This is a huge Unique location with a large clothing section, home goods section, and some furniture and shoes/jewelry. I liked this location because it was really large and had a good sized parking lot. The lot was pretty busy but I was able to get a spot, otherwise I'm not sure what street parking was like. This location was very organized compared to other Unique's that I've been to that have clothes and items on the floor under the racks. The home goods section was nicely organized by color which I appreciated. However, I did notice that many of the plates and home decor were priced pretty high like $15.99 for a handmade ceramic plate. However, like other Unique locations, there were three colored tags on sale so that brought some of the higher prices down. They also had many toy aisles that I was pleasantly surprised to see because it was a wide selection and everything looked to be in decent condition. The clothing selection was very big as well, compared to two other locations I've visited, which was great because I was looking for some summer clothes. As usual, the clothing was organized by size which makes shopping so much easier. The brands were also great, with Anne Taylor, Loft, Target, H&M, just to name a few. I'm a sucker for a thrift store with rows and rows of everything you could dream of, WITH a parking lot. This was my first MyUnique visit to any location. I've heard good things about the Union one, but this one wasn't very impressive. Anything that caught my eye was over priced, the home sections (dishware, picture frames, etc) was nothing special and there weren't many bags that caught my eye. I've been to similar thrift shops before, but never a MyUnique. I go for the dishes and homewares, kind of like a treasure hunt to see if there's any good finds and sets of vintage dish ware. At similar stores, I usually find abundant options. Unfortunately, there was very, very little selection. There were nearly no sets of plates. Everything was being sold as just one piece. I just love coming to the store for all the wonderful things I have found so far but you have to look real careful. I mean sometimes the items in HomeGoods are broken or chipped and they don't put them at a discount a lot and they still sell them or they're missing pieces And the clothes aren't always put back in the size that they're supposed to be in either but overall, the staff is great and when you find the peace that you fall in love with it's everything God help me when I go up there I spend sometimes over $200 in one shot and then I'll go up there a few days later and do it all over again. We've been really enjoying coming here over the past couple of years. Finding things is a hit or miss, but we still get to fairly consistently find some good things. Prices are fair - sometimes you get super good deals and sometimes they overprice things. Would recommend checking out at least once so you can see for yourself if you like it or not! I wanted to file a complaint about one of your store managers, the woman from Honduras with the dyed blonde hair. She behaved very offensively towards me and my family, and also towards one of your other employees. She made us feel discriminated against and humiliated us in front of other customers and the entire store. She didn't even let us speak and treated us very badly. We are frequent customers of the store, and now my family and I don't feel comfortable going there anymore because she offended us. We would like to be able to complain to someone and not have to escalate this further and talk about it on social media. No signage of the store, nothing to indicate donation drop off. My wife spent 5 minutes getting a non-response from the female employee as to the exact location of the drop-off. Parked next to 2 loading zones and had to interrupt a man (luckily an employee) hiding behind a box truck and pull down gate. Local watering hole, resellers should stay away and leave this place for the local community. This spot is such a hit or miss. On any given day they have colored tags that are 0% off, 25% off, 50% off or 75% off. When i went on a Saturday morning and the tag colors had changed the night before, i saw staff members actively remove the 75% off items. Bummer. I just had the worse experience at Myunique in Union city NJ. January 21, 2023. Due to this I won't return here. I was profiled due to the color of my skin by the clerk checking receipt at the door. It is a awful feeling and this treatment is unacceptable. I pray no one will ever feel this, I'm so upset my hands were shaking. As I was scanning my purchases at the machine the clerk by the door told the women watching everyone to watch me place my items in the bag. So the women got closer as I continue to scan my items. I ask the women what she said to her and she said "oh nothing". So as she watched me the old man next to me need help because he needed a bag. They no longer have the large store red bags so you have to buy the ones at the front near the counter. Knowing this I bring my own bags so I don't have to keep wasting money. I even have my name on all my bags just so they will see I didn't take their bags. When I completed my payment I went over to the clerk by the door and gave her my two receipts (like always. I ring up shoes separately)and she ask did I have anything I showed her my two bags and she then starts to say in Spanish she needs to check my bags. So I asked why and the girl by me said she needed to count what was in my bags. Which is a load of crap since I've shopped in this myunique for the last 2 1/2 years almost 2-3 times a week and they have NEVER opened my bags. Why would they when there are workers standing right over you when you scan your purchases. I place my bags on the table and she takes each one out counting (after she did this to the women next to me)and unraveling each one. As she is counting out my items there are people (lighter than myself) walking by with their items and she hasn't checked their receipts or items in the bag the man had. Very suspicious. I had been shopping in the store all day, I saw security and workers throughout and no one stop me or asked if I were stealing anything. When she finished counting out my purchases she goes and shoved the items into the bags and let's the next person go by. That's when I asked for a manager really loudly because I was humiliated. I don't need to steal from anyone I have money and I don't have a problem with thief. I do believe I was targeted by the clerk due to my skin color since the only other person items she check was the women next to me and she didn't count out her items. She did that for show. I will NOT spend my money in any establishment where the workers think it's ok to use their position and bias against others. It is horrible how management accepts this since they did not help when I call for them. The clothing prices here absurdly expensive for a "thrift store." You're better off going to Target or department store and getting clothes for the same price that are brand new. Your best bet is to wait until there's a 50% off coupon to make it worth it. Sometimes you do get lucky and find an item that should definitely be priced higher but for the most part their prices should be at least half of what are on the tags. I shouldn't be saying $40 on a price tag for a windbreaker at a thrift store. If you like books they have a lot of books and they're priced well. $0.99 to $4 ish. knick knacks and housewares are a hit or miss but I have found some really good vintage Pyrex for reasonable prices. I recommend bringing headphones as people love to bring their children here to play with the toys and it gets very loud I also sometimes go an hour or two before closing and it's usually empty they also have self-checkout which is nice. read more

Great Deals for Holidays. Great products. The only problem this store seems to have is that it has predominantly aggressive Spanish speaking customer base that doesn't take too kindly to outsiders of different cultures and races shopping in the store. I've been cursed out and called names in Spanish so many times for shopping here it's really something you have to accept if you want get that great deal. The High school crowd that comes in around 3:30 - 4:30pm is somewhat rude to older customers but security steps up when there is a problem.Don't bother complaining to management they have enough to deal with. Walked out of here with three brand name, looked like never worn, blazers for work totaling a shocking $27! Although I had those amazing fines they don't have quiet such a big selection as I'd hoped when I saw how big they store was. Wowsa! Yeah wowsa! So I started thrift shopping not too long ago, maybe a few years back & I always tell my friends about how awesome it is to buy the used goods. My friend & I were trying to kill time & she said "Let's go to a thrift store." I'm like umm okay, surprised but excited she was interested. We brought along our guy friend & his daughter too since we were all hangin out. I yelped the nearest thrift store open around 7PM & Unique popped up. We had to call for directions though since the address on the Geepus, (GPS) was leading us to the land of absolutely nowhere lol. Once we got in, through all the mighty stale attic smellin goodness there were thousands of thinfs in this store! Woooooooow. I had a huge smile in my face. My friend's little girl found alot of good toys, there were even children's biles for 10 bucks. Her dad spent 18 bucks on like 10 different toys. I honestly thought I was just gonna buy a small 5 dollar purse, but holy crap I found 4 winter coats that were like 12.99 each but were probably like 80 & above in yesteryears (80s, 90s whatevs) I felt very stylish, & my friend bought a few coats too! I also grabbed a really nice blazer & sweater thingy, & also a snowman bottle xmas decoration. I can't wait to go back again & go to the other Unique shops. They also have discount days! Alot of stores that are second hand don't sell as cheap as this spot, so I'm so glad I found it. It's like thrift heaven in a lil' ol' basement of a small plaza in Union City! I have been going here for a long time. And the people that work here are what keep me coming back. Unfortunately over the time I have been going here the prices have tripled compared to any other thrift store. Everything is priced for 50 percent off days. There are people that go in everyday and wait near the back where they do the sorting to take anything they can sell on ebay and management seems to not have one concern about what's going on. I love this place. But it's hugely disappointing to see how it's gone from an awesome thrift shop to a place that all of the deals and fun have been stripped away so the owner and general manager can make another dollar. I very rarely give bad reviews. But I just left this store very disappointed. I have been going to this store for years, and the customer service was always very good. Today, one employee yelled at after speaking to my daughter in Spanish and my daughter didn't understand and began speaking about my fairer loud enough for me to hear. I was dealing with my son, but when I turned in I heard what she was saying. I asked her if she speaking was about my daughter, and she replied that she was. I apologized in Spanish and told her that my daughter doesn't understand Spanish, she then told me that I should have told my daughter and that we were both rude. I told her that she had to have better customer service skills when working in retail. She then raised her voice and began to tell me that she's very educated and went to school in Cuba and has her degree in psychology and knows how to deal with people very well. I asked her to please lower her voice to which she responded her voice was low, and walked away. After this my son went to buy something from the toy machines up front, and it ate his money. We spoke to two different ladies and they were both very unhelpful. I asked to speak with a manger about how bad the customer service has gotten. And employee called over the loud speaker for her, she called her on the phone. The manager refused to speak with me, and asked that I waited in the front for her. I waited about 5mins. I asked the same employee for the manager's name, the employee paused and responded Marggie". I left and called the store and asked for a maggie, and there was no one there with that name. I had a very unpleasant time at this store. I was looking through the men's section and saw a very disgusting-looking bug hanging on a pair of sweats. The place is very nasty, a pair of shoes literally had some poop on it. A Literal poop stain. The store is also very overpriced, you can't find jeans for under ten dollars. Horrible service at this store DONT BOTHER ... the security guard who was a black man was very rude to the customers including me . He was trying argue and trying to be authoritarian with the customers . Started acting nasty and yelling at the customers . Unique is the best! It's my favorite thrift store (along with its sister store Value Village in Hawthorne) by far due to the vast selection and awesome prices. They have pretty much everything under the sun. Clothes for men, women and kids. Shoes, bags, jewelery. Towels, bed sheets. Tchotskes. Plates, silverware, cookware etc. Electronics. Lots of books. Small furniture items. Decorations. Toys & games. Other really random stuff that you'd be surprised to see a secondhand store selling. It's definitely a one stop shop for all your thrifting needs. Despite having such a variety of stock everything is nicely organized. I'll tell you why I visit this place so often: the prices are insane! Way better than Goodwill or Salvation Army. PLUS on Mondays and Thursdays everything is 25% off, making it DIRT cheap. Like literally dirt would be more expensive than a shirt at Unique on 25% off day. This is almost a bad thing because it takes a lot of willpower to pull back the reins and not buy more than you need. I've walked out with stuff I'd never use or wear just cuz it was like 3 bucks. Keep in mind there's NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES of any kind so make sure you like what you're buying. There's a couple of downfalls that are keeping me from giving 5 stars. My biggest gripe is you can only take 3 things into the fitting rooms at once, which is kind of annoying considering they only have two stalls. Because of this, the wait to try stuff on could be long depending on how busy it is. Also, their employees are not the friendliest and some are downright rude. Many of them speak zero English. Thankfully I speak a good amount of Spanish for a gringa, but I've seen others struggle with language barriers firsthand. Other than less than pleasant employees and long waits at the fitting room, Unique is a great place for all your used goods needs. If you're into thrifting, Unique is your place. Went there for the first time today and I absolutely love unique thrift. The racks were very organized by size order which was a major plus. I found me a camo jacket for $5 bucks and thee cutest brown bag for $7. Score! My girlfriend also found a Ralph L. Polo jacket for $10 as soon as we walked into the store. 3.5 stars This place is crazy! Not just the amounts of people who come here but by all the merchandise they sell. I wish it was more organized and not just men's section here or kids section there. They need to fully organize the each and every clothing item or toys. I know it must be crazy to even work there. I went there on a Saturday (Not even there special discount Sunday or Mondays) and I saw at least 20 employees all in that one section where is employees only and organizing a whole lot of stuff. I think its a hit or miss when you come here. You can find someone grand for the best price ever you can find a sh*tty thing that's worth less than what they offer. They sell some random stuff to like VHS tapes and has its own lamp section. There's old box tv's that I remember back in my day was the best thing going. They do have a lot of obsolete things but that's what's great about this place is that there is a chance you actually get something worthwhile. Vintage is starting to comeback so if you want you can sign up for their Unique card and get on their phone and email listing for when new merchandise arrives. I got an ugly sweater for $5 bucks. I wasn't even looking for something to buy. I think that's one of the ways to attack a place like this is to just go with the flow.
