Next time, I would also supplement with surfboard rental for $10/hour or $30 per day to practice in between lessons. Season ends labor day so if you're interested in lessons after this, would recommend calling. Recommend coming during the week as the beaches are less busy. The surf lesson hut is right at the edge of the beach and the parking lot near the hotel's water park area. Check in and signing waivers are at the surf shack. Open cubbies (not secure) to leave towels, sandals, small ice cooler etc behind the shack. Outdoor open shower for general use to rinse off afterwards located behind the shack on the way to the beach also. Parking: Booking instructions say that there is a white 2-story parking structure across the street (unknown cost) as I did free street parking.

The best things for me as the parent were 1) the price and 2) the flexibility. $10/ hr can't be beat. And for novice surfers, the fact that they could try and then come back and switch boards if needed took a lot of stress off of us to pick the perfect size or shape. Very happy we chose Jack's. *note that driving directions took us to a different business parking lot. Jack's is a kiosk in the parking lot in front of the pier.

I called and let one of the employees know. He said the owner would call back and make it right. I never got a phone call. I returned today to show them the sweatshirts. The thread was coming out of the sleeves. The cashier told me they were falling apart around the collar too. I spoke to that same cashier and she told me to wait for the owner and to look around. She went on to show another customer every hanging t-shirt in the shop. I approached her a second time and asked if I could just talk to the owner who was standing right there. She explained the dilemma and he looked at me and said "we don't carry that anymore". I said ok I was told I'd get a call back. I spend money in here all the time. I want you to see your product. He then said "do you want me to send you one when they come in?" You're gonna send me a hoody that you're no longer keeping in stock? I said, no thank you I am not trying to reinvent the wheel here but you should know what your product looks like. Ripped after one wear. The owner is not interested in making it right. Make your own judgement as to whether or not you want to spend your money here. I'm good.

It's actually bigger than I expected when we went in. The employees were friendly. The clothing seemed to be higher quality than you can get at chain stores. I call them and get the details and find out that they come to you. Not like the other guys I called that you have to go where they are or will be. The price is right and they offer discounts the more time you book. The day came when her lesson was going to start. They called me to confirm our daughter's height and weight, showed up on time, brought the correct surf board. Explain from beginning to the end (who, what where and when of it all). My daughter who is ADHD with a big E in front (extreme) had no problems fallowing along, enjoyed it and I liked that we had a 2 hour lesson and after an hour they took a break and it was not included in the time booked. After it was said and done they did not pressure me into more time or other lessons. Very professional, punctual, understanding and most of all patient.

Located in a neighborhood with mobile homes, short houses and not too many tall condos, this beach access has a small parking area and a building with restrooms. On the beach, it is firm and hard packed. Quite a lot of shells and pretty rocks to keep the kids occupied, the shallow water extends a good bit into the surf. Easy to sit in your beach chair and put up an umbrella if it's not too windy. Enjoy! [Review 19384 overall - 958 in South Carolina - 354 of 2023.]

There were quite a few free places to park, and the beaches were free(still are). We ended coming down every yeat, and purchased a home in Barefoot Resorts because they had a beach cabana with free parking. The free parking is a rare find these days, but I we were able to buy a parking sticker. We purchased a new home in Little River (just up the street} in 2023. We were not able to buy a parking permit for this year because of the very limited supply available to out-of-towners. No breaks or allowances for war veterans, no free parking anywhere we can find--let alone finding one with a restroom. We visited the beach a couple times a week because I had developed a skin disorder from agent orange, and sitting in that warm salty water was a free treatment. I will be able to get free parking if my condition gets worse and go on total disability, but probably won't be in good enough shape by then to enjoy the beach, and I am already in my seventies. I just wanted to put this information out there--because I know I'm not the only one who lives in the area with the same issue. I would have to go out of the country to find a beach I ever enjoyed more than the Beach from Myrtle Beach up to Cherry Grove. Is there anyplace in the area with free parking for war veterans?
