Worst pedicure for the money I've ever had. When I called to make the appointment, I was very clear that I wanted dry skin removed and good leg massage. Upon arrival the nail tech informed me he didn't have time to do massage and he barely removed any of the rough skin on my feet. I was old if I wanted to have massage to go to a massage therapist. I've been going to Nail Experts for 5 years and I won't be going back. I went in for a pedicure and a full set. The pedicure was so mediocre...no scrub, no massage, and he didn't remove any dead skin from my feet or toes. The acrylic they did was a whole other nightmare...I asked for ombré and the nail tech tried so hard to convince me to get something else because ombré was "time consuming and expensive", instead of saying he didn't know how to do it. So I picked a light pink polish instead...by the time he was done, I had the most uneven, crooked, poorly shaped acrylic nails I have ever seen in my life. They were completely flat, no round natural nail shape, they were all facing different directions, and the polish was so sloppy. It seems they just don't care about quality of service anymore. I paid $50 for my manicure pedicure only for the color to bubble after they dried. My technician reportedly had been working there for thirty years but that was difficult to believe because it seems the polish bubbled because he didn't let the coats dry. I went in a couple of days later to complain. I requested a gift card, they said they couldn't do that but instead he would redo them. Well the same exact thing happened. $50 down the drain. There is a reason why this salon wins Best of Santa every year. Besides great mani-pedi's, this is one of the best run businesses in town. Just re-opened and re-fitted for safety, my temperature was taken at the door. I was then given hand sanitizer and shown to a booth. I was immediately offered a sign-in sheet which included a disclaimer, date and time of my visit, contact information, and signature. (They COULD absolutely contract trace should the need occur) The A/C system is off and there is fresh air. Masks are required. No exceptions. These are smart people. The entire shop has been refitted with hanging partitions, even between me and the technician. Sanitizer is everywhere, and someone is constantly wiping and disinfecting. I felt completely safe. If you fingers and toes need attention don't be afraid. Mine are very happy. So am I. read more

I visited this salon last November and had a manicure and a pedicure. The pedicure was good but the manicure I later noticed had bubbling, the polish did not cover the whole nail, and the top coat was thick. The bubbling got to me the most, I've never seen polish do that before and it looked bad. It was not worth the money I paid, if I wanted a subpar manicure I could have painted my own nails. read more

The State of NM Board of Cosmetologists has played a commercial about Nail salons, so I was hyper vigilant with this salon. The items they used such as the Emory board, nail buffer and the scrubber for your heels was not single use and the tools did not come out of the package after being in the autoclave. This place gets one star because I can't go lower. Pedicure pits did not ask which pedicure I wanted, but gave me the basic. The polish was so thick it wouldn't dry and had to be redone. Then she started my nails and left me soaking in a chemical remover while she started a pedicure. Well, I was told by the older man that he didn't know how to do what I was asking of him, so I made a graceful exit and went next door to the Vogue School of Cosmetology. In the past, I have received good pedicures here. This last time that I went, however, the service was deplorable. The woman who performed my pedicure kept repeating that she would give me a "special" treatment. She never mentioned that her "special" treatment would cost me $40 instead of the normal $25 charge, and nothing she did was special whatsoever. She cut one of my big toenails too short and left the other one too long. (It's a good thing that sandal weather is over now because my big toes look stupid!) She did absolutely nothing extra in the way of scrubbing my feet or massaging them. It was a basic, slipshod pedicure. The only thing "special" about it was the exaggerated price that she sprung on me when she was done. By the way, nowhere on the posted list of services is a $40 pedicure printed. Not only did I feel ripped off by this woman, but the method of payment that she required made me even more uncomfortable. She told me that I could not use my credit card and told me that I had to pay with cash or check. I found this request disturbing to say the least because I observed the owner going through the credit card receipts that he had taken for the day. I knew that she was lying to me. When I went to write my check out, she told me that I had to make the check out to an individual, not to the business. I found this demand to be very disturbing. Nothing like this had ever happened to me in the past when I visited this salon, and I felt very suspicious about the whole process. Because of the way that I was treated (read: ripped off), I will NEVER go back to this place again. I was tricked and I received a lousy pedicure. First visit there was awesome. Second time - disappointing! I finally found the color I've been wanting for a while now, but I'm super disappointed with the results. Couldn't quite see with the Covid Vaccination sticker on the plexiglass glass but when Ben was done with my nails, it looked like a kid painted them. Not wanting to be a Karen - I paid and left. This Nail salon consistently wins the Santa Fe Reporter's "Best of Santa Fe" award, and I can easily see why. I'll start with the bottom line: prices. Nail Experts keeps the costs for services down, (IMHO) so that a lady of moderate means can afford to continue to have her hands well cared-for! I was laughing pretty hard when I read "extremely high price" in another review for this shop somewhere, because in some parts of the world, one can expect to pay triple-digits for a few of the services offered here. I'll confess from the get-go: I got my very first set of acrylics at Nail Experts, so I may forever be biased towards this charming little joint. And I have a soft spot in my heart for the tromp-l'ceil birds and flowers nestled into the Asian landscape on the interior walls of Nail Experts when I got my first REAL (fake) nails...soft, nondescript music wafting overhead as I had an amazing manicure. Yes, the salon is located in a 'strip mall', with a Soup-r-Salad at one end and an ACE hardware at the other. Yes, if you don't speak Vietnamese, you'll have to get used to the idea that the people scrubbing your feet could be talking about your nasty toes in a language you probably don't understand. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. When I walked out of that place with my first new SET...a full gel manicure...the lustre of each perfect, titanium-strength fingernail was such a glory. I will have to say that the technician I had doing the nails (Ben) seemed meticulous, selecting each nail-extension and consulting with me as to my preferred nail-length and shape before measuring the fingers of my hands - each against the other - for symmetry. I usually brought my own polish, but they have a huge selection of colors and brands, including O.P.I. and Essie, which I gravitate toward. Yes again: "Everyone" has their own toolbox, I discovered the first time I had a pedicure...probably about 2-3 weeks later, when it was touch-up time for the nails ~ *heehee! Whenever I was having my nails done, I noticed that everyone was greeted right away when they entered - whether or not they had an appointment and no matter the size of their party. "Hello, can I help you..!" I've had many, many appointments there...varying lengths of time. Ben or Emee have also generously offered to fix a single nail for me in an 'Emergency' - as I found out, whining about breaking a nail is no joke, when you have fake nails - it HURTS. "Can you come over now...no, half an hour?" Why yes, I can. AWESOME!! So, I would highly recommend this place for sculpted, gel manicures, any kind of acrylic nails, or what-have-you. I've witnessed all kinds people in there having a blast - girlies going to prom, fiancees, anniversary -people. MEN TOO! Yes. Men gettin' their feets groomed and liking it. Smiling. Pedicures are always relaxing, but I'll have to say that I have only had "regular" pedicures here, and they were satisfactory - some people get gels or acrylics on their toes, as well, but I haven't had that done. I've since grown out my (natural) nails, and if I happen to see Mr. Ben out and about I feel guilty for not stopping in to have something done. (And he's all, "..you need to come see us!" ) And then I remember the superior feeling of amazing FULL-ON PERFECT new nails...hey, summer's coming, maybe I will..!! read more

Every time I've been here I get a terrible quality job, always has globs and bubbles and mistakes and it costs way more than the other places! Also they just paint your nails and put a glob of lotion on. you get to dunk your feet in the water for like a minute , but they don't exfoliate your feet, massage, nothing.
