We have been attending flips for just over a year and we love it! Coach Naomy is amazing and there are other amazing coaches! Scheduling a class is easy and whenever you move up they call you to schedule the new class. The gym is clean and the staff I have encountered has been friendly. Highly recommend! read more

It's okay. Good price but takes forever to move up. After a year of going once a week my daughter still can't do a proper handstand or cartwheel. We've gone through a couple instructors. Some are great while others I think are just their for a paycheck. The equipment looks really old, torn, and very used. They stack several old flat mats on top of each other to make it cushioned. The carpet is so filthy my daughter walks on it and the bottom of her feet turn black. They really need to update the equipment pads and clean the carpets. Nice people but no one ever calls you back when inquiring about one on one classes, I have inquired several times about this. Parking stinks.... there is no notice that you can't park in the lot next door so I parked their thinking it was okay. Well the owner next door chained and locked the exit. I went out at night to leave and I was chained in. Went inside Flips to ask for help and they were fully aware of this situation. The next door neighbor never answered the phone nor called back. The flip gymnastics staff didn't know how to help....even though they mentioned that this has happened before. I ended up having to hop over the curb, drive over plants, and I scrapped the bottom of my car while trying to get over the side curb that dropped down to a loading dock. Wasn't to happy but I got out. read more

My 9 year old son attended camp here in the summer time in August 2021. He had lots of fun in the facilities and loved the instructor. He is interested in attending other things here when it fits our schedule! Thank you FLIPS! read more

My daughter had been begging me to enroll her in gymnastics classes, and once she turned 5, I figured it was my best shot at getting her to stop trying to do backflips off my couch! (no such luck) I called for info, and the owner Suzi returned my call promptly and answered all my questions. She even offered a try-me class! The rates are great, the gym is spacious and has all the fun flippy-tumbly stuff, and best of all, my daughter LOVES coming to learn! The 5 & 6 yo class is taught by Coach John, and he makes learning the skill basics seem like fun games. You know what I love? How tired my daughter is after class LOL! Real talk, this gym has produced some of Reno's highest caliber gymnasts for decades, and whether they go on to compete, move to another sport, or are just recreational gymnasts, the sport imparts balance, strength and spatial awareness that all athletes benefit from. read more

I have heard great things about this place. Definitely not a good fit for us. The girl at the front always seems inconvenienced when I call and in person. Our 6 year old was in a beginner's class with older kids who were advanced. Since our kid wasn't to their level they sat on the sidelines and didn't participate. Not what I am paying for. The waiting area is small and crowded. read more

We got to go to a 6yr old's birthday party here a couple of weeks ago and it was really fun. Multiple places to play and exercise, attentive attendants, and a well maintained facility helped all the kids (and their parents ) enjoy a great morning of fun. ...for all ages I might add. There was a "toddlers and under," area that our 3 yr old DID NOT EVER TIRE OF...and if you have a little one, you know how cool that is. I'm sorry I have no pics to add, but the place was pretty impressive. read more

finally restructured so that parents could watch their kids but the room has no ventilation, smells like dirty socks and is over heated. almost impossible to tolerate watching for an hour. no improvement. will not re up my enrollment. read more

The app is great. The gym for the kids seems to be great as they are working hard. However, there seems to be no real curriculum or show of progression. The parent viewing area is three tvs in a room the resembles a prison area that smells like feet. The front office is a day care. Horrible experience for parents good experience for kids. Would not recommend this place. read more

Flips USA Gymnastics - The parent viewing area. - Gymnastics Near Me - Sparks, Nevada

I've been bringing our youngest child to Flips since November 2021. We have tried out two other gyms in the area for their tots programs and have decided to remain at Flips. As a parent my expectations for a tots gymnastics class is that my child is being instructed age appropriate body movement skills in a safe environment while still having fun. Flips has been able to provide just that over the last few years. We have also been big fans of the Active Minds program in addition to the RedHots weekly class. If our child chooses to continue their gymnastics sport, the only reason we would choose to move gyms is to have access to a complete boys program as our son gets closer to age 6. As for other comments on Yelp regarding the waiting room and cleanliness I can't help but wonder what their personal expectations actually are? I mean we are talking about a gym that is used day in and day out all the while keeping prices extremely affordable. Equipment is safe and clean. Is every piece brand sparkling new? No, but that's not why I choose this gym. I can confirm that staff does clean and wipe down equipment as well as vacuum and mop throughout different times of the day, as we have witnessed this over the years from different class times. As for the waiting area, I've never had an issue with it being too small. I actually liked when the waiting room was in the back room and we watched on a tv as it gave separation of staff and parents. I'm paying for someone to instruct my child, I'm not paying to intervene during practice time. In fact, it is common in the gymnastics world for parents/siblings to sit at a distance to prevent distractions for the athletes. Regardless, the waiting room is now sectioned off on the gym floor and is perfectly fine. In fact it is much more spacious than some other gyms in the Reno/Sparks area. May I also add, it's important to consider that gymnastics is an individual sport. Your child will be your best reference point as to if the gym and coaching staff works well with your specific child. If your child is not progressing at the rate you wish, that needs to be a concern had with their coach and your child. I don't think a poor yelp review will help any child improve their personal skills. With that said, we've been thrilled with the tots program progression and have referred several families to give Flips a try! read more

Love this toddler class!! They offer lots of activities and fun environment!! Highly recommended!

Wish i was making this stuff up but my neighbor said NOT to try flips as his daughter was previously enrolled and staff have their favorites and for sure treat them all differently, I tried anyway as it's close to home. management is impolite and unprofessional, I saw all of the positive at first and what seemed this gym has accomplished but I guess that was in the past(new ownership now), I called many times and receptionists were rude, My wife went in and was ignored so immediately walked out. if thats the kind of attention they give the girls, we'll seek else where. (two stars because the gym is very nice and big) read more

I want to say I did love this place. I adored my daughters teacher but unfortunately she left a couple weeks ago for college. She was so amazing. She challenged my daughter and made her try things she was too afraid to try and didn't accept "I can't" as an answer. But everything has changed. The new teachers don't focus on all the kids equally and they don't make them try anything. If my daughter says no, they say ok and move on. My mom was the one who first noticed this as she takes my daughter to class about once a month. She talked to the owner Suzi and Suzi said the teachers are new and not that comfortable yet and are still warming up. Well, it's been 3 weeks or so now and nothing has changed. I'm thinking of taking her out. I'm actually currently writing this review as my mom is there with her now, she can see on the screen when my daughter tells them no and they move on. My mom even said she saw my daughter walk up to two separate coaches and asked for help and neither one of them would help her. So think about this if your child is also timid and scared of trying things. They won't be helped here. While I'm here venting, it's also incredibly hot where the parents sit. The only fan is a giant industrial fan that my 2 year old loves to try and stick her fingers in. I'm sure she's not the only one. Also, the only reason they got two stars and not one, is because they're the cheapest. read more

Affordable Gymnastics classes for children of all ages. The instructors are amazing and very competent and skilled. My daughter loves coming here for her weekly class, and has after a few months had already advanced to the next class level up. We found out about Flips because our child was signed up with their "TumbleBus" at her daycare and just loved it so much we decided to sign her up for lessons. My only complaint is that at a lot of times there isn't enough parking, but the level of customer service we receive from their staff makes up for it. If you are looking for quality gymnastics classes for your child at affordable prices, this is the right place for you. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE!!!!! I am a former employee and I have seen and heard it all. They don't clean anything, it's FILTHY. Coaches constantly talk bad about kids and there parents. They also DO NOT INTERVIEW new employees and they also DO NOT DO BACKGROUND CHECKS. It's disgusting. read more

The instructors are great! Our daughter (3 yrs) absolutely loves coming here. She's actually learning stuff too! They also have a great open gym for only $5. It's perfect for a rainy or snowy day. I'm giving it 4 stars only because I wish there were more kids during her class time. read more

My daughter was bullied daily by other girls and the coaches did nothing. When we requested a meeting with Suzi the owner we were ignored. Finally my kid had enough and stood up for herself. The girl that was bullying her cried and the coaches sided with her and my daughter was sent home. Terrible Gym!!!! The coaches only care about the one or 2 girls that are winning and don't pay attention to the rest. It's basically sink or swim. If you want your child to learn gymnastics and be coached by people that care go to Gym Nevada, Deltchev, High Sierra or any other gym in Reno. Don't let the coupons or low price entice you. You get what you pay for. read more

Love this place! My daughter does tumblebus at her school and also does gymnastics once a week both thru flips. ALL the coaches are wonderful. Especially coach John. He is so patient with her. She only 4. So we will be coming here for many many years! read more

I had my daughter's 3rd birthday party here. She also took a few classes prior to the party. I do not have enough good things to say about this place! I had two staff members to help with the party for the entire time we were there. They did everything. When we arrived they helped us set-up, they took the kids on the gym floor and did a little warm up, monitored their play, served them food and cake, and even helped her open her packages, read her cards and write down a gift list for us. We had the whole place to ourselves and we had 20 kids for 2 hrs at $150 total! This was a great deal for a party! My friend even had her son's party there a couple of months later because she was so impressed with the one we had. I'd highly recommend it! read more

Our family used a LivingSocial deal for our 4-year-old and he LOVES coming here. He was bumped up to the older kids class and seems to be challenged a bit more there. We will probably be getting him enrolled in a regular class because he likes it so much. During my son's first class I noticed the instructor was not spotting him on various equipment. I mentioned it to the manager and the instructor was much more attentive in making sure my son was safe on the higher equipment so he didn't injure himself. I think it is probably tough for the instructor when some of the kids are more shy and need more attention. Other than that - the place is great and there is a viewing room for the parents to watch. The bathrooms are clean too which is always a plus too. read more

Great place to bring your kids and the whole staff is amazing! Tamera is a great instructor and highly recommend her! My daughter is 10 years old, she started in October 2016 and the instructors have already helped her excel to Silver! I can't wait to see what they help my daughter achieve in the world of Gymnastics! I highly recommend anyone looking into classes, to just take the plunge and do it, you and your kids will be happy you did! read more
