We are in Moriarity every year or so, but this was our first time visiting Nachos. The salsa had nice heat, but the chips were a little disappointing. The crispy ground beef taco was fantastic and the meat was well seasoned. The beans tasted very good and they had good flavor and seasonings. It was nice that they allowed us to order our plates Christmas style with both red and green sauce on the side. I liked a mix of both. My kids both raved about their order of stuffed churros.

Mm mm mm We stumbled upon this quaint Mexican restaurant on our cross country trip to California. The staff was very polite and knowledgeable. I ordered the Gordita plate and beef taco. Though simple, this was the best beef taco I've had in a restaurant, and the Gordita was great as well. And the Frijoes, magnificent. They are actually the best refried beans I've had anywhere. They were so seasoned. This was a great portion for us because we had been driving for hours and it filled us just enough. I highly recommend !

HER WE GO. I live I the land of the lost.... Or so it seems when I stumble across this little gem! Got a taco salad for $9. Shared with my son and we're TOO full for dinner! Hope mama doesn't find out! waitress was very attentive to our needs and we were very satisfied. And just as I was about to pay and leave they brought my baby boy son some sopapias.

One of my favorite places to eat. The food is always delicious! I always get the combo plate with carné. The carné is the best I have had!

We found this little place on Google maps as we traveled to Albuquerque. It was easy to find and, we walked in and were greeted and seated quickly. The iced tea was great; the salsa was green and spicy. Our order was taken and, the food was served quickly. We enjoyed our food; the waitress came over several times to check on us and see if we needed anything else. We will return! We did hear a patron ask for a fire extinguisher to help him put out the fire in his mouth. If the red sauce is that hot ... be mindful of the green sauce. The waitress said it was hottest.

So had a doctors appointment out in Edgewood earlier in the day. My best friend who happens to live up there we managed to hang out and make a day out of my trip. He told me about this place supposedly having great "Nachos". I had no idea that was literally the name of this joint! Located on the main road off 40 in Moriarty just past the Blackies Liquor store lies this little gem. As I stated before I had no clue of what this place had to offer other than Nachos. Let me tell you was it such a nice surprise to find out it's a Mexican restaurant! Let me tell you they did not disappoint! I went and ordered a Quesadilla, Nachos, and of course enchiladas plate and they brought it out within minutes! Both mine and my best friends bags were hefty. We hadn't expected the weight of the bags, nor did we expect such generous portions! The nachos can literally be a meal by itself! They loaded it with tasty nacho cheese, refried beans, onions, ground beef, jalapeños, lettuce, and onions. It was a beast! The Quesadilla had a nice thick layer of cheese even coming with some salsa verde! The enchiladas came with rice and retried beans. I savored every bite! Because I was unprepared for the generous portions I ended up having some left over to eat later! These guys reminded me of the Mexican restaurants in El Paso. I'll definitely be coming back the next time I'm out in Moriarty! I really hope Covid doesn't take this one because it's a real gem! They won me over on the first bite!

Great food, great service, and the price is more than fair. #4 and the flauta plate. I love this place!

This place is damm good! Totally not what I'd expect from New Mexico Mexican food. I had the chicken stuffed sopapilla and it was FUC'ing badass! And a pretty big plate. If you are ever in this part of the world. You have to stop here. Now this is a family run restaurant so be nice, respect, and patient. If I hear that any of you fuc's disrespected this place I will place a brujería curse on you so that Dr. Fauci haunts your dreams for all eternity.

    Best salsa ever!

I decided to stay with the Mexican food theme. I had a taco, an enchilada, and a chile relleno. Everything was good! I haven't had a good chile relleon in a long time, and this one was good. The sauce was good on the enchilada. Everything was good. I had a tickle in my throat, and the chile was a bit spicy and made me cough, but it was good. I enjoyed the food and the company. The restrooms were retro, very 90s, run down but clean, and if I was running from the Sinaloa Cartel...I could picture myself hiding in a place like this. Almost like a mix between the films Memento and Breaking Bad. But yes, Lisa's Grill. I had to stop in at this Southwestern Flare Diner! It's situated inside the truck stop, with a very 70s & 80s atomic age diners vibe like that one scene in the Kingsmen movie. Loved the ceiling, bold colored red, glossy, with silver...makes Johnny Rockets look artificial. So I had to try their top picks on the menu. The Red Rooster -- country fried steak with red hot sauce, and their hatch chilli burgers. The food was ok, Id probably rate a 3.5/5. Menu is heavily influenced by Spanish cuisine. If your looking for a quick breakfast along route 66 in Central New Mexico, this is a good spot to take a break. Overall service, environment food I'd give it a 4/5. Seems pretty popular amongst the locals, and place is pretty packed for a lunch run. Yea, definitely come check it out!

5 Stars - A Hidden Gem in Moriarty, NM…read more Chili Hills may not look like much from the outside, but don't let the unassuming exterior fool you--this place is fantastic! We stopped in for dinner based on the glowing Yelp reviews, and they were absolutely right. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth and friendliness. The vibe was laid-back and local, with just a few other diners--it is Moriarty, after all--but the service was top-notch. Hubby was thrilled to see they serve all-day breakfast, so he went for the pancakes, and I ordered the combo fajitas (chicken and steak). While waiting, they brought out chips and salsa. The salsa was a bit too spicy for me, but no problem--they happily brought ranch dressing instead. Win! The food portions? HUGE. My fajitas were sizzling perfection--tender meat, just the right amount of peppers and onions, and all the fixings: guac, lettuce, cheese, salsa, tomatoes, and soft flour tortillas. So good. Five big ol' flavor booms. Hubby gave the pancakes two thumbs up--and he's picky about his pancakes, so that's saying something. Two hearty meals, drinks (yay for Diet Dr. Pepper!), friendly service, and all for around $45. Totally worth it. We'd go out of our way to eat here again on our return trip. Highly recommend this spot if you're anywhere near I-40 and need a satisfying, no-frills, home-style meal.

Without food, but you could bring your own or order in. Nope, the brewery closes at 5:00 on a Saturday. We asked at our lodging about options, and Blackie's was on a list they gave us. Blackie's was classified on Yelp as only a liquor store, so it didn't show up on any searches. They do have a package liquor store on site as well. The front entry that is shared with the liquor store had bars on the doors. Inside, Blackie's had VFW/event hall vibes. There was not much to speak of in the way of decor. They did have food and you need to order from the Double C dining room server, which shares the space, and if you're sitting at the bar you'll have a separate tab. I was glad to see they had enchiladas with green or red chile sauce, and burgers with green or red chiles (1/2 pound or 1/3 pound). Prices were reasonable at $12-ish for a meal. The bar and neighboring large room featured pool tables and darts, and a 20-ish year old TouchTunes but there was no music playing. Sounds like after the dinner crowd leaves the music might get turned up. Our vantage point view was staring into an empty room with booths and wooden chairs, but eventually some people filed in there to play pool. There was no internet on our AT&T phones which led us to watch rodeo tv and talk to some of the customers. I drank vodka tonics and the Mr. had Coors Banquet. Our bar tab was cheap. Mr. R ordered the nachos, and they were pretty huge. I ordered enchiladas with green chile sauce and the presentation was quite nice and the beef tasted fresh. It was a good choice. People had to wait a bit at times for drinks, but overall this turned out to be a better stop than we expected!
