I did my gel manicure on Friday, today is Monday and the gel is getting off. I don't know if it was the technique used or the materials

Again reviewing this salon as it's truly the best I've been to in NYC and I've been getting my nails done since I was 16 years old here! If you can, book an appointment with Norah, she's the sweetest and so efficient. I had a gel x set removal and new set and it came out to 110! You can definitely find cheaper in the city but this place is worth every penny! Bring cash when you come because they give you a 10% discount! Their loyalty program is also phenomenal and you can rack up points to get discounts.

Ellie did an amazing job on my nails! Asked for very short and round nails and it's exactly what I wanted. Service was good, and the little back massage they give is nice. Pricey but worth it! $90+ They let me know that if anything were to happen to the nails I'd be able to come back free of charge. What I got: Gel extensions and gel polish color 011.

All the cuts are from me since I bite my nails.

Such a great location. I always am a little nervous getting my nails done as I bite them a lot and they short, the skin around then is raw and cut up. I opted for gel extensions since I needed length. I've only had acrylics so I was excited to the something new. I got short almond and they look so natural. Olivia took her time to file them down since I so not like long nails. We did a cute spring time nail art. I would definitely go back. Plus they have a reward program after so many points you get a discount.

Gel polish peeling off the next day.

It could have been better. The pedicure was lackluster. There was no real work on the calluses and my manicure the next day is peeling. The top coat is layered over my skin.

Just moved to the area and was looking for a new nail salon. Got gel mani and gel paid. The salon "appears" to be clean. However I witnessed that the nail tech that did a pedicure for prior, rinsed the bowl with water only and proceeded to take the next client. That is unacceptable for me. I should have told the lady who came in to get her pedicure that the bowl was not sanitized properly. As far as my manicure and pedicure they were ok. Nail polish was applied to thick and had globs. Also, after about a week the polish started to get stained. I don't really work with my hands, and don't see an obvious reason or explanation for this. My prior nail tech told me that the staining is from low quality or expired/old product. The only plus is that the interior is cute and they offer water/tea.

Very clean, neat and well organized nail salon. Aseptic technique. My nails looked beautiful. They do many designs for gel manicures. Show them a photo or select from many styles that they have in store. They offer complimentary tea to customers. The gel is $30 including tax, but you have to have cash. Each design is an extra charge (per finger), it ranges from $2 to $6. You get what you pay for, it's expensive but they do a really good job.

I love Nail Project. It's my go to salon in Park Slope. Everyone is always so kind and they always do a wonderful job and never rush.

Gel polish chipped after 4 days. I expect this with a regular manicure not gel.

I was sooo disappointed with my most recent visit here. I hadn't been in a while but I remembered how good they were in the past. I always got a gel mani with a design and I was always happy with the results. This time around my tech was awful. So I am just writing this so you all know if you go here, request anyone but Sydney. When I first arrived the person who greeted me was super welcoming and friendly but she did not end up being my nail tech. I sat down with Sydney for my pedicure at around 640 (my appt was at 630 for a pedicure and gel mani) . She was done with my pedicure in about 20 minutes. It was sooo quick. This entire time she hadn't said one word to me and when I asked her if they still had the design book so I could decide what to do on my nails she just said no. I was like ok...when she was done with my toes I asked her well can you do a design and she said no she didn't have time!! Without even looking at what I was interested in or anything she just said no. I was super annoyed at this point as I had made an appt so I don't understand how my tech "didn't have time". It's been 4 days and I have 3 chipped nails. Ugh I really used to like nail project but this particular tech was the worst.

This is what I ended up leaving with.

Also there was no pre-care. They do a Brazilian facial, but it's just like a scrub, which you should never do at the same time as a Sugaring or a waxing. Those processes are already physically exfoliating. With no hot towels, there is no way to open up the pores to loosen up the hairs so I had a bunch of breakage. I had regrowth within the week. Sugaring should give you about 2 1/2 weeks hair free. My technician was talented, but she only had a firm paste available to her so it was incredibly painful while she molded the sugar which shouldn't be painful at all. It was like dragging silly putty over my hairs. The walls needed another coat of white paint. You could see faint purple paint behind it. The bed is so rickety and narrow. There's no padding, I could feel the frame under my body. It was like laying on a wooden slab. My butt cheeks hung off of either side of the table. This is definitely not a double bolt treatment table, so all of the weight rests on a single bolt that could break. No windows no Plants. Nothing comforting.
