Got trolled so hard here…read more Called in to ask if they do walk ins and the price for ear piercings and gave the price $70 for piercings and studs and said walk ins are available so we agreed. Came in and I asked questions since I never got a piercing and didn't know the procedure but neither the receptionist nor piercer wasn't feeling it that day. Maybe I just caught them in a bad day but either way got my ears pierced quickly. However when I went to pay with my Apple Pay they said cash only AFTER I got my ears pierced and they never said anything on the phone. I asked if I can pay by credit card or Apple way and they pointed at an ATM that I couldn't withdraw money from (since I had no debit card). So since I only had a credit card and apply pay, I had to give up my drivers license and waste about an hour walking around to and back to a gas station that didn't do cash backs and Walgreens a mile away that I had to purchase twice and had a limit of $40 for cash. So after I walked all the way back in the Modesto summer in dress shoes (since I came from an interview) I asked them how should I pay the difference and showed me I can pay with... ...Venmo. ...and yeah, they just made me walk an hour in the blistering heat when I could've just venmoed them the whole time. It's a shame since the place was pretty cool and had a nice vibe to it. I debated on giving them like 2 or 3 stars cause they pierced my ears well but man walking in that Modesto heat for 1 hour in dress shoes to get cash I wasn't informed or needed was not the best experience. So yeah... TLDR: bring cash.

He showed him what he wanted, quickly drew up the stencil and got started. My husband was comfortable the entire time. Afterwards, it was my turn. I was nervous since this was my first time, but he made me feel relaxed. He asked what music I would prefer and then I just sat back and it was completed much more quickly than I anticipated! It looks great. My brother and sister in law just got theirs done there this week as well. So happy with this place.

His line work is very exact and he has excellent fundamentals-his stuff is bold and bright, and will last forever. He did some traditional pieces (one was a re-work on a pretty poorly done tattoo from someone else awhile ago) along with a couple of out of the box ideas, so he's well-rounded. Not to mention, dude is funny as shit. Generally speaking, Born to Lose is a very well run shop. They have always kept appointments and been on time, which isn't always the case w the tattoo industry. Their prices are relatively low given the caliber of work they do. I highly recommend this shop for any ideas you have. They'll work with you and most importantly, they'll genuinely listen to what you want to do.

I creeped on his Instagram account for over a year before I sent him a message asking to book a tattoo. I explained to him I have a baby who has heart issues, so I was concerned about exposure of covid while in the shop. Not that I would ask everyone to wear a mask while I was there, but just because I wasn't sure how full the shop gets, as it is smaller (I also booked in December when covid numbers were pretty high). I was very grateful that he was willing to set time aside to come in when shop hours were closed, to do my tattoo. I was able to come in an hour before to put numbing cream on, which I feel helped as my tattoo took 4 hours to do. His station prep took about 40 minutes, which I appreciated, as it ensured he cared about how sterile his equipment was. My tattoo is beautiful. I have not had any line blowouts, and it has healed perfectly. I came in the next day after it was done for a wrap change, and when I took the 2nd wrap off 7 days later, my tattoo was virtually healed. He also responded pretty quickly about any questions I had regarding healing and after care, again, being my first tattoo, I didn't know what to expect. His line work is absolutely beautiful and I trust the longevity of his work over time is guaranteed. 10/10 recommend him as an artist.
