This place was amazing. It was my first time here and what a great experience I had. Quality care and professional. Paraffin wax on my heels while my toes were painted and warm towel massage while my nails dried. Nails and toes done to perfection was cleaned and cut cuticles and shaped nicely. I will definitely come back. I also met very nice patrons there as well. I saw Jenny and she did a wonderful job and great massage on legs /feet. Upper back and neck while nails dried. I'm hoping that I'll be able to do an updated review for this place at some point but I'm pretty upset with how the staff handled my last encounter there. I called in a few days prior and asked if I would need to make an appointment or if walk-ins are acceptable. The woman said "no appointment is needed you can just walk in " she seemed really busy so I said "no worries! Thanks!" Now I know that it's my own fault for not just saying "sure just book me" But I figured since it isn't far away, a walk in would be fine. I walked in at 5 o'clock and the staff looked at me like I had five heads and said do you have an appointment? I stated that I didn't and mentioned what happened on the phone call. The nail tech rudely said that I would have to call to make an appointment and that she couldn't take me today because they were closing in an hour. Mind you, all I needed was a regular manicure pedicure & they close at 7.... That's 2 hours. I'm not mad that she couldn't take me because again; my own fault for not just sealing in an appointment, I'm just upset with the way she handled the situation and made me feel like I did something completely wrong when just a few days prior, I was told it wasn't needed or necessary. read more

The place is great! The prices are reasonable too. Pedicures are relaxing and massage your feet longer than 20 seconds. So worth it. Will not go anywhere but here! Everyone is extra nice and theres always someone massaging your back too with a hot towel. Thank you nail island! read more

I was staying at an Airbnb on city island for my baby shower/ Labor Day weekend getaway and came here to get a mani/pedi. It was a wonderful experience! The pedicure was such a nice, long, relaxing foot and leg massage and she painted the nails great too. Manicure was also very relaxing, neat, and carefully done. Everyone was also very friendly and prices were very reasonable. Then cherry on top was the 5 minute shoulder massage they give you while your nails dry! I love this place. I have acrylic nails and Michelle is wonderful. She is meticulous and takes pride in her work. I've had my filling done by several other ladies and it was equally great. I never make an appointment I just walk in but I never go when it's crazy busy. Overall great experience fair price. read more

I come here every few weeks to get a pedicure. Men past 50 must take care of their feet. I must say despite the wait sometimes, it's definitely one of the best nail salons around. The people are courteous and friendly there. They don't try to see you things that you don't want or need. It's clean and well lit. The staff acts professionally. It's very reasonable in terms of price as well. There is ample street parking or you can park in Seafood City. I highly recommend this establishment. read more

This place was one of my favorite. Whenever I was in that area. Not until I had an incident, it happened to me twice. One of the times I set up an appointment so the owner can do my nails. I get there I get a pedicure first and when I'm ready for my gel manicure the owner tells me she can't do because is too late. And she took another customer that didn't even had an appointment at the time I did. It was very disappointing and not fair. Even though this happened to me I continued to go to this place. And just about a month ago it happened again. I went there for my gel manicure and regular pedicure. I could hear the phone ring and the owner kept making appointments for other customers It was about 5:30 to 6pm. Ok one of the customers that called walks in and she starts to get her manicure by the owner. And there's like one or two more clients that made an appointment within the time I was there doing my pedicure. When is my turn to do my manicure. The owner has the nerves to tell me that sorry she can't do it because is late and she's closing soon. I was really! But you still have customers waiting for you. She recommended me to just take off the gel and come back another day. No way I was already there for almost 3 hours. And she wanted me to walk out with my nails not done. All she kept saying was sorry, sorry really. Very sarcastic. She was not sorry. She didn't care. This lady works based on the amount of tip she's getting and someone made the comment that she wanted those clients because of the amount of tip. That's how she appreciates her customers not fair at all. And I always give a decent amount of tip. But I guess not enough to be appreciate it and taken care of like those other customers. I walk out of there super disappointed and super sad for the treatment I received. read more

Aside from the wait... but then again, I visited on an early Saturday afternoon so a wait is expected... I can say "Nail Salon" is by far one of the better nail salons I've ever visited because of the complimentary services they offer every customer! Today was my first visit and I requested a Basic mani and pedi. My pedicure included a paraffin wax on my heel. I also received a shoulder massage while my nails dried. And later, assistance from the nail tech who applied oil to my toe nails then wrapped plastic around my feet Before helping me place my boots on. Maybe I'm breaking some unspoken code of silence on keeping our our local nail salon a secret. I don't know why there are no reviews; Sara and her staff deserve kudos. Every few weeks I get a pedicure. I have experimented with a number of other nail salons in our area, and Nail Island is the best. A pedicure price is about the same at all the salons, but the quality of the pedicure and the ambiance vary a lot. The worst was a salon that had a detective show playing loudly on the TV that involved body parts. Very hard to tune out while someone is massaging your legs and using sharp clippers ... Nail Island is clean, quiet, and friendly. The pedicure is thorough; very good foot and leg massage. Big selection of colors. read more
