On the day I got my basic manicure I was between 2 costumers and nail tech. filing/drilling down gel or acrylic. The fine particles were flying over onto my phone, body, coffee and my nails. I questioned why they did not have proper ventilation as the technicians wore masks to protect themselves but did not offer any ventilation, vacuum or fan to trap such fine partials from effecting the client/customer. I have always sat on the other side of the salon where they normally do just basic manicures so I haven't experienced that before. Very unsanitary and unhealthy to breathe in those toxic particles. How can you expect a good nail polish job when partials are everywhere. The owner blames the client for nails chipping or marks in the nail polish but takes zero accountability for her unsanitary unhealthy work environment. Nor allows you the opportunity to properly talk about what you're not happy about. She takes zero accountability that her nail polish or application process from a technician could possibly cause an issue. Example: expired polish, not allowing the layers to dry in between (rushed job), applying thick uneven layers, nail base not cleaned well (foreign particles on base). Never once over the years was told to wash my hands before nail polish application. Every entry level nail tech knows this, one of the first things you learn in nail tech school! They took payment first though! Any experienced professional and Salon owner should very well know this without having to blame her customers. I don't blame your technicians because they have to follow your command. You allow them to cut corners! Makes me rethink what else you're cutting corners on??? At your customers expense. I'm a very observant person.... Not one of your customers are instructed to go wash and scrub their nails before polish is applied! Your customers natural oils can affect the polish application too, therefore soap and a scrub is necessary before applying polish. The day I called to make the appointment I asked for one of my "regular" nail techs, they were unavailable so she made the appointment with a new Tech. When I asked for the "new" techs name, she said , "why does it matter you're not gonna know who she is anyway?" Such an unprofessional response from an owner! As someone who worked in a salon for many years, you are the face of this salon your employees depend on you to build their clients. How do you expect your other nail technicians build a clientele and a rapport with customers if you're not willing to give them their name. Have patience as well if the customer on the phone is having a hard time understanding you or if you're too busy to talk, hire a receptionist. First impressions are everything. Yet I overlooked your poor manners and some of the salons work ethics over and over again. Muang, you're such a poor business woman on so many levels, are out for self and for your right hand girls only! I question how you're still in business? You also knew the tech who worked on me was fairly new and it could have been possible her application process was wrong yet you chose to challenge me and not give me the proper respect and proper communication I deserve as a paying loyal customer. So I'll say it all here for others to read, see, stay away & not ever experience this! You picked the wrong experienced but retired licensed nail professional to be obnoxiously rude to. I pass your salon daily, it was convenient for me. I ignored a lot until now and I can't allow others to experience this. If you read all the 1 star reviews they really should have a zero star review, your behavior is reported repetitively the same when a minor issue arises. Again coming from someone who has worked in many salons over the many years knows firsthand how important it is to make good for minor things to make customers happy and coming back. I also know that you should never be defensive and blame the customer and have the customer make such complaint in front of everybody. A good business woman pulls you to the side, listens then responds with a solution. Not get rude, defensive, refuse treatment after you were told to come back and allow others, your so called "long time loyal customers" the ones you say hi too and definitely give special treatment too, the ones you save your so called nice side for, to chime in. Those are the customers you ask to write a 5 star review to cover up your zero star service!! You are only out for yourself you could care less about your other technicians. It shows deeply.... If you are reading this, please go to another Salon. Pay the extra five dollars it's not worth going to Nail Box AT ALL! read more

I've been a loyal customer of Nail Box for over five years, and I can honestly say it's more than just a salon; it's a place where you feel genuinely cared for. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm smiles. The salon is impeccably clean, and it's clear that they maintain the highest standards of hygiene, The technicians here are incredibly skilled and attentive. They take their time to understand exactly what you want and offer helpful suggestions (which sometimes I like because I'm indecisive ) to ensure you leave with the perfect nails or toes! What sets them apart is their attention to detail and the pride they take in their work. They use high-quality products, and my nails always look fantastic and last a long time. Beyond the beautiful results, it's the personal connection that keeps me coming back. The Owner Mung, is truly the most sweetest and caring woman! They remember my preferences, ask about my life, and make me feel like a valued friend rather than just another customer. Over the years, I've come to know many of the staff, and have watched some of them start families of their own! They've acknowledged my families milestones with me, offered support during tough times, and always provided a listening ear. Nail Box is a true gem in our community, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for exceptional service, and a place where you're treated with kindness and respect. Thank you, Mung, and all of your amazing staff or consistently exceeding myself and all my daughter's expectations and for creating such a wonderful space. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! the absolute best nail salon I have ever been to! I've been a client of Mung's for years. I am very picky about the shape of my nails and she is the only one (along with Rita) who can get it right! I have never left upset, and she always goes above and beyond to make sure I'm happy. Since being her customer I have moved over 40 minutes away from the salon, but I still travel every two weeks to get my nails done! read more

I've been coming here since they opened. Always speedy, always great service and always the best price around. It gets a little busy and crowded sometimes but I love to see how much they've grown as a small business. read more

Literally the worst dip powder manicure I have ever received. The technician doing my nails seemed frazzled and wasn't sure how to evenly distribute the powder - literally needing to stand up out of her seat and sprinkle the powder on parts of the nail she missed. Ultimately I was left with a super thick looking set of nails that were nothing close to being presentable. Even with efforts of the other technicians, there was no salvaging the unevenly distributed powder that had hardened at that point. I mentioned if this was the was the thickness they'd be I did not want to keep them on- literally mid way through her process. Will not be coming back. I didn't have time to spend to let them soak to take off. Will need to head to another salon to do this and have a decent manicure. So disappointing! The owner didn't ask for payment - at least they recognized they were that terrible. read more

I've never heard such an excuse for a BAD manicure!! The polish was peeling off a day after I had it done! Here is what the owner told me when I showed her my peeling polish... "there is no guarantee when you have a regular manicure" so let me understand that... only when you puts a ton of chemicals on your nails she can guaranty it?? I don't think so!! I had plenty of manicures in my life time and never had any issues! when I pushed back she decided not to have it fixed and then she refused to give me my money back! I just left with the peeling polish and no refund. I usually don't write reviews especially not a negative one but this was too much to ignore! read more

The owner is incredibly rude and unprofessional. Prices are not displayed and keep changing by the week. Invoice is not provided, but don't bother asking for more information. One can get better service for less nearby. read more

Spa pedicure and gel manicure. The spa pedicure was amazing. My feet were so soft after. Make an appointment, place gets busy, even at 9am

I hate to even say it but I had the worst experience here. My nails were rushed and sloppy. The tech barely filed them and they were a mess and I kept asking for the tech for fix them but they still turned out terrible. My nails were bumpy and uneven, the paint was applied sloppy, and the top coat was applied sloppy as well. Really disappointed read more

I never had a gel manicure that chipped, and nails split two days after. I really wanted it to work, I liked the tech, and she gave an amazing pedicure. I gave it THREE try's, and all three times my nails cracked, split and were paper thin. I am CONVINCED the gel nail polish is WATERED DOWN. read more

Ok, so this place is not clean. When the woman put down a paper towel, it was dirty. She took her tools out of a dirty basket and did not wipe them before use. While removing my cuticles, she caused my fingers to profusely bleed. On top of everything, the nail color I chose was not the one I received(I wanted 68). But at that point, I just wanted to get out of there. The staff was nice but very unorganized. They did not seem to realize I had an appointment, even though I made one that morning. The prices are slightly cheaper than their local competitors, but so is the experience. Would not go back. read more

I tried to like the salon but my nails, no matter how many times I went there and how many different products I tried my nails would always chip. It wasn't only me others had the same experience. Maybe their product isn't friendly with certain nail types? We all have different DNA? I don't know I'm trying to be nice I would rather pay five dollars more somewhere else and not have to go back to have them fixed and have them last me a little longer. It's time consuming to get your nails done. They are very pleasant but they just don't stay. read more

My first gel manicure here lasted less than a week and left my nails in terrible condition. I did not go back to tell them , so I decided to try again and this time, both my and my daughter's nails cracked and the polish lasted less than five days. This time I returned to show them. Instead of being apologetic with an offer to redo them, I was told they don't guarantee how long it will last and I must have done something to make this happen. The whole advantage of paying more for a gel manicure is that it should last two weeks not a few days. To even say this, shows a lack of knowledge and certainly terrible customer service! read more

Great spot..., the pedicure massage was great. I will definitely come again. Nice, clean and quiet nail salon. I appreciate the calmness in the nail salon. Update: my gel nail manicure did not last a full week before it started chipping... read more

Still the best place in town! Mung, the owner, is so nice and always greets me with a smile! And Lucy, I would not trade her for the world. LOVE LOVE LOVe THIS PLACE! I only got a regular manicure but I think this is my new go to spot! It was busy and seemed to be one of those hole in the wall nail salons for affordable designs on your nails, everyone was getting a jewel or a design! I love it! My nail tech was so nice and sweet and did exactly what I asked. I think if you go here you should make an appointment and not just walk in because they are a very busy place but if you're looking for a new nail salon, this place is it! It's awesome! I will be traveling about 20 mins just come here! read more

Only giving 4 stars as I've only been there once but I have my next appointment this week so will update. I had a great experience my first time. When I called they were super nice and friendly, then when I came in my technician met me at the door and took my temperature. The place was very clean and following covid protocols. Anne was very nice and extremely detailed. I got a gel manicure and they last 16 days before my first chip and it's not even a bad chip. Highly recommend and I'm excited to go back! read more

Love this nail salon. The best French manicure & pedicure. Mung & Rita are excellent!

I don't usually get my nails done but when I do, I come here. I've tried other places closer to home but the 15 min drive is worth it to me. Very friendly staff. Awesome massage with their spa pedicures. This time I got a regular manicure for my baby reveal dinner and a lavender spa pedi. Very relaxing pedi. For the manicure I wanted something quick and simple. Did a regular manicure. Love it. read more

I am so happy I finally found a nail place I can trust! I have been coming here for about a year now as I discovered the place simply driving through Englishtown. It's a quaint little shop next to a Mexican restaurant. There is a parking lot that you can park in. She will take walk-ins or an appointment. Mung is the owner and is seriously so sweet! She does such wonderful work! Every time I go I need to make sure it is with her as she pays very close attention to the way she is doing your nails. She literally makes sure they are perfect and asks you if you like them. The prices are absolutely fantastic and I cannot compare them to any other salon I have been to. I am so happy I am a customer here. They really treat you very well and even remember you by name! So impressed! Just keep in mind if you are coming in as a walk-in they get extremely busy! read more

I am ELATED, to have finally have found an amazing nail salon. The prices are much cheaper than the other places, but it equaled "BETTER QUALITY." Regardless of who does your Mani or Pedi, you feel pampered and BEST of all, they never rush! Lastly, I love keeping up on the latest nail techniques and Mung delivered. She has Chrome, Cats Eyes, Mood polish and does beautiful nail art. So if you're looking for actual conversation, beautiful nails or tootsies, call the Nail Box, because you won't be disappointed! read more

They do not know how to remove powder dip polish. They damaged 5 of my nails. I am so disappointed!!

While I give them two stars for requiring masks and at least being nice, I was disappointed with how my nails turned out. I paid $50 for my gel mani and pedi, and while my toes look okay, my gel nails were uneven at the cuticles ( literally looked like my nails had grown out a week) and chipped after two days! I got them done for vacation so I couldn't go back to get them redone. I also found the entire salon was not sanitary. While they did use new nail files and buffers, they did not use new cuticle clippers and only swabbed the tops quickly with alcohol (which is super dangerous but I was already mis manicure at this point) . The table was dirty and full with nail polish and residue of cream as well as the uv lamps. I also asked the girl doing my nails to file my nails even as one had broke (when she asked if I wanted filed or cut) and they are all uneven, some oval, some longer , some square and some shorter. Overall, I would not recommend nor will I be going back. And just for more info, I got 4 layers on my nails with gel all cured so I assume this is happening because the polish was dated. And these were taken day 6 of my manicure: read more

Awful service a few days ago! The manager told me how much I should tip her staff and also said her staff depend on tip for their pay! That is awful! First of all, you should never tell your clients how much they should tip someone! Secondly, she was very rude to me and had the audacity to tell me that when clients do not tip what they want, they don't like the clients! Never going back there!! read more

Horrible place. Worst nail place I've ever been to. I would give them a negative review if I could. I had a 3 o'clock appointment and the continued to make my mother and I wait. Once we addressed the owner about the situation, she told us to leave without finishing the services and still made us pay. Very unprofessional business owner, laughing in customers faces.
