He's new and still learning the ropes and my appointment was a tad bit longer than expected, and I wish that there had been some type of compensation for that. After being a loyal well tipping customer for over a year, coming in 2-3 times a month, and paying outrageous prices, I expect a nail set that looks and feels professionally done. I politely pointed out quite a few imperfections and mentioned the issues with the previous set, hoping there would be a mutual understanding. I was paying well over $160 a session for an application of hard gel with no extensions, no paint whatsoever, every 3 weeks. As gentle as I am on my nails, within the first week they should not be chipping, lifting, not applied correctly in the first place, should not have bubbles or bumps in the application, should cover my entire nail, no excess chunks below and around nail, the list goes on. I was told in the most unprofessional way that I need to lower my expectations. Flabbergasted. Neither I or my MIL have been back and have since found a kinder, ethically priced salon with much better quality and services. Artist wise it's really nice. I dislike they kind of force you be to a loyal customer from the get go. You can't go in as a first time client wanting a full, you have to get a full set. I dislike you have to make appointments, my work schedule is very crazy and doesn't always allow me set times. With that being said, you would think they would open around 8 or 9 but they open late and set appointments by time, meaning you only have a limited time in the seat. I have never been to such a clean and professional nail salon. I've been going to Nail Gloss for a year and a half now for GelX and I'm so glad my friend told me about it! Amanda is my nail tech and she is fab-u-LOUS! I also love Hahn. They're so great with my difficult designs! Nail Gloss did just raise their prices though, and it's a bit pricey now. I will say that. Typically I paid $132+ $20 tip. Now it's $150 + $20 tip. I just can't justify that. So I'm just going to get designs on 4 nails instead of all 10 I guess. Bummer for me! But still excellent work! I'll still be getting my nails done here sometimes because I love them so much, but I will have to find somewhere else for my designs on all 10 fingers. They discriminate against healthcare workers. On 7/13/2020 the salon posted an Instagram call for a person with bare natural nails. I replied and said I'm interested. They replied (pictures provided). Informed them I'm coming from 45 minutes away. I get to the salon and the only thing I'm told from the owner is to wash my hands and someone will get me. A man approached me and told me to take a seat and he walked away. I sit for a couple minutes then I ask the man what I'm here for. He didn't understand so I showed him the Instagram messages. He then told me I can pick out any design I want for a full set. I ask him for the current trends and he told me to look on their account. So while I'm looking he leaves to talk to the manager and he comes back and says it's free full set and I can pick the design. So then I told him I never had a full set before because I'm a healthcare worker so I was excited. He then walked away to the manager and the manager comes up to me and says I need to leave. I ask her why? She said "hand models cannot give us restrictions and you are a healthcare worker so you have a length restriction". And I told her I never said I had any restrictions and he didn't tell me about any restrictions when I sat down. Then she apologized told the man to leave and told me she can't take me because I'm a healthcare worker. I asked her if she was discriminating against me for being a healthcare worker and she said no we just know healthcare workers can't wear gloves with long nails. And then I told her I didn't understand where she was coming from since I told her I was fine with him doing any design length etc on me. Despite me being nice telling them I don't have any length or design restrictions they still refused to do a manicure on me! On top of that they knew I was coming from 45 min away. I'm very disappointed in this salon and do not appreciate them discriminating against my occupation especially since as a physician I value my career and the patients I take care for especially during the pandemic. read more

I have been getting my nails done for over 20 years and have never been treating so horribly - dismissed because of polish chipping and lifting after 3 weeks. While the look of the nails is good for 5-7 days - you have lifting, and polish chipping (which is normal wear and tear for acrylics in my opinion) plus this is the most expensive nail salon i have ever been to. $135 for a full coffin set. I am a single mom who values time and hard work. I work a stressful job and get my nails and hair done to relax. This establishment does not cause their customers. Oh and they could cancel on you with no warning so be warned oh and they believe they have the right to charge you that. She waited for me, since I was ridiculously late, and even still she took her time and in no way did I feel rushed or like I was a bother to her. I try to keep my hands maintained myself as much a possible and I'll admit my beds were pretty beat up from coming out of another dip set but my cuticles were in good shape. Still, push them back. Watch how you're putting the bond on them because there is no cleaning them up as you would with regular polish or gel. I paid for a service that I now have to remove and have redone elsewhere. I called at 4:30pm, asking if they possibly had any open availability after 5:30 for a shellac mani. The girl on the phone said I can come at 5. They are on hall and Hayes, I was on 18 and mound and it's rush hour. So I said I can try my absolute best but I might be stuck in traffic, to which she said "no worries." It was about 4:55 and my navigation said I had 7 more minutes to get there. I called the salon and apologized but advised I'd be there by 5:05-10 the latest due to traffic. She assured me it's no problem at all! I arrive at 5:11 on the dot. I walk in and say "hi I had the 5pm. I just called to let you know I was running late due to traffic." The girl that was sitting at the front desk looked at me like I was dumb or something and said "uhh.. ummm.. hold on." She walks to the nail tech, who is 10 feet away from me so I can hear everything. She says this girl is late for her appt, what should I do? Nail tech replies, "that's not my problem. Just moved into the area and saw this new hip nail salon. The pros is that they are update with trends and do great art work. The cons is that they are a little unprofessional. You get the vibe like you are back in high school. Service is overpriced. Charge way too much if you want the mermaid look. I got the gel manicure and it didn't stay on. It started to peel after a week. It's probably because it was not cured long enough. The nail tech does make you feel like they are rushing a bit. I hesitate to go back to nail gloss because you pay for over price service and the end product isn't the best. But the technician told me that she can't do hard gel and she's isn't the person who did the design so she can't do it!!! And she was I only do acrylic and will do just plane! I was like I'm fine with just plane color but I don't want acrylic I booked for hard gel if you can't do it so just switch to someone else that can do it. The manager came and she was super rude and inefficient, instead of finding solution she said you either do what she can do or you can leave and lose the deposit!
