I asked for surgical steel (what I wear in my ears), and he suggested that titanium is a better choice and slightly safer than surgical steel (not that the latter is bad, just that titanium is a smidge better). I trusted him, since he has been doing this for longer than I've been alive! Rob is great and very personable. With that being said, I called and made an appointment to get my septum pierced. Why I wanted it done you might ask, it's so that I wouldn't regret not getting it when I was stewing for years wanting them. Anyway, I came in and the place was bright, clean and was greeted immediately by Rob. This is an exclusively piercing place only. I go and filled some forms and went to pick on my nose ring. I went with the standard 16 gauge titanium horseshoe ring (no colored ones for now coz of work). Now, I was told my nose cartilage's moves and my small nostrils didn't help. So when it was poking time, Rob kind of have to move the needle to make sure the piercing is aligned. It made me tear up, but the pain was actually nonexistent and it was so quick I didn't know it was already done and over with. Rob made this a very feel good experience for me. Aftercare were also provided for you with clear instructions so you can better care for your fresh piercing. Definitely will come back to get some more piercings done. read more

Rob is the best at what he does. He is the only body piercer I will go to. He has done 4 of the piercings in the photo (he also did my nipple piercings). I have recently allowed my daughter to get a couple ear cartilage piercings and she is very comfortable with him. He is very professional and very honest in his practices. If you go in and want a piercing, he won't do it if you're anatomy isn't right. I went in wanting a triple forward helix, but with the current mask wearing requirements, he advised against it, to protect from irritation from wearing and removing masks. Mystical Body is my go to place for piercings. Rob is the most educated piercer in Modesto. He tells you the pros and cons of a piercing and tells you if it is suited for your body. He isn't interested in your money, he is interested in your safety. He wants what is the safest for your body. I trust him with all of my piercings. I've gotten a total of 11 piercings from him and he does amazing every time. The jewelry is high quality and not that bull shit you buy off e-bay for $3. His prices are high but I'd rather pay good money for a good, safe and clean piercing then $15 for something that is unsanitary and pierced by someone who has little to no education about body anatomy/piercings. First off let's get one thing straight... Rob is a total badass. I've visited Mystical Body several times and I always have a wonderful experience. I've gotten secondary lobe piercings, he aced it, perfectly symmetrical, 10/10. Then I went and got an upper lip piercing redone, to try to fix the asymmetry to the other upper lip piercing, as the one being redone was initially noticeably lower. Again, he aced it. Absolutely perfect. Another 10/10. Just recently I went in and got a vertical labret piercing... I cannot even begin to describe how much joy this one brought me... I have no words other than it was, again, perfect! The symmetry between my vertical labret and Angel bites is so incredible... honestly I'm pretty speechless. And that's just on symmetry! Rob is very knowledgeable, always makes sure you leave with an aftercare sheet, makes sure you understand what's going on, what gauge your jewelry is, how long the healing process is, etc. Every time I've been there I've always felt like there was mutual respect. He won't just pierce you if you haven't got the proper anatomy just for the money, unlike some other piercing shops (that may or may not be just a few feet away from mystical body) oh, but I wouldn't know too much about that... Honestly don't go anywhere else. I won't. EDIT:: because I forgot; He uses internally threaded titanium as the starter jewelry, has a beautiful selection of jewelry, no mystery metal stainless steel BS. read more

First, i'm gonna start with the customer service. Rob did my piercings and I'm glad he did. I got both of my nostrils pierced. He made sure they were symmetrical to the structure of my nose and face. When he was prepping for the piercing, he explained everything he was doing and made sure i was comfortable too. Second, the options of jewelry to choose from is amazing! You can choose from many different colors which i think is super neat. All in all, the environment was great, service was professional as well as great, and i felt comfortable! I recently went to Rob for nipple piercings, and his shop was exactly what I was looking for. He's been piercing for a very long time and it's obvious that he knows what he's doing. I didn't even feel a sliver of uncomfortableness with Rob, and he made me feel confident that my piercings would heal nicely as long as I take care of them. It was $135 for the piercings with standard barbells (including the cleaner for them) and I was fine with paying that price for the quality of the piercings and Rob's expertise! Comparing Rob's shop with the one at the mall, which is cheaper by about $50, I would choose Mystical Body any day and save yourself the hassle of dealing with possible botched piercings or an uncomfortable experience.
