You wouldn't know it was there if you hadn't heard about it. The clothes inside are very well curated. They don't sell things like Old Navy or Cat & Jack. All the clothes are mid range to high end with everything from Zara to Gucci. All the clothes are like new or slightly worn - no stains or signs of heavy wear. Prices are reasonable and they seem to filter through a lot of clothes. I came two weeks back to back (to make a return and drop off some shoes) and I saw mostly new items I hadn't seen previously. If you have kids and enjoy a thrift this is the place for you!

The greyish brunette woman, older in age, that I gave my donations to opened up the bins outside, dug through and picked out the worst items, including a clean pair of underwear to hold and shame up in my face in public like a dog and scolded me (my mistake, I missed some small items during sorting, but I don't think harassment is acceptable). The entire experience was humiliating and meant to humiliate. She rolled her eyes at valuables like designer shoes and large brass candelabras inside the bins. I had some heavier bins. Neighbors unrelated to this organization off the street helped me while this woman said "we don't do that here" (I grew up Christian, and these are not Christian values). She looked up and down at me and asked if I "even had children's clothes" and I said "I didn't think so." Whatever baby stuff was in there was high quality and unused. She locked eyes with me for a while scowling. She rolled her eyes later at the designer diaper bag with tag still affixed. I left crying. There are many other more reputable places in the area that are kind, more down to earth and cater towards middle-class clientele. I like the ones near Central Ave and the homeless shelter definitely needs goods. I recommend not going here and supporting this business. If you choose so, you put donations by their side door.

It definitely gets crowded in their so just be careful if you're visiting with a stroller! I'm always nervous to knock something off the shelves.

Their racks outside are more heavily discounted, but some of them have defects so double check everything! I appreciate that the store writes out what the defects are on the tag if they are aware of the defects - I appreciate how transparent they are. Worth a visit! They have some really funky gifts that I haven't seem in other places. I've been buying a ton of wedding related gifts for friends and I always seem to find the same things. At Hudson Paperie they have really unique gift items that I haven't seen before. They also offer monogrammed gifts and New Jersey themed gifts if you are looking for something that has a personal touch. When I got engaged my friend got me a wooden and marble monogrammed cheese board from HP and I love it. In fact, I loved it so much that I went out and got that same gift for another friend's engagement. While the gift shop portion of Hudson Paperie is fantastic, I'm knocking off a star because I was not too impressed with their wedding invitation service. The consultation does not feel super personal, they mainly just throw a ton of big books at you to look through on your own. Which is not a huge deal, but but not for the price. Invites here are incredibly expensive - more expensive than most other invite avenues that I've come across. So for that price, it would have been nice to go through different styles with a consultant instead of being left to sort through 100+ books on my own. But, if you are fine with that they do have tons of styles in their books to choose from. So the selection is great, I just was not too impressed with the service for the price.

The owner Chelsea and her sister Erin were both really helpful finding various items around the store and in addition gave us amazing suggestions for places to visit during on Honeymoon in Greece. The selection at the store is unique and carefully curated and it shows in both the quality and variety of items. If the bubbling staff personalities don't make this favorite shop right off the bat, then their cute jewerly and Hoboken gifts will take care of the rest.

Blue Skies Pottery has been on my radar for a while. I no longer live in Hoboken, but still really wanted to try my hand at their wheel course! For 2 hours, you get to done an apron, and learn from one of their very kind and patient instructors. We first made a bowl but mine somehow did not make it to the actual bowl stage. I was encouraged by the intructor saying that going too far is what pottery is all about. Why play it safe when you can just mush it back into a big ball and start over. So try 2 was for a vase! Sure it's short and swirly and imperfect but I personally love it and it now holds all of my make up brushes proudly. Their beginners course is $75 for a two hour lesson. You can choose to fire your piece or pieces for an additional $15 a piece. So really the wonky vase you think looks silly is actually a $90 ceramic masterpiece... You pick them up a month later and marvel at the fact that this was just a blob of clay 30 days prior. I'm now soooo excited to try one of the 6 week courses and get better and better, but really just mostly love the idea of working with my hands uninterrupted each week. Each class holds a maximum of 8 people (please don't be late). This was always something I wanted to do ever since I saw the film, Ghost. Sue makes it a point to know everyone's name from the start but she gave me a special one...mom, because I came with my 21 year old son. Lol. She kept the entire class laughing throughout by getting to know each of us personally. I really enjoyed the group we were with. I already knew that I wanted to make a bowl so I can display it in my home. I wound up with a little dish instead. On my 2nd attempt I was like okay, you got this, you can make a bowl. I must have put too much pressure on the clay while going too fast on the pedal. Sue shouts out...look at mom go, she made another good looking plate. I guess I can use it as a jewelry dish. The pieces need time to dry. Choose the colors you want on the wall and they will glaze it for you. You pick up the finished pieces in 4 weeks. Please check out their website for prices. This was an introduction session but they also have weekly classes. I thought it was so sweet of Sue to ask if I had fun. I replied...I sure did because YOU made it fun for all of us!!! I highly recommend this activity if you've never done it before. I found it very therapeutic. You will also have the softest skin ever after you wash the clay off your hands. I had a blast. This place is located in Hoboken, NJ, hometown of Frank Sinatra. It's full of tree lined streets, cafes, and amazing restaurants. So come make a day out of it.

Erica guided us through the whole evening where we all got to hang out in a very inviting setting and painted our various pottery items including mugs, plates, and more. It's a great place to have these group hangouts while all focusing on making something creative and fun. There is free parking in the lot behind the building where the Crop Shop is open which is very welcome in a place like Hoboken! Not to mention, Erica makes this such a great experience! I will say it was a bit hard to find at first because it is not currently located at the street level but I'm excited for the renovation and future events here!

I'll admit, I was nervous to leave NYC's shopping scene behind when I made the move to JC. I was considering living in Hoboken for a while, and Washington St has a ton of really great boutiques. Jersey City? Not so much. There are bars and restaurants as far as the eye can see, but when a gal needs some new clothes a new tapas joint popping up every week just aint gunna cut it. Tia's place is everything that it needs to be. Price points are very reasonable, think similar to Forever 21 or H&M. The clothing selection is stylish and trendy, and if I buy a shirt that goes out of style next season but I get a few good wears out of it I won't feel that bad. They are all stocked up for summer and there was a bountiful selection of maxi dresses and light and flowy chiffon tops when I was in the other day. Tons of cute costume jewelry and tote bags as well. I was hoping that they would have jean shorts but to my dismay there were none.
