Well, after the battery was installed I was getting an error message, NOT a check engine light (new cars and their computers - ugh!). So, I searched all night what this could mean. The new battery was causing the issue - it needed to be recalibrated with the car. I did troubleshoot a little on my own, following the steps I found on Honda forums etc. Nothing worked. I went back to the same Valvoline and Rasheed helped me. Sometimes being a woman who doesn't know much about machines and cars your talked to like an idiot. Rasheed was the exception. He was kind, he was polite & made me feel heard. He immediately checked the connections to make sure they were secured correctly etc. It was not the problem. He tried a few other things and shortly after the error message cleared! I so appreciated his professionalism, help, his kindness, his attention to detail and compassion when helping me resolve the issue. I would recommend this Valvoline and Rasheed 1000X!

I was behind like 3 cars and I was seen within 20 minutes! They even did some prep work before my car got in the garage. I can appreciate systematized work. Plus, if you look deep enough in your email or membership, you might even find a coupon or two. Anyway, I recommend this Valvoline for a quick oil change in a pinch.

Thank you Rasheed, Nelson, and crew, they are very quick and professional, and the "stay in your car" service was a big convenience, getting me in and out much faster than a traditional dealership. This Vavoline has been my go to for many years, and the service is always consistent, convenient. This location has calmed down on the heavy upsells which I give an additional star. As well as a I appreciate the free car wash. Nothing like having an excellent oil change, and sparkling clean car /SUV. The staff explained all the work they were doing and pointed out they were refilling windshield washer fluids, checking, and filling tire pressure, etc...., thankful for the excellent experience. Can not go wrong with choosing this location.

The experience worsened during the service when an employee initiated a highly inappropriate and uncomfortable conversation. He asked about my personal income, made insulting comments regarding birthmarks on my face by comparing them to pimples, and was dismissive during further small talk. The conduct of your current staff is unacceptable and a significant departure from the professional service I have experienced at this location in the past. I hope you will address these interpersonal and behavioral issues with the team.

That…read moresaid, I know that particular staff definitely can make a world of the difference so I'd like to commend Edder (not sure if Im spelling it correctly) for being consistently a pleasure to work with. He always is polite, knowledgable, and willing to patiently talk through my vehicle reports/diagnostics with me. He recently went out of his way to find a really economical alternator replacement for me (which isn't easy to find). I've also had other great interactions with the employees here, but I'll note that I usually drop off early in the morning or when I'm not in a rush (because they are often busy and there can be lines). Overall though, lines are a sign of regular customers which is a testament in itself. Also, Pep Boys has been easy and quick on replacing any parts under warranty that I've had issues with. I personally would recommend them.

I have always been a loyal customer to the Pep Boys located at 261 Mclean Blvd, Paterson, NJ 07504 . I have been taking my vehicle for years to this location for oil changes. I never had a bad experience until now. On Thursday 02/27/25 I went in a little after 5pm to get a normal oil change. I waited like usual and was actually very happy on that day. Then, the shift manager by the name of Kenny called me up to the register for some reason. I really thought it was because my car was ready, however that was not the case. He actually stated that something was wrong with my Audi A4. He took me where my car was located. He got inside my car and pointed out that my transmission light was on. I asked what was this all about? Due to the fact that my car did not have this problem before. He stated that he did not know the reason either. Due to this reason my car was not drivable. I had to leave my car at the shop until the next day. I had to call a towing truck so they can take my car to Jack Daniels Audi Paramus - Service. There they analyzed my car and gave me the reason why my car was in this condition. The Tech stated that the car was not drivable because it seems that someone at Pep boys drain out the transmission fluids form my car. Now, I don't know if this was a mistake on their part or was done purposely. I was really upset and called your corporate office and file a complaint. I also have the report from Audi that states this information. Now, Audi is charging me almost $900.00 for this mistake. I do not believe is fair that I have to pay for something that was not my fault. This has put me through hell. I also spoke to the general manager by the name of Frankie and he was very unprofessional. I will never go back to this location ever again. This is very sad that they have to put customers through so much stress. This is also time consuming for me due to the fact that I have a full time job and go to school after that. Unfortunately, if this is not resolved I will take it to a higher level. This was unjustified, and should not happen to anyone. I hope you can help me with this situation and can be resolved in an amicable manner.
