I try to give local business more than one try. Slow,rude,bossy. I was coming for a few months to get my nails done and pedicures. It was close.But after this past Sunday I'm done. I had to soak my nails off. She had an attitude about that. Said several times oh this takes so long. I know this and you are charging me to soak off. Then as she put a new full set she complained. Oh they so long. Again I'm paying so it should not matter. Then had to tell her several times my nails need to be shaped Even. Everyone cannot do nails. I know when I go to do my nails I'm paying at minimum 60 bucks not including tax -so please just do a good job. This place is good for a pedi but that about it. But I will no longer go even for that. My first visit bringing my 4 year old daughter. I was immediately rushed through picking a nail color. Once I sat down for my pedicure the nail tech started immediately with no time to soak my feet. The rush completely destroyed my experience. The shop was not busy yet they were rushing. at the end of the less than 20 min pedicure and nail color for my 4 year old I was charged $65... $40 for my pedicure and $25 to paint my 4 year old's finger nails and toe nails. I came in for soak off and a regular manicure. During the removal, the technician used the drill too much which was painful and when I asked if I could just soak my nails she said "ok, if you don't care about your skin that's ok". The nail polish is uneven and messy. After I sat under the dryer, she felt my nails and told me to go home. While paying, I ruined 2 of my nails and subsequently realized they had not dried enough. I did not enjoy my time at this salon and just went home instead of asking her to fix it. The salon was dirty- the floor was not vacuumed and the sink area was not washed. I've gone there many times over the years and it's hit or miss. what bothers me is they talk to each other in their language while doing your services and I find it very rude. today I went and felt rushed. Ok, I get that but then I was told to get out of the chair to accommodate someone else because they were short staffed. I went in the room and sat in the chair and she asked me if I wanted to do my upper lip as well. I politely declined. She made a disgusted face and asked "Why?" I was in shock. How rude can you be? She continued to point out the hair on my upper lip and told me it's so much smoother and better when waxed. Whatever lady. This place is horrible and ridiculously over priced. I went in for a pedicure and i was in the chair for a total of 15 minutes. They didn't scrub or massage my feet. They paint job was also sub par. Got my anc done a couple weeks ago here and have never been more unhappy with the service and how they came out. I forget who did my nails but she was extremely aggressive. At one point, I didn't move my thumb the way that she wanted and she dug her finger nail into my finger and after looking at the indent that she made in my hand, she said,"this is what's going to happen if you don't relax your hand." I was disgusted and looking back, I am unsure why I didn't just leave at that moment. My nails are a mess. There was powder under my nails and in my cuticles. BAD QUALITY & POOR SERVICE! [TL;DR] The previous bad reviews are true. DO NOT give them the benefit of the doubt! Use Complexions for serious spa activities. A good-hearted friend gave me a gift certificate to this place. Despite the poor reviews and warnings, how could I not go? SERVICE: I watched two walk-ins be seated prior to my appointment for a specialty full-service pedicure ($50), was ignored when I followed-up after 10 minutes of waiting, and no one updated me as to what was going on (ETA? reason?). As I began plans to leave, I was invited to sit for service (15 minutes after scheduled time). On a positive note, complimentary self-service water and coffee available while waiting QUALITY: In ANY opinion, I received a BAD basic pedicure let alone any advanced spa treatment experience. The polish didn't cover the full nail on several toes yet present on plenty of skin. In addition, the nails weren't cut correctly/evenly. Besides lotion on my legs, the full-service experience ($50) described when scheduled was nonexistent - a BAD basic pedi. I don't understand how a professional could do such a bad job (SO much worse than anyone would do at home)!? I've been here a few times once for a pedicure and twice for a manicure. The pedicure was fine. I really had not complaints about it. However, both times my manicure has not been good. The first time I got a darker red color as it was winter. The technician didn't take the color all the way to the cuticle on a few of my fingers, so when it grew out, it looked atrocious. The second time I got a manicure the technician, didn't take the color all the way to to the sides of my nails on the majority of the nails. When I said something, she said that it was because my nails were "wavy". Yes, my nails are ridge-y but that isn't a reason not to take it all the way to the edge. While she did fix my nails, she continued to argue with me. I get gel at least once a month and the ridges in my nails have never been a problem before. I'm not the type to assume the customer is always right, but the arguing with me wasn't necessary. Then since the "waves" excuse didn't go over with me, she said it was the color....um no...she didn't take it to the edge because she rushed. She rushed through the whole manicure and I was also left with parts of my cuticle ripped off as well. There were several employees that yelled at the receptionist as well. She was handling the issue with my nails. But they still yelled at her. It was awkward and very unprofessional. I won't be back. read more

Fairly new to the area from Boston and trying to find a go-to nail place. This place seemed pretty good from the start, but I can't say I totally recommend it based on the final product. Nicely decorated (relatively), and seemed pretty clean/hygienic. Some cute little touches like free granola bars. Staff was friendly; they were overly chatty and loud with one another, but they were equally chatty with customers so this was tolerable. My technician made me feel a bit ostracized for not going with gel, which put a bad taste in my mouth (I just wanted a regular...wish this weren't such a problem so many places lately). Not sure if it was for this reason, but she did a pretty shoddy job on my nails. They're not awful, but in paying for something I'd rather have it be done MUCH better than I could do myself. Overall she just seemed kind of inattentive, like she wanted to be done with me (I guess because I wasn't a more valued gel nail cu$tomer). My nails are a bit uneven in shape, some patchy parts on the sides of the nails, and overall came out kind of dull in finish. I actually just went over them with my own top coat at home (the one she used seemed really crappy) just now and they look much better. Again, not a huge deal---but what am I paying for? Not the worst I've encountered in the Capital Region, but I'll probably keep looking. read more

I had a gift certificate for this spa and decided to use it before it expires tomorrow. When I entered,they appeared to be very busy. Most technicians were with with customers, and every seat in the waiting area was filled. Since sitting wasn't an option, I used this time to find the colors that I wanted to use for my mani/pedi. After browsing the extremely underwhelming selection of polishes, I decided on 2 colors. To their credit, they worked quickly,and I was being called for my pedicure in under 20 minutes. He problem? My polish color. My technician immediately told me that I could not use the color I originally had chosen. She stated that it changes ALOT when the top clear coat is applied. Why is it still on the shelf? No clue, but didn't think that was the time to ask. So, after she rushed through pedicure, she sent me to find another color. Mind you, their selection is extremely underwhelming. It took me over 5 minutes, before I decided to go with a color that I wasn't crazy about. At this point, a manicure was not happening. I made the decision to just get the pedicure done and over with. My frustration and dissatisfaction was very clear at this point. She decided to use the color I had originally chosen to try to appease me. Imagine my surprise when the color DID NOT CHANGE after applying the clear coat. She rushed through the paint job as well, and sent me to the dryer. The outcome? An almost $30 pedicure that looks like it was done by my 11 year old niece. I literally had to take a q-tip and wipe the excess polish off my feet. I will never return read more

Just had a pedicure at this location for the first time. This is no doubt the worst pedicure I have ever had. I will not be returning to this salon. The staff is very unorganized. The technician rushed through my pedicure, leaving me with uneven nails, uneven polish, and nail polish on my skin. Even the top coat is uneven and left in clumps. This used to be my go to place for 5 years. I moved away and came back to town for my brothers wedding and I was a bridesmaid. There were 8 of us who wanted to get their nails done before the rehearsal dinner . I suggested to go here since I had always gone there and it was the first place me and my soon to be sister in law went to hang out together. I was highly disappointed, there was no soak time for my pedicure , my feet were immediately done and I received no special massage. I arrived early since I was the only person getting a fill rather than a mani and the woman next to me was complaining about her nails and was explaining to her nail tech that she will not be returning because she is disappointed in which the tech began speaking another language to the tech working on my nails. When the customer asked her to stop she told her she wouldn't stop talking in her language and was extremely rude to that customer . When the bride arrived she asked for the extra massage which was on the "menu" for a few dollars extra the woman told her we are not massage spa, they only do pedicure not massages and if she wanted one she could go across the street. The little flower girls were rushed through their pedicures and their toe painting. Overall it was a highly disappointing experience . My nails are not done well and are very thin. I have had gel tips for several years now and this was the quickest nail fill I've ever had. The color on the nails does not look right and the cuticles are white as shown in the photo. This salon is horrible. Everything is messy, they make zero attempt to organize or display the nail polish so you have to dig around forever just to find a color. During my entire manicure, there were several other staff surrounding the person doing my nails, speaking loudly to each other, laughing hysterically, and eating potato chips. It was like they were on their break but in the middle of the salon while one of them was still actually doing a manicure. If you're looking for a relaxing experience, this is not it. The manicure was very short and basic, they tried to sell me a gel manicure repeatedly even after I politely declined. The WORST! Called and made an early morning appointment for 6 mani/pedi. Girls day including 2 granddaughters one 5yr old, first time for getting her nails done. We showed up and everyone was suprised to see us. The staff was rude and impatient from the beginning. We should have left, but I really wanted the kids to have the experience. Never thought they would continue to be so rude the entire time. I would love to include a picture of my manicure 4 days later chipped cracked peeled and my cuticles are disgusting. They tried to rush us into seats with no time to really pick out colors. Of course we took our time and we told them what we wanted and we made the best of it. For $226 you shouldn't have to make the best of anything! When I made the appointment they knew we had a child with us for her first spa and how many of us were coming in. The manager set the appointment. They weren't doing us any favors we were doing them a consideration by bringing them our business. My daughter in law had to tell her 5 yr old after over half an hour to take her feet out of the water. She was left for last and very rudely rushed through painting of her toes and fingernails. I went to Nail Studio and Spa for the 1st time last week. I called the day before to make an appt. and find out prices on A and C. I was quoted one price and when I got my nails done the following day they charged me a different price. When I questioned it they told me I had to pay extra to have my old polish removed. Had an appointment for a pedicure and manicure with ANC. Waited 30 minutes past my appointment time, just to wait another 10 minutes for less than poor service. They were so busy and under staffed, I chose not to have my pedicure and to proceed with my fingernails. NEVER got a manicure, they didn't have time apparently and left with $45 ANC that was so incredibly gloppy and uneven, it looked like I had a melted pink marshmallow on each of my nails. If my daughter had not been there I would have punched this "you know what" in the mouth and walk out. I have visited this place at least five times and this was the last straw. I have to share today's horrendous experience: The salon was pretty dead seeing how it was a Sunday, so I walked in and was greeted by an older lady ( you know who if you frequent). Everything seemed smooth until... - I was rushed to sign in and pick out a nail polish - The pedicure water was cold (male staff walked by and felt) -The three staff working close to each other were talking "Chinese" about myself and the other customers the whole time I was there. -VERY, VERY, AWKWARD: I was offered a manicure that I politely declined, not a minute later I was being stared at while the staff laughed and than offed me an eyebrow wax. STAFF WAS VERY RUDE, MADE FOR AN UNCOMFORTABLE SPA VISIT One last thing, while doing my pedicure she offered to remove the foot calluses which she indicted would be an extra $10 or so, I accepted... the problem....she only did one foot and now I am walking around with a soft foot and a rough foot. deffinately would NOT recommend!! first I got there and there was PLENTY of technicians and only about 3 customers and when I signed in (was a walk-in) they said it would be about a 5 minute wait and to just pick out my color. so, I pick out my color and go sit and wait. I came with my mom and she was getting a manicure and pedicure so they had her sit and have her feet start soaking during the wait. after about 45 minute they finally called me over to get my nails done. I don't know how long it was before they got to my mom but she said her water had turned cold. keep in mind there were probably 5 extra technicians doing nothing at all. as I was getting my anc taken off from last time she took off my tips which I never asked her to do. I told her I wanted my tips still on and she said that because she already started she would have to finish taking off these tips and add new ones and that would cost an EXTRA $10! I politely said no thank you just leave my real nail and after she finally got off all the tips she chopped my nails down to stubs then added my anc. she made a total mess with the anc and it was all over my hands and still isn't all the way off. all I needed was to get my nails done so there wasn't a huge grown out gap but instead I got butchered nails and an unhappy mom on our girls day read more

I got my nails done this past sunday 10/8/17 (acrylic, french tip, full set). Not only were my nails uneven thickness, but i left with acrylic all over my skin on my fingers. Also while doing my nails, the technician cut my finger twice with the nail file. Then the next day my nails started to have a yellow hue to them and already starting to lift up! Prices were a little high, but I don't mind paying it if they come out good. Looking around the "spa" it didn't look clean, the bathroom was also very dirty as well. Very disappointed, as the only other time I've come here, I had a very similar experience. Will not be back. read more
