This morning, I showed up for my appointment, for which I had gotten a text reminder yesterday. The lights were on and door open, so I walked in. A young man told me, "we are closed". I said, "I have an appointment for a mani-pedi," and showed him the confirmation, mentioning how long ago I made the appointment. He repeated, "we are closed". No apology or anything. I told him that I was going out of town and couldn't reschedule, and he said, "I'll try to fit you in for a pedicure." He started a foot bath, then proceeded to berate me. "I don't know why you're upset. It's not my fault. I'm trying to help." I finally responded that I thought he was being unprofessional, at which point he said, "I don't feel like doing this. You can leave. I was already seated with my feet soaking. I told him I was upset, that he was being rude and unprofessional, and left. I came back to apologize for getting angry. I never raised my voice or used inappropriate language, but I was mad! He said, "that's okay, I have already noted that we will never serve you again. Won't be going back, and wanted to warn everyone else. This is not an appropriate way to treat customers, especially someone who has been a customer for several years.
