I've gone here for several years in the summer. Very spotty results. Nice interior, clean and lots of chairs but results depend upon who you get. This is the worst manicure I've ever had. I think my nails look worse than they did before I walked in. The guy made my cuticles bleed on at least 4 different fingers. He wasn't even looking when buffing my nails and was mostly just scrubbing my fingers. So painful! read more

We didn't have to wait at all, everything was ready for us as we had made an appointment ahead of time. Everything was great except when the pedicurist was trimming my cuticles on my toes he went up to the sides and was pulling at the skin there and that was very painful. He was also trying to round the toenail on my big toe and was digging underneath the nail which hurt. They look great though and they gave me a great foot massage. I also got a gel manicure and that was pretty good except for when he started filing and on my pinky he went to hard and it starting bleeding. The place was really well set up, well lit and attractively decorated. The service was nice - there wasn't a long wait time, everyone was super friendly, and it was easy to add tip to the total. I wish I could give it a better review, really, because the people really were very sweet. However, for a $31 gel manicure, the job is pretty poorly done. The guy didn't cut my nails, but sanded them shorter aggressively and with very little care. My nails are uneven and different lengths, the edges are coarse, some corners are pointy and some are rounded, and my fingers /hurt/. The process was done very quickly and very, very roughly, to the point of painful. Even the lotion bit - which I could happily do without, because it always feels awkward - was brusque, less massage and more aggressive kneading. I gave a $3 although I probably should've given less, and any tip at all was based strictly on how nice and friendly the guy was. I definitely won't be going back. Also, the teenage son of one of the manicurists flirted endlessly with a girl waiting for her mother. He even went out and bought her ice cream after she said she didn't drink things from Starbucks (which was his original offer). It was hilarious. Mothers (and fathers), beware thy teenage daughters. I honestly don't know why anyone goes to this nail salon. I wish I could give them a zero. I am local and have gone on and off for quite a few years and it was usually ok never great, but I recently went with my mother and it was horrendous. My mother and I both received a manicure and pedicure and they had us in and out within an hour. for two different mani-pedis, it only took an hour! It was so obvious they were rushing and trying to get us out. After my pedi I went to get my manicure done and asked for white gel, something different than what I did in the pedicure. Told her three different times, and she then just starts giving me a regular manicure with the same nail polish as my pedicure. I was so baffled I didn't know what to say. My mom was treating me for this appointment so I just decided to let it go, wanting to leave. We both felt so rushed and not listened to. I would highly recommend people to go somewhere else. Once I left I realized the women missed a few spots on my toes I mean honestly I could have put polish on better myself which is ridiculous. How does any customer relax when the nail technicians are rushing the whole time?! Nail world has turned into making it all about getting as many people in and out as possible. I will not go back to this nail salon unfortunately. I called to make a 6pm appointment for manicure and pedicure. Although I had a appointment they did not take me until 6:40pm, when, I only had time to get my manicure and had to scratch the pedicure. No apologies or anything. Then when the lady (who did my nails) asked for how much to put on my card as a tip for her, I told her an amount and she added an extra to the amount that I told her. I can't believe the number of negative reviews on this site! Is there some conspiracy out there to destroy this absolutely first-class nail salon? Having lived all over the world and been to nail salons from the worst to best, I give this salon an A-plus, plus, plus. Maybe I'm just lucky and have had the ONLY good manicurist/pedicure gal in the salon. I always request the same person. I do not think that is the case. All the employees were friendly and efficient, and the prices are wonderful, considering the time the staff takes to make sure the product is PERFECT!! Yes PERFECT. Five Stars. Great experience for me and my two 8 year old companions. Clean, friendly, reasonable.

I get my nails done there every two to three weeks and have been going there for different services for years. I wouldn't go anywhere else, the people are friendly and I have not had a problem with manicures, pedicures, gel nails, or pink and whites even wax. I would recommend to anyone. I do say that they are very busy at certain times of the day and week so there may be wait times, but that is common anywhere that has good service. read more

Not a bad place at all to get a mani/pedi...they offer you a choice of pedicures (each with different pricing) and serve you your drink of choice, whether it be water or a glass of wine. As far as the workers go, it depends on who you get; the first manicure I had the guy sent a lot of time on, and was very meticulous; the second one I had the guy did an okay job, but wasn't nearly as good as the first. read more

Service is inconsistent, varying from operator to operator. Some, especially the fellows, are very rough. Some attendants spend a lot of time with you, some don't. Even for the same service. The place is huge, but just because you see empty chairs or even if they put you in a chair immediately, don't think that means they will serve you promptly. They put me in a chair within five minutes, but then forgot me. I waited and waited--over 30 minutes with my feet soaking in tepid water--before an attendant helped me. When I started grumbling that I should just go, they started telling me that an attendant would be available right away, talking me out of leaving. Long story short, one hour and twenty minutes after I walked through the front door, I walked out with the cheapest/simplest pedicure on the menu. Not going back. read more

Some of the technicians do here give good pedicures but after several times I've decided I won't go back. The guy who runs the place is very rude and seems only to care about packing people in for services. I recently called ahead to make sure they could take me, only to arrive within 5 min but was kept waiting 20 min before I finally got fed up and left. Another time I made an appointment the day before for two pedis (with a friend) but when we arrived no one was able to take even one of us for 45 min. I have never felt more rushed to receive services. I got a manicure here and he probably spent a total of 10 minutes on my nails. A basic manicure is $14 and I didn't want full paint color I just wanted a white tip and it was an extra $5.... very unclean while delivering poor service and quality. None of my nails are even or the same length. The manicurists tools and his own nails were not even clean. Will not be returning. Very dissatisfied. Hope this is corrected. read more

This place is terrible. All around rude service. Came here with 4 of my family members. The people doing are pedicures are extremely rude. We had cold water my mom had to ask 3 times for them to put hot water in our tubs. They were extremely rough and fast with my feet. I witnessed multiple employees being rude to other customers. Service A+ Product A+ Customer Service A+ I require "different" designs and color acrylic. You can not beat Nail World for both. I can bring in any picture and walk away very happy. My acrylic nails are perfectly done, and I have no issues with lifting. IF I break a nail or smudge my nail polish, they are quick to fix even if I don't have an appointment. I move away from ME a couple of years ago, and I so missed Nail World. It was the second appointment I made when I moved back. LOVE LOVE LOVE this salon. Highly recommend them. read more

This place is incredibly inconsistent with the final product. I am back less than 24 hours later with 9 smudged toenails after my pedicure... they abruptly sat me down and did a repaint, however were rude about it, made no apology and seemed put out. I was not offered a drink like all of the other patrons during my repaint or the day before while receiving my pedicure. I am a local and would bring them good business and often. Zero. The service was extremely unprofessional. The employee doing my pedicure asked me if one of my toes has "always been like that"? And told me it was time to get new pants while saying "one size fits all my ass". I was then charged $10 for shellac removal and told not to leave a tip. We had about a 15 minute wait before our attendants arrived at our chairs...not a big deal. My friend's pedicure was over at least 20 minutes before mine...even though we had the same service. The staff likes to talk about the customers...it's VERY obvious that they are doing this. My attendant was rough and actually cut my toes twice with the nippers, making me bleed. The polish was thick and gloppy...terribly done. I doubt I'll go back again. read more

I have been going to Nail World for years and never had a bad experience. It is a very nice setup and clean. They provide liners for the pedicure tubs and always wash them after each person. Both the pedicures and manicures out last my nail growth. I have to get a gel manicure every 2-2.5 weeks not because the polish is peeling buy because my nails have grown out. They always ask how you would like your nails shaped and if you are satisfied. They accept appointments which I recommend because the place is usually packed. You will end up waiting if you don't have an appointment. Most of the time there are 15+ employees working at once time but they can only serve so many clients at once. They are never pushy, I have been other places that constantly try to upgrade you pedi or insist you have some sort of design. At nail world they ask what you want and provide it. Their massage chairs are the best I have ever used and they even have small teddy bear chairs for kids. read more

I've only gone here once but it was a positive experience. I had a male technician who was friendly and we had a pleasant conversation while I got a gel manicure. He was quick but I didn't feel rushed. My usual nail salon in Portland takes a good hour from start to finish, and usually around the 40 minute mark I want to get the heck out of there cause I can't sit anymore. So I appreciated getting in and out in roughly 35-40 minutes. read more

I have been to Nail World a few times before over the years and used to love Phoebe and never had a problem there. I went for the first time in about 8 months to find she is no longer there (this was right around Easter, 2014). I went for the standard pedicure and the lady who did my pedicure was nice enough, although my friend who also came for a pedicure had a male technician and he didn't even say 'hello' or smile, so no tip for him. I was remotely satisfied until a month later (a couple weeks ago) I noticed my nail polish bubbled up a little on my big toe. I picked off the polish where it was lifting to notice that my TOENAIL was coming off with my polish! 4 out of 5 toenails on my left foot seem to now be infected with some kind of nail fungus or something. I've never had this in my life. I'm EXTREMELY upset about this. I'm 8 months pregnant and unable to take oral medication for this, so now have to use an anti-fungal nail cream twice a day until the nails grow out so prevent it from returning. Seriously? Obviously they aren't disinfecting properly or this would never have happened. Extrememly upset by this. read more

I've been here several times. Twice for a pedicure and once for a gel manicure. The pedicures were alright. Nothing special at all. I only went back a second time because a family member offered offered to pay. Every single time I've been I have gone with other people who all got the same service as I did, and every time my service ended way before everyone else's even though we all started at the same time. It was a bummer! It always feels so rushed there. The most recent time I went was for a gel manicure. The manicure came out okay, but again, service felt extremely rushed. The massage at the end was literally about 30 seconds on each arm. It wasn't relaxing at all and was so rough that it was pulling me out of my chair and making my fingers crack. I went with a friend whose manicure started 10 minutes before mine, and I was done and waiting for her manicure to finish 15 minutes after mine was done. We both paid the same price. Also we had an appointment and were hoping to be near each other, but we ended up in completely different rooms. I had a gift certificate and went to pay the difference at the counter and the man was so annoyed that I was paying the difference with my debit card. I apologized and he rolled his eyes and said "oh my god...." I don't think I will go here again. If it hadn't been for a gift card I wouldn't have gone a third time. I would much rather spend a little more and go to a spa than here where the atmosphere is less than ideal. read more
