Came here to have a gel manicure removed (had it done elsewhere), and they convinced me to get a new, regular manicure, since it's only $5 more than the gel removal for a total of $15. The good: I'm not a nail expert but I do get my nails done several times a year and have been to a variety of places. One of my biggest turn-offs is cleanliness. Thankfully, this place was clean, open, and the staff were very friendly. The BAD: The woman I had (I don't know her name but she was seated at station 6) hurt me. 1) She went WAY overboard with her cuticle trimmers. She made 2 of my fingers bleed from cutting the side cuticles/hangnails too short, then she giggled and just continued on with the rest. 6 out of my 10 fingers currently hurt from that. 2) For some reason, she used nail clippers to clip the sides of my nice, long nails that had been growing for 3 weeks with the gel manicure. I didn't think much of it besides noticing that no one else has ever done that kind of clipping to me. BUT, within 1 week, all of those nails that had been clipped on the sides tore at the edges, below my normal nail line so I had to painfully clip them off/file down and now they are painfully short, jagged, and some even bled. She completely ruined my month's worth of nail growing for no reason??? 3) I purposely picked out the OPI brand because the others in there looked a little dingy. I initially noticed that it went on thinner than OPI I get at other salons. When I took the polish off at home 4 days later, it came off with barely any effort - something that never happens when I get manicures elsewhere. I know this is quite the accusation, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are filling their OPI bottles with cheaper polish. I certainly won't be returning but maybe I just had bad luck with my technician. read more

I've tried this place three times now and am not impressed. I had heard pretty good things about them and the prices can't be beat. I usually go at the end of the day after work, so around 7. I understand it's been a long day, but they are still open until 8 and I expect to still get decent service. The first time I went, I wasn't impressed with my pedicure but it was easier than doing it myself. The second time I went, the water was too hot and I got burned and the girl who was supposed to work on me laughed. I asked for another girl and was treated a little bit better. This last time will be my last. Not only were we rushed out, because they had children behind the counter, they made a mistake and charged my card $250. The gentleman came over and quickly told me what happened but that money is still in holding with my bank and it's 2 days before Christmas. After this, we were still scooted out the door in their flip flops and into the rain. My nails were still wet and I had to run in the rain to my car and wait in my car until they were dry. Way too aggressive with the scissors. A lot of annoying things, too. Kept moving my hand bag around. Kept turning on that blasted chair massage (I must have turned it off three times and he kept turning it back on). The list just goes on and on. I left after the pedi portion, and will NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN. read more

This place has really gone down hill since when I first used to go there. The pedicure was fine even if the tech skipped the massage. During the manicure I first noticed the previous guests nail clippings. Ugh! Next noticed the (serious) dirt under my manicurists nails. Started looking around and noticed everything is pretty dirty: mani tables, floor, gel light machine. Started to wonder: how well are they sanitizing instruments between guests? Yikes. Today was my first visit to this salon, and I was super disappointed. The guy who did my manicure was extremely rough and rushed through my appointment. He was rough when filing my nails and pushing back my cuticles. I had never felt pain when getting my nails done until today. Not to mention, he cut my middle finger and my thumb. He didn't even notice my cuts and went on applying nail polish remover on my wounds, which hurt like hell. I really hoped the tools were sanitized properly. oh man. this used to be my FAVE nail salon. still would be had i not come across cindy's nails down the pike. lol i havnt been there in a while so this review is based on all the times i used to go. if the eyebrow guy is still there he is BOMB. he pays close attention to everyone's eyebrows and does them to perfection. they are also good at doing nails. i used to always get acrylic nails and the ladies always made them look nice. sometimes i even allow them to just do whatever design and colors they wanted because the designs were always colorful and pretty. no appointment necessary since they welcome walk-ins BUT common sense if you go on a friday afternoon or weekend, when more people are getting their nails done and eyebrows waxed for the weekend, obviously it probably will be PACKED. so if you're on a time crunch go on the weekdays. lol deffinitley recommend this place :) read more

I have 2 words STAY AWAY!!! My first impression as I walked into this place was that it had a really awkward smell. Not pleasant at all but I still went with it. So I was greeted by a guy named Tam, who was very nice but at the time seemed very stressed. The entire time I was there, he was running around like a crazy person trying to run the entire place by himself. The guy who did my pedi (I didn't get his name) seem extremely inexperienced. Needless I say, I HATED my pedicure. After getting my pedicure, my feet still had dead skin on the heels and my toes looked like a 2nd grader has polished them. I typically enjoy the extra foot massage when I get my pedi but this one was torture!!!! While he thought he was massaging my foot, he was scraping the bottom of my foot with his nail!! Ouch!! As he painted my toenails he was shaking like he had no idea what he was doing. I honestly don't think this guy was a licensed nail tech. There's just NO WAY! And my feet aren't bad at all...just a little dryness here and there. Nothing major. So as I'm getting my pedi, I looked around and noticed just how dirty the place was and then I saw a roach crawl across the floor....yes I said a ROACH!!! Smh! So now I'm really ready to go but since I was going to an event over the weekend I really needed to get my nails filled and polished. Tan did my nails and shaped them nicely. He kept telling me that the nail polish that I bought in with me was too thick and he could barely paint my nails with it. I have never heard that in the 20 years that I've gotten my nails done. Not to mention that the Polish was brand new and I had just brought it from urban outfitters. After my nails fully dried they looked like CRAP!!!! I am sooo furious because I paid to have this crap done. I usually go to a place in Fallsgrove shopping center but decided to try somewhere that was slightly cheaper. It definitely was NOT worth it! So the experience here was not that great. First of their nail polish suck. The colors don't really look like what they look like when you put them on. Very cheap nail polish and extremely poor customer service. I asked to change the color i chose initially but, they refused to change it unless i paid an additional &10. Horrible men's haircut. I have a beard and the woman still trimmed my side burns, so now i have a dumb looking shaved area near my ear. It should be common sense not to cut that area, or at least ask. The price of $12 got me in the door, but wasn't worth it. You get what you pay for. My friend brought me to Nail Tech for a manicure. I think she had a good experience because she got the owner's wife who was very thorough, but I had a terrible experience and will certainly not be going back. There was an average selection of colors, many of which were unfortunately garish. The technician did a poor job with my cuticles, applied the coats of polish very unevenly and missed applying polish to spots close to my nail beds. A couple of hours after I left, the polish had chipped on one nail and peeled half off on another. The prices are quite cheap, but considering even I do a better job myself, it certainly wasn't worth the time or money. read more

The co-owner was very nice and did a good gel manicure at a reasonable price. However, she used a drill to remove my old gel (I didn't know you're not supposed to do this.) It hurt while she was doing it and for a few days later, and it damaged my natural nails. It is taking a long time for them to grow back and in the meantime I have divots in my nails. I've had my nails done here a number of times and mostly pedicures only because regular manicures just don't last very long at all. They are very inexpensive and do a good job for the money. I do think the place could be a bit cleaner, but it's acceptable. I've had several of their regulars work on me. There's one I like the best and I keep forgetting her name so that I can ask for her. One time a guy did my toenails and was pretty rough because I guess he didn't realize his strength. I recently went in to get a mani/pedi and decided to get gel on my fingernails because it lasts so much longer. I'm not sure if it was because I came in kind of late, but one staff person worked on my toenails, the lady I like, and another staff did the gel on my fingernails. I'm used to getting the entire treatment when I do bother to have a manicure and she just propped my hands up on a nail dryer on the massage chair I was sitting in while the other staff did my toenails. I got the typical great treatment on my toenails...the soaking, cuticle remover, callous scrubbing and lower leg and foot massage, and then an excellent color application, plus a lot more pleasant smiling from the staff doing the work. For my fingernails, I kept having to adjust my position in the chair and there was barely any prep to my nails but maybe a little buffing of the nail bed...no cuticle remover or cuticle trimming or even pushing cuticles back, moisturizing or massaging. My cuticles are usually very dry and have to be tamed all the time. After she completed the perfunctory prep for the gel and undercoat/topcoats and drying under the light, I looked and thought they were OK, but really missed the usual pampering treatment. After I left and the more I examined the work, I was not satisfied with the gel manicure at all. One finger had a couple of tiny bubbles and on at least 3 fingers, she brushed the gel color over the cuticle. I tried to "fix" one of the fingers at home and it just made it worse and now that finger and my right index finger has a chip. I plan now to ask for a "re-do" after I talk to Tam, but I may just not bother. I really want to give Nail Tech a higher rating because I think they're nice and make a genuine effort to give good customer service and customer satisfaction, but they do have some misses sometimes and my "gel" experience was one of them. I've gone here several times for mani/pedi's and it's hit or miss. Tam is excellent, but he is usually booked. He does a good job on eyebrows also. I have diabetes, and I always warn them and ask them to be very careful, especially with my feet. The last time I went, the tech (Tam's wife I believe) cut my toenails way too short, and cut my skin, too. Several toe nails were cut to the quick. My toes were sore for days. She also did a horrible job on the polish. This was one of my worst experiences anywhere, and I won't be going back again. This was not the first time I was dissatisfied with her, but I decided to give her another chance. As the salon was quiet (for once), I was surprised at how much she rushed. The shop needs a good scrubbing, and the chairs are getting old and showing wear. The prices are very good, but I think I would rather pay a little more for better service. If you're looking for nail designs, this is not the place to go. I would recommend Tam only. read more

Went to this place because a friend of mine recommended it. I originally wanted to get a regular manicure and pedicure but I forgot the jeans I had on wouldn't roll up because they were too skinny. The guy who helped us, pushed so hard for me to get gel manicure (but what is new at a nail salon) after he asked 5 times I was really annoyed. Then he continued to push for a pedicure even though I told him my jeans wouldn't roll up and let's be honest the leg massage is one of the main reasons people gets pedicures in winter time. So to continue with my horrible experience here the guy doing my manicure didn't even let me nails soak up in water before removing my cuticles but he used the drill used for acrylic nails!! Not to mention he cut my skin with the drill. Then he had an apprentice do my nails the guy looked like he didn't know what he was doing. I'm very picky when it comes to my fingernails because I like to get all the extra skin removed (The entire purpose of manicures) the nail tech came back and barely removed the skin, then the apprentice stepped back in and started painting my nails. EVEN I KNOW and I AM NOT A NAIL TECH that the first coat of polish can't be so thick so you can't use so much polish, well this guy used a lot of polish and of course it took forever for the polish to dry. Nail tech came back in and applied the second coat. Mind you, he didn't cover the first layer of nail polish entirely. So here I am waiting for this ridiculous thick nail polish to dry, it's been 10 minutes and the guys turns off the fan and says "you are done, you may leave". I was like really? Of course, I leave and ALL 10 nails were messed up and I can actually see both layers of nail polish under lapping. So much for birthday nails. I don't even want to come back to get them fixed, I honestly rather do my own. NEVER COMING BACK! read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. The work is complete TRASH! Might as well have a toddler do your nails and toes, for all it's worth it will probably look and last longer! You have to give them so much guidance like I might as well be a "certified nail tech" then. Nails are uneven, gel polish is not smooth and even. Who even told them to put one finger under the light at the time? Do they see their work? The penny pinch for EVERYTHING! How do you do a gel set and manicure without doing the cuticles? But tell us it is a charge and considered extra smh. How do you "forget" to put a top coat on a pedicure? Where they do that at? Where? Were you going to sprinkle water? 2 and half hours for a regular pedicure and gel fill in? No! Even a nail tech student can get it done faster and without a doubt better. Please do yourself a huge favor, save your hard earned money, time and humiliation for the shit job you'll get! I will never go back, first and last time! I do not recommend this place at all. They're business is horrible and they ripped off me and my friend and tried to deny it. They stole 60 dollars from my friend and denied they took it but we were the only ones in the whole place. All my friends who went there got a nail infection a week after they got a pedicure and had to treat an ingrown toenail. They aren't clean. I got a fill in and most people who work there are new and they messed up the inside of my nail by accidentally slipping the clipper on It. Today was my first time going to that place and I just wanted to treat myself so I had mani, pedi and blowdry. They open at 10am and the owner greeted me and started my pedi. He was by himself, more people are coming in and apparently all his staff are late to work, so he started to take care of everyone at the same time. He did my pedi half way, and another lady finished it up. Then I had my blow dry, the worst one I have ever done. As far as I experienced, this place is specialized in nail and getting a blow dry there was a big mistake. He started to pull my hair to the point of hurting each time. He blamed it on my hair, saying my hair is too thick and it s a lot of work. After 10-15 min, as someone was waiting for eyebrow, he tells me that by doing my hair he no longer need to go to the gym and he needs a break. He then took care of another lady for eyebrow. The result was awful, I looked like a lion and did not even care to ask if I like it but just pushed me to another lady for my mani. I then told him that he could at least use flat iron because it is so puffy. He then tells me that he would charge me 10$ extra for that. In other words, this place is so unprofessional and casual. The restroom was full of poop on the seat, the floor is not swept, no hygiene at all. I gave 2 stars for the friendliness of the ladies. The owner to me has no experience in blow dry and runs everywhere to take care of everyone. It then affects his service quality. I will never go back again. read more
