Some are great while others I think are just their for a paycheck. The equipment looks really old, torn, and very used. They stack several old flat mats on top of each other to make it cushioned. The carpet is so filthy my daughter walks on it and the bottom of her feet turn black. They really need to update the equipment pads and clean the carpets. Nice people but no one ever calls you back when inquiring about one on one classes, I have inquired several times about this. Parking stinks.... there is no notice that you can't park in the lot next door so I parked their thinking it was okay. Well the owner next door chained and locked the exit. I went out at night to leave and I was chained in. Went inside Flips to ask for help and they were fully aware of this situation. The next door neighbor never answered the phone nor called back. The flip gymnastics staff didn't know how to help....even though they mentioned that this has happened before. I ended up having to hop over the curb, drive over plants, and I scrapped the bottom of my car while trying to get over the side curb that dropped down to a loading dock. Wasn't to happy but I got out.

(no such luck) I called for info, and the owner Suzi returned my call promptly and answered all my questions. She even offered a try-me class! The rates are great, the gym is spacious and has all the fun flippy-tumbly stuff, and best of all, my daughter LOVES coming to learn! The 5 & 6 yo class is taught by Coach John, and he makes learning the skill basics seem like fun games. You know what I love? How tired my daughter is after class LOL! Real talk, this gym has produced some of Reno's highest caliber gymnasts for decades, and whether they go on to compete, move to another sport, or are just recreational gymnasts, the sport imparts balance, strength and spatial awareness that all athletes benefit from.

We also had another friend put their daughter on the waitlist so we decided to do the same to ensure we could join in the same tumble bees class. After 1 month of being on the waitlist, we were offered a spot! We gladly accepted the offer and enrolled for the following week. The very first class was a trial class to see if it was a good fit for our daughter, which it was! Coach Grace is very supportive and patient with the little ones. She has such a calm presence and her voice is direct for the kids to pay attention. She ensures she spends time with the kids to make sure they understand their station and will teach them safe practices. The class is offers structure which helps develop listening skills for the little ones. The session we have is around the same time as another tumblebees class so it is pretty busy but the 2 classes are very organized so the kids aren't running into each other. At the end of the class you can see the coaches cleaning all the stations and even will give the kids hand sanitizer along with a coloring page, a sticker, and a stamp. Our daughter has been in the class for about 2 months and always looks forward to her class!

It has truly been a blessing to have her as Kennedy's coach. We've seen amazing progress in both confidence and skills. Coach Lauryn has the perfect coaching temperament. She's calm, patient, encouraging, and genuinely fun. She balances structure and humor beautifully, which keeps the kids engaged while still helping them learn proper technique and safety. Kennedy absolutely loves coming to gymnastics each week, and we credit so much of that to Coach Lauryn's positive coaching style, professionalism, and dedication. We are very grateful for the care and attention she gives every athlete in her class. Highly recommend Coach Lauryn to anyone looking for an outstanding gymnastics coach who truly cares about her students and helps them grow.

Admission is $19 for two hours and grip socks are $3.50, if needed. The play area is pretty spacious, ranging from trampolines with obstacles, climbing slides, obstacle course, a swing to jump off, a high beam to swing and jump from, a zip line, a high beam knock down, dodge ball and other areas. Kids are able to jump around and run with space or make new friends to follow for the night. Parents are able to sit in the play area, after signing a waiver, to be closer to their little one. There is plenty of seating throughout. There is also seating below in the food court area of Defy. During the two hours, I went off for a bit to shop while my husband stayed behind. There are plenty of shops to explore especially with all the sales following the holiday season. Since it is an outlet/mall, there is plenty of parking on site. If/when you do visit, park near Scheels close to where you can see H&M from the parking lot. If you enter at this location, go straight and make a left onto the path. Once you pass the fireplace, there is a set of stairs. GO UPSTAIRS. Defy is there. We circled until we asked, signage to locate this place is not great. If you do get hungry there are plenty of places to eat within the outlet and shopping area, both driving and walking - depending on what you fancy. There is also the food court inside Defy, offering ICEE, fountain drinks, nachos, pretzels, pizza slices, popcorn and more. The prices are reasonable considering it's an attraction. We did our waivers and purchased our tickets and socks online, from their website, before visiting. You can also purchase at the counter and complete the waiver at a kiosk or by scanning the QR at the register. We downloaded the ticket to our Apple wallet and presented it at the register.

We've brought so many guests to support this establishment. I paid memberships for 2 children and have one on automatic monthly membership. We've supported DEFY all summer with our regular visits and have never had an issue until today. Those ladies know us already and every time, I never had ANY issues. The website clearly states that kids 6 and under are free, yet the staff up front told me I needed to pay for my 5-year-old. This is very frustrating and misleading, especially for loyal members who come here so often. If your policy has changed, update your website so families aren't caught off guard.

This place has been amazing!…read more We have been coming to Jump n Shout pre-COVID for their Saturday bounce house days. It was cheap, fun, and a good way to get out a ton of energy! Recently, we signed up for 6 weeks of preschool tumbling. I'm so glad we did! My daughter's coach (I SWEAR I will update the review when I remember her name) has been so good with her. We came in with absolutely no gym/gymnastics/tumbling experience whatsoever and it has never been an issue! Her coach is patient yet persistent. She really works with the kiddos on form and technique while making sure they're still having a good time! She is always very honest and open about my daughter's progress and things to work on at home. The front desk staff is also awesome! I love that the parents get to be so close, even if we are in another room. Our kiddos can still see us just beyond the window. We got a deal online for 6 weeks of classes, but I'm sure we will keep coming here beyond those 6 weeks. It's such a good environment for kids of all ages!

We have recently left the Reno Elite cheer program at Jump N Shout. Our whole team (minus one) -…read morewhich was their special athletes' team left Reno Elite for another local cheer program. When four of your eight athletes' parents tell you that they are going to quit cheer unless they can find another gym, it's time to talk... It was after that that I personally started seeing the issues and then agreed to leave with the rest of them. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt. There were a lot of issues with our particular team this last year (which was my son's third season with the team). Although our main coach was on maternity leave for most of the season, I do not personally see most of the issues being because of her. It was more to do with three other people (two of which usually have nothing to do with our team anyway). It seems to me that we were just buffered sufficiently when we had a head coach actively with our team. As for the cheer program as a whole, I still believe that they provide a good program. In particular to us: Coach Emily, Coach Lauryn, and Coach (Mr) Randy B were always supportive of my son and our family and I miss them. It is just that in many ways our team was left out of a lot all gym events, etc and we didn't have the support that we used to have especially when it came to fundraising. There were several issues around fundraising that I don't think all in the program knew about, so I don't hold all responsible. Suffice it to say that we did not have access to all of our funds we raised (not even credited to our tuition like we were told...), planning other events on our main fundraising date (said our first date was no longer available because of a competition going to be held there and then next thing you know they planned a similar event on our date instead, then had a big issue where we were not going to be able to set up for our big event until the actual time it was to begin (told less than a week before, but then it miraculously and thankfully was canceled... we think because someone realized that this was going too far with a team who was already really discouraged by the lack of support we were getting), and not helping advertise until a day or two ahead of time (even though I repeatedly asked maybe the wrong coach....) and then when it was sent out it had the wrong date. I believe that they have the potential to once again have a solid special athletes' team, but they need to address these issues. Like I said, though, I can still recommend them if you are not needing a special needs team. My suggestion is to check out at least this one and the other larger gym in town and see where you fit in the best.
