I went to this salon to get my acrylic nails removed, and the experience was really disappointing. The person who worked on my nails didn't seem to know the proper way to remove acrylics. Instead of soaking them first to soften the acrylic, he immediately tried to cut them off, which was painful. I told him it was hurting, but he kept using the electric machine and cutting into the acrylic. Only after that did he add liquid to try to soften the nails, but by then the whole process was already very messy and uncomfortable. This is not the proper way acrylic nails should be removed. Because of this, my natural nails are now very damaged and look terrible. I was also concerned about the cleanliness of the tools. They did not appear to be properly sanitized, and now I'm worried because I may have developed a fungal infection on my nails. Overall, this was a very bad experience. This place must have gotten new owners since I've been here last because this salon is super dirty, unorganized and unprofessional looking on the inside. Thank goodness the guy doing my pedicure opened tools from a new package because I was worried about sanitation practices when I walked through the door. Pedicure was sufficient but mediocre. My massage chair didn't work well even though I pushed multiple buttons to try to get it to work. I won't be returning due to the fact that there are so many other nail salons to pick from in Midland that offer a better experience even if it's a couple more dollars to spend. I had read the reviews and decided to go to the nail Gallery because it said that they were on time,friendly and very clean. I had a 930 appointment. My pedicure started about 920. I was the only customer in the shop until about 10. I asked for and received a basic pedicure and clear polish manicure. The price was $55.00 The studio was well worn and cleanliness is a little bit below average. Emery board and nail buffer seemed to be reused items. Little time was spent on my dry heels. . Sooooo, I usually do not do this, but after my experience with this establishment and who I am assuming is the owner, I decided that I will be a complete ass since that's how they want to play it. Long story short: they do not have essential communication and problem-solving skills. Imagine trying to get a snobby bratty only-child kid to apologize and acknowledge their fault (impossible). I simply wanted my nails done bro, that's it. I would have come back if it was not for the way I was treated and spoken to. Completely ridiculous. Place is clean. Staff is very friendly. I got a shellac mani/pedi for a total of 70 dollars. Very happy with my nails. They spend a lot of time with each treatment and do a good quality job. The massage for the pedicure was one of the longest I've ever had. It was wonderful!!! Would definitely go back again. They accept card but prefer cash. Also it seems there are only 3 ppl working there so it may be a good idea to make an apt. I waited 30 for the pedicure. Someone came in behind me and the wait for her was 1 hour for a pedicure. I was a walk-in looking for nail extensions (tips), a full set (gel) and a gel mani. Although they had clients when I walked in, I was sat down almost immediately and was given ample opportunity to pick my colors. Within about 10 minutes Mike was able to start my manicure. He was kind, professional, and took his time with my manicure. The shape is exactly what I asked for (almond) and the colors were painted on smoothly. While I typically prefer to not have drills used on my nails and nail beds, I didn't express this interest today and allowed Mike to do his job the way he does it best. The drills were not overused, meaning my nail beds were not over-drilled to the point of being thin/damaged and my cuticles were not left bleeding. My only complaint is in regards to the ventilation of the space. I'm super sensitive to headaches and the smells of three people getting their nails done (polishes, acetones, etc) gave me a bit of a headache. read more

I've been here a few times and thought I might have found my nail place in Midland. Oh I believe I was wrong! Came in with my mother-in-law for pedicures and gel manicures. I had powder on my nails from a salon in Arizona and was told they would need to soak in nail polish remover in order to be removed (similar to taking off gel). I asked if they worked with the powder and they said they did. The pedicure went fine then came the manicure. Again, once I sat down I asked if he would soak the nails but he said no and began lifting the powder from the nail bed. Since it's powder it isn't flexible like the gel and doesn't peel off but had to be pried off. He started taking them off and literally peeling the top layer of my nails off. The ends of my nails were ragged and needed to be cut pretty short to accommodate the raggedness. So he finished the right hand but I asked a couple more times if he'd soak the nails so I could keep the top layer of nail but he said that wouldn't work. Then he started on the left hand and he went to peel the little finger and ripped the nail past the quick and it started bleeding. I pulled my hand back in pain and he asked "does that hurt?" Um, yes and stop pulling them off and soak them instead. He first put cotton soaked in remover on the remaining nails but that didn't seem to work so he had me soak my nails in polish remover. After several minutes the powder began to "melt" and he could finally scrape the remaining powder off. Meanwhile he stopped the bleeding and began gingerly taking the powder off that nail. He then proceeded to finish the manicure, which I'd have to say is the worst manicure I've had in a long time. Once the manicure was done I asked to speak to the manager but they said she wasn't there. I asked who made decisions in her absence but they all (3 employees) just looked at each other. I then stated I either wanted a refund for the manicure or a certificate for a free gel manicure. The guy who did my manicure asked what was wrong...are you kidding me!? Blood drawn during a manicure isn't typical and that's why I insisted! He said he'd call the manager later but I told them I wasn't leaving without one or the other of those things happening. They started to make excuses but I cut them off and insisted again. Finally he gave me a card, with his signature on it, for a free gel manicure. I thanked him and left. I will use the free card but honestly I'm on the look out for a new nail place. The photos were taken an hour after the manicure, not happy! read more

Came here once pre-COVID but when I visited again a week ago I found that the management has already changed. No problem, though! They have masks for sale and hand sanitizer when you enter, the nail booths have glass in order to prevent contact with the nail tech and they check your temperature when you arrive. I've been going to Nail Gallery for over a year now and after trying several other nail salons in the Midland area, this is by far the best I've found. They do great work; just make sure they know exactly what you want before they start because there could be a communication barrier if you are not clear up front. Luckily I'm used to dealing with different nails techs and have never had this issue here but after other bad reviews that I've read, I can see where that could be a problem. We had a terrible experience here. Went in to get our nails done, when I asked the cost for what I wanted it was $25 for shellac no mani, and $30 for mani with shellac. Terrible pricing - online said it was $15.00. My friend asked for a double base coat and the lady responded "no" and kept going. Some of the associates work very slow and they aren't super friendly. They were also complaining about our 4 year old (who was behaving perfectly fine) that she wasn't holding still and asking questions. They had other customers walk in that had previous appointments and they had to wait because all the seats were full of walk-ins. I always go to nail gallery for my brow wax. she (the owner) does the best job (much better than the fancy salons in Midland) and takes her time. My brows are always even and have a nice arch, but never too thin. I have never had a bad brow wax there and i've been gong there regularly for two years.
