The corn with lilikoi butter and garlic was really good. I had their corn at May 2012 Eat the Street.

It must be from their fryer or something. Nevertheless it was light, fluffy, fresh, warm to my tummy. We also got the hazelnut cake. Cake texture with coconut like flavor (I maybe wrong) with chocolate like hazelnut flavor coating. Also light and good. I saw ice cream too. Gotta try that next time. However, there are many alternative malasada purveyors throughout Honolulu, so I depended on local vloggers to find the best ones. This one popped up often on YouTube, and as luck would have it, we were dining at The Pig & The Lady on the next block. How calorifically convenient. We took the opportunity to stop by for a pre-dinner snack since they closed at 6PM. It's a cute shop with multiple sweets including quite a selection of housemade ice cream and delectable mouthfuls called Cake Bombs (Photo 10). We decided we would be good and ordered one unfilled Malasada each. Dusted with various sugar flavors, they were just $2.65 a piece. I went for the Coffee, while Jamie chose the daily special, Cinnamon (Photo 6). They were soft and tasty, quite comparable to Leonard's albeit a tad smaller. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing since we had dinner ahead of us. However, we let temptation get the best of us and shared a $5.50 slice of the Ube Haupia Mac Nut Bar, a yummy combination of sweet potato and ube topped with haupia (coconut milk pudding) on a macadamia nut crust (Photo 9). Truth be told, it stole the show from the malasadas. FOOD - 4 stars... the malasadas were good, but that ube dessert was next level AMBIANCE - 4 stars...really a takeout operation with a lot of temptations SERVICE - 4 stars...very calm and orderly TOTAL - 4 stars...yet another spot for sweet Hawaiian decadence RELATED - Exploring Hawaii? There was one employee working at the register and another in the back. The service was attentive and efficient although there was only one person on the floor. They carry a great assortment of mochi and manju, including some varieties that need to be refrigerated. In addition, they offer local favorites like li-hing gummy bears and assorted flavored sembei, giving you plenty of sweet and savory options to choose from. The employee at the register was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, happily sharing information about the different mochi flavors and offerings. Most importantly, the mochi here is absolutely delicious. During this visit, we ordered a Girls' Day pack and tried the chocolate ganache Oreo flavor which was amazing. The mochi was perfectly soft and paired beautifully with the rich chocolate ganache filling. My friend loved it so much that she went back the very next day to order more! If you love mochi, you really need to stop by. I highly recommended this shop.

I received 2 strawberry and 2 tangerine mochi. I figured that I would eat 2 today and 2 tomorrow. Didn't happen. It was so good that ate all 4 in one evening. The tangerine was surprising. There is a whole tangerine in the mochi and it was sweet, juicy and sweet. Never had anything like this. The strawberry mochi was also a must buy. I liked that they didn't put too much an in it, so balanced with the sweet strawberry nicely. I must buy more soon and try other flavors.

There's a few tables inside and more seating outside. I got the calzone with pepperoni and the blackened ahi Caesar salad. The calzones here are definitely a must! I love the different cheeses they use as they complement each other really well. The calzone was crispy and not super doughy which I liked. I would probably pass on the Caesar salad next time though. The dressing was watery and the fish was dry. The service here was exceptional. My friend brought her dog, and the workers brought out a water bowl and kept checking up on us. Overall, pretty decent spot for dinner and the ambiance is nice. I would come back just for their calzone.

We dined on a Friday night, so many of the other restaurants were busy and loud. This was exactly what we were looking for after a busy work week. The food quality is very good. Our food was tasty, timely, and hot. Our server correctly recommended the vodka sauce chicken pasta and the grandma pizza, which were both amazing. Although the pizza was a bit pricey, $31, it can easily feed a family due to its large size. For the pasta, the noodles were cooked to a perfect Al dente and the sauce was out of this world. The grandma pizza, similar to Boston's spinach and garlic pizza, was AMAZING! Easily tops Boston's version because of the Alfredo sauce that they use as the base. The service was impeccable, efficient, and friendly. The staff were very polite and attentive throughout our visit. If you're looking for a better alternative for exceptional Italian cuisine in Hawaii Kai, Repetti's is your place. Removed from the hustle and bustle, and always welcoming and good.
