Appointment only now, which is far better than the free for all that would inevitably occur on Saturday mornings in the past. Sometimes it can be challenging to get an appointment, but it's only because they are the top choice in the area. They do their best to fit in walk ins where they can. Be kind and be flexible, and they will work with you. I get gel mani/pedis here, and they last longer than ones I've gotten anywhere else. Best overall experience; clean, good movies, and good conversation. I will continue to support this local family run business. read more

I don't recommend. Went in for a basic manicure and got handed gel polish (more expensive) was told the design I wanted coudlnt be done bec my nail was to small. Then got told it could be done by an experienced nail tech.. the experienced nail tech started doing my nails( Amazing loved them) Then the less experienced nail tech wanted to practice. After we told her we didn't like the work she ignored us. Called today to ask what could be done whether a new set, fix the mistakes, or a credit and got told it could "idk what to tell you. i cant do that just because you weren't happy with your service " I've never had a problem with nail trix before read more

My experience with Nail Trix started out very positively. Kim, my operator, is efficient, exacting, with perfectly beautiful nails in the end. I had made up my mind that Nail Trix would be my GOTO! Then, the last time I called up to make an appointment, the woman who answered the phone, told me that I owe them for missing an appointment. That never happened. I told her somebody must have made a mistake because I had NOT missed any appointments. The more she talked the more rude she became and by the time it was over, She said it was their policy that I would have to pay this bill and I could not come back until I did so. They are RUDE. i came in for a fill and pedicure and didn't know it was appointment only but one of the ladies told me she could fit me in but wouldnt be able to do my pedicure... i was fine with that. she had another customer who's nails she just finished and told me to sit down while she gets her brows. the ladies father then proceeds to ask me what i was there for. i said a FILL TWICE he told me i should get them longer and just cut them. i broke a nail a little earlier so it was bloody. i asked if i could wash my hands he tells me no and to sit down because im wasting time so i get up anyways and wash my hands him and his daughter proceeded to try and get sassy with me so i left. they're rude i dont reccomend! read more

One of the most horrible nail salons I have ever been too. I brought my mother & sister there. I paid for all of their services. When I did the woman touching up my mothers nail as me "Why pay so much, why you spend so much money"? Then she began giggling and talking in her native language to a co worker. As if they were talking about us. Peter the owner is incredibly rude. If he does not want to do your nails & has to, he talks sarcastically and acts like you aren't following directions or just out right tries to hurt you with the drills he uses. Once I went in around prom time & when I walked in he yelled if you don't have an appointment we cant help you it's prom time! It was unprofessional and trashy. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I went in on a Thursday to get a pedicure before departing on Monday for a 3 week vacation out west. By the 10th day, the polish on my toe nails was peeling off. Shocked by this (as this never happened to me in the 30 years I've been getting pedicures), I took a photo of my feet and decided to call Nail Trix upon my return to VA. I ended up getting another pedicure in Utah because my feet looked so bad. Another $35. The day I returned home I called the salon and got a guy on the phone. I asked for the owner and was told he was not there. I told the guy (unaware it was the owner's son) about my experience. He said they do not warranty their service, that I should have gotten the gel polish and when I asked for the owner to call me back, he stated "owner doesn't reach out to clients". I called the next day, spoke to rude Peter the owner and he said I could have come in the salon and he would have fixed it for me. I told him I was in UTAH!! I couldn't come to the salon at that time. I also wanted to send him the photo I took of my feet, but he refused to look at it. He declined making this right for me by having comp me a new pedicure for my next appointment. When I had my toes redone in Utah, I asked the pedicurist why she thought this happened and she stated that most likely the nail bed wasn't dry or still had oil or cream on it, that's why the polish didn't stick. Totally made sense to me. When I told Peter about her conclusion he flat out told me that the other pedicurist was a liar!! After I had a few choice words with Peter I hung up. He then sent me a text stating I have no further appointments with their business as if I would have ever spent money in that place again. Never will I ever step foot in this salon. Three of us went here for a mani/pedi in preparation for a wedding. We had been told to get there early as it gets croweded. True. We had about an hour wait but were told this was the place to go, so we waited. The owner was super un-friendly. He got upset when my niece accidentally messed up the polish on her toenail. At first he refused to fix it then later changed his mind. The lady who worked on my mother's nails was a little too opinionated. She offered my mother this hideous looking glitter polish for her toes - um, not for her wedding. The girl who did my nails (the owner's daughter) was a breath of fresh air. She's young and knows how to treat the customers. Her dad could use a few lessons. I'll probably try one of the other places the next time I'm in town but this place is fine. This place does not even deserve one star. My family and I have come here frequently over the past few years only because it's located so close to Walmart. I cannot express to you enough how rude the owner is. He has been consistently rude to us and others. It's embarrassing to watch. The others who work there are great and do a great job. I had a horrible experience with the rude owner of this shop. When I showed him the large black bruise on my big toe, as a result of the woman who performed the pedicure, he accused me of tricking him and that my shoes were too tight and I dropped something heavy to TRICK him! I could not believe that he was accusing me of lying. He keeps no records and when I tried to explain to one of his workers what had happened, he told me they spoke no English and I should leave his shop and not come back. Got a lovely bacterial infection in my toe as a result of poor hygienic practices and digging into my nail bed. Owner is rude and has treated my elderly mother poorly when we went for pedicures. Cheaper than Le Nails, but I've spent quite a bit of money on antibiotics and doctor visits because my toe got very infected. No more pedis for me from Nail Trix! I'll be spending a bit more at Le Nails down the street because they offer exemplary service and a more thorough pedicure with better hygiene. Nail Trix is a crank-em-out place; Le Nails is more spa-like and takes their time with each customer. read more

The owner has always been short and often rude. They don't take appointments and say that on the phone message. The family has usually been nice, though until this episode. When I inquired about the potential wait time the daughter became belligerent, then Dad came over to take me to task, then Mom started making snarky comments to her customer about me. She said I should make an appointment, etc. They don't take appointments! All I wanted to know was whether I had five minutes or another half hour to wait. Nice nail salon. Damian did an excellent "fill" on well worn nails. The salon is very clean and painted in soothing colors. The price for the "fill" was very fair at $18, and Damian was fast and efficient. Family run. No appointments taken- first come/ first served. Get there when they open at 10. By far the rudest experience I have had in the Kilmarnock business community. The salon is filthy and the employees were extremely offensive. The smell outside of the salon was disgusting. When simply inquiring as to the wait time for one of their regular clients I was treated so disrespectfully. It is a shame when businesses forget that they are a service industry. read more

I had the pleasure of visiting Kilmarnock for a weekend long social event. I searched for the local nail shop. With it in the same shopping area as Walmart I checked Yelp for reviews. I took my chances and strolled in with no appointment on a busy Saturday morning. I was seated immediately for my pedicure. The pedicure was excellent. My technician Ivy was great. She really has great attention to detail and really took her time with my feet and small details like snipping ingrown toe nail edges. Perfect!! I also received a gel fill in by Maggie. Another great job by her. Between our small talk and seeing her attention to detail and asking me my preferences on shaping my nails and helping with color choices. I was completely won over by the shop. Just to be real, I'm super picky about cleanliness and a complete germ-o-phobe. I watched them clean each station with cleaner. I promise if I make it back they will definitely see me again. I wish I could get this kind of service at home. Lol read more

The owner suffers from anger issues. I was a customer for years. The last time, I forgot my glasses. Got home, looked at my nails...it looked like and 8th grader painted them. I called the salon, spoke to peter the owner, said I was not happy and returning to the salon. When I got there his wife redid them after several minutes of discussion. The owner was terribly rude to my friend when we came for a mani pedi. We signed in for a mani pedi and sat down to get our pedicure. When we finished I sat for my fill and mani and when she was done he took her to dry her toes. She told him she wanted a manicure too and he commenced to giving her speech about how she didn't tell him she had wanted a manicure. He was very rude and condescending. This establishment does not deserve the one star, but zero stars is not an option. I have been getting my nails done there for several years, despite the owner's outrageously rude behavior to customers. It is the staff who work there who did a good job so I kept returning. Until last week. I was selecting colors and one of the polishes slipped through my hands, dropped and shattered. The owner scowled but did not do anything to clean up the spilled polish, so I went to the back and grabbed paper towels. One of the girls working there stopped me, since there was glass. Then, the owner went over to pick up the spilled polish. I made light of the situation, thinking it must happen from time to time. He glared at me and told me that it wasn't funny (I wasn't laughing). I turned to my friend and said that maybe we should go somewhere else. As we walked out, the owner yelled, "and don't come back." Believe me, I won't, and I will make sure that all my friends that go there won't ever go back there either. But, it is located in the shopping center in a small town where the Wal-Mart is, so unfortunately, they will continue to get business with few other options and a central location. read more
