoming and professional pace I've ever been to in the Long Beach/Lakewood area. I made an appt a few days in advance and received a text message 2 hours before my appt as a reminder. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by your name, seated within seconds, and offered a drink and chocolate! they have WINE! They make an effort to talk to you and get to you know you, while the techs really take their time. Definitely one of the best massages I've had during a pedicure! I absolutely love this Salon. I followed my girl Mindy. She is the best. If your anything like me .... For years I have found it hard to find a manicurist to do my nails the way I like them done...
